  1. Depends if we plan to use Richards as purely a right back or not i guess.
  2. Mancienne is not a right back no matter how many times he has covered in that position.
  3. Aguero is an fantastic player and i would love to see him play for Chelsea but it does raise questions. Where does he play? Would we break up the Nico and Drogs partnership, is he willing to bide his time and take his chances? What would it mean for the likes of Di Santo, Sturridge and Borini?
  4. Ashley Cole will most certainly NOT be playing against Wolves. Yes he was in full training yesterday but it was solely non contact for him at the moment still. Injury isn't as bad as it sounds, hopefully fingers crossed could be back for the Arse game.
  5. Will be interesting to see if Kakuta is given any first team chances now that the ban is lifted...
  6. Of course it has worked. People wanted results from it too quickly. Our academy was very poor before Roman came along. His investments are now bearing fruit. We have a good bunch of players on the fringes of the first team and behind them we have the best group of young players we have produced for many many years......
  7. Yes Di Santo's hold up play and link up play is top class, and if he can start scoring goals he can be a top forward still. We have 3 young strikers who all have potential to be very very good - not a bad situation to be in i would say.
  8. Yes, however 23 years old still playing in the Swedish league... I know it is hard to judge without seeing a player play at all but i would question the potential of his ability.
  9. Yes, if he is that good then £3m is a small price to pay..... How old is he though?
  10. I think we would do well to sign a right back, and Richards would be a very good signing in my opinion. It all depends on the price..
  11. I can certainly see the benefits of signing some young talent for the midfield, and especially English talent given the new PL rules. However you do have to be very careful when spending a lot of money on young players, it is a big risk. We have Mikel, Essien and Matic who are long term players, plus youngsters of the likes of Cork, but i can certainly see Ancelotti looking at the midfield with 1 eye on the future.
  12. My thoughts exactly, although there are circumstances where he possibly holds a European passport from somewhere? Also it is allowed in certain circumstances. Would be good for us to pick up some South American talent. U15's though is a young age and unless he does have an EU passport then i wouldn't think our chances of bringing him over are very good.
  13. Borini will not struggle with the physical side. He is suprisingly strong and his hold up play is very good considering he isn't a particulary big unit, he works his backside off and doesn't mind getting physical at all. Sturridge is more of a flair player, infact they have worked very well together in the reserves.... Both have tons of potential, they just need the games to take it on to the next level.
  14. He hasn't played of late due to an illness, has nothing to do with is form... The games after international break are never good for us, hopefully we will be able to do enough to win this one and i am sure we will. But it will be a tough game i am sure.
  15. At the moment i wouldn't say we have an injury crisis at all. Lets see what is said once all the lads are back from international duty first. Plus it looks like Lampard is the only longish term injury doubt at the moment.
  16. Excellent to see Carlo has faith in our young lads, unless these boys get games at the highest level they are never going to reach the heights that they can. I truly hope that Carlo does give the ACN period to allow Borini, Sturridge and Di Santo the chance to show what they can do because they are all very talented players.
  17. Not too much of a crisis at the moment. Losing Lamps is a blow though, Ashley Cole should be back for the Arse game fingers crossed. And to have to pick from our midfield from the following: Mikel, Essien, Ballack, Deco, Malouda, Cole, Zhirkov... i think we should be able to cope just fine. Would have liked our strongest 11 out against the Arse but we have to work with what we have and i think we can still win it...
  18. It has been confirmed that Frank Lampard suffered a muscle tear in his left thigh while away with the England national team. The midfielder reported back at Cobham this morning having flownback from the Middle East. The Chelsea medical department's initialimpression is that he may take approximately three weeks to recover. Source: Chelsea FC Not good news, to have to play Arsenal without Frank, Bosingwa and possible Ash makes the game even tougher.
  19. 1. Zola 2. JFH 3. Desailly 4. Gudjohnsen 5. Makelele
  20. I am sure it is not serious. Given that it is a pointless friendly i am sure that players with any slight concern are being sent home. I am sure he will be available for our next game.
  21. Yeah i though that too... Unusual as well for an injury to be described as "life-changing".... don't know if i would read too much into that at the moment to be honest. Could well mean that he won't be back playing anymore which is a real shame. Also a real shame for him the move to spurs never worked out for him or improved his situation.
  22. I would be suprised if we did considering the ammount of cover we have in that position, and the fact that by the time we sign someone in Jan Bosingwa will be pretty much back in action...
  23. This is a blow to us thats for sure. He was in some great form. We do have Ivanovic to cover there and also Ferreira, so hopefully we will be able to cope, but i would have prefered Bosingwa to play, especially against Arsenal.
  24. Goalkeeper Rhys Taylor has signed a new contractwith the club that lasts until 2012. The 19-year-old stopper hasfeatured twice for the reserves this season. Source: Chelsea FC It is good for Rhys that he has signed a new deal. However i was unsure of what his future would be. He has suffered recently with a few injuries, but at the same time his performances have not been quite the improvement we would have wanted to see. Clearly the club feel he can still develop more, and i hope when he comes back from injury he can start to make those improvements, a loan spell at some point in the future will be good for him too...
  25. A lot of our young players have the potential to make it with our first team. But potential needs to be realised by first doing well on loan and then trying to make inroads with our first team. Mancienne is in the top bracket at the moment for players likely to get a regular spot with the first team next. Van Aanholt is also looking like having an excellent chance, and at left back which is a very specialist position, we are lucky to have both Van Aanholt and Bertrand both who are looking top prospects. Thanks to whoever moved this to the correct thread, much appreciated.
