Matej Delac praises Chelsea stars for welcoming him to the club
EskWeston replied to the wes's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Good to see him settling in nicely. Not too clear at the moment of when he will join the club proper, stories say 2011 but that may have been because of the transfer ban. Good young keepers are hard to come by and he seems a very good prospect for his age. -
Would be a shame to be without Drogba in such good form, but we need to be able to play without him. Is Sturridge back from injury yet?
-
The only thing which i could agree with the penalty saves, which means nothing. Cech's shot stopping is exceptional. Cech comes for so many crosses and claims them perfectly, we are sitting here judging him on the back of a few soft goals, 2 of which were not his fault at all.... Give me Cech over Reina any day, i am sure the Scousers are not too happy with the way Reina is conceeding at the moment...
-
Lol.... ah, you can't beat the old seamen gags
-
On the logic that conceeding goals makes a bad keeper (which is what we are judging Cech on) then that is utter tosh. Plus the basic fact that Reina is not a better keeper than Cech..
-
Theres a joke in there somewhere i am sure of it......
-
How about Reina? He is doing a good job of keeping the goals out at Anfield!!:541:
-
Lol, there are some seriously poor roumers around this January..... Ancelotti has already said that we will bring no-one in, Anelka, Sturridge and Borini will be covering the ACN period and i am sure they are more than capable. Personally i would have brought back Di Santo as well, but i think we could manage without. Carlo is right to take a chance on the kids, if we bring a striker in how the hell are we ever going to bring through players like Sturridge and Borini? Who is to say they can't be world class?
-
All i can say is LOL....... Yes, clearly Robert Green is a much better keeper than Cech and signing him would solve all our problems..
-
Rate Reina above Cech? Seriously that is just a joke, people talk about keepers like Reina, Van Der Saar, Buffon ect... and claim they are better than Cech, we see Cech every game but chances are the most you will see of the others are highlights... Keepers get a lot of blame for conceeding goals, do we think Cech is perfect? Of course not but who is? How many people have honestly seen enough of Buffon to say he is better than Cech? How can you honestly see that keepers like Reina and Van Der Saar make as many or more mistakes than Cech and claim them better.... We are damn lucky to have Cech as our keeper because top class keepers are a rare rare thing. I wouldn't take anyone over Cech at all..

Didier Drogba hoping to delay call-up to African Cup of Nations
EskWeston replied to Badboy's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
It is great to hear Drogba making these comments and he is truly dedicated to Chelsea now.... He is having a monster season this season, absolutely incredible. He will be a BIG miss during the ACN but we will appreciate it when he is back. -
Exactly, we played some very good stuff and a few things go against you and suddenly you find yourself at 3 - 3 it happens and we need to give the team support and not act like spoilt children because we don't win every single game...
-
I have no problem with us signing up talented young midfielders because a lot of our midfield is on the older side now... Can't say i know anything about Pjanic to be honest but i would say its a little early to say that he is far better than Kakuta....
-
Stoch bagged himself another couple of goals at the weekend. He is absolutely flying at the moment. Would like to think that Carlo will be able to find somewhere for him in the squad come next season because he has taken the step up to every level perfectly, even his Chelsea first team appearances have been impressive.
-
We have suffered from set piece problems before and come out of it. I think it a little harsh to blame Cech, 2 freak goals and some poor defending.. We are having a little run where things are not going right for us, things are happening as well that you just can't account for. We will come out of it though and hopefully stronger than before.
-
I agree with him, booing your own team is bad enough. But to boo in those circumstances was just terrible, i thought the team played pretty good and again we got unlucky with some freak goals, it happens and lets hope our run of bad luck has come to an end...

What i find strange is that we are top of the league and still have a wasted season.... the only team who look capable of mounting a serious challenge is Man Utd who are 2 points behind us with an almost similar record so far this season, drawing 1 game at home where we have won all of ours, yet somehow they are more likely to overturn our lead than we are to hold onto it! On what basis? Like i have said, the CC game against Blackburn Ancelotti decided to play a weak team in favour of resting players for the most important competitions, it didn't work out that we could still go through but the descision was made. Last nights game was a pointless game with nothing at stake. Apoel were up for it and managed to sneak a draw out of us. The City game we just didn't do enough to win, it is the only game of the 3 which really hurt us. In all of those games there were circumstances that could have lead us to win had things happened differently, had Kalou not got injured would we have won with 11 men - Probably. Had Frank put away his penalty and the ref picked up the handball for their first or not given the foul for their second would we have won - probably. Had Mikel not slipped up at the end would we have won - of course. Is there REALLY anything to worry about at the moment. Yes it is not a good situation to be in not winning in 3 games but taken in context we are still looking very good for this season.
-
Possibly, but playing behind the strikers there is never going to be the space to run with the ball as there is on the wings, but in this formation it is the best place to play him. I though he did very well still.
-
To be fair to Mikel he was having a very good game up until that point!
-
The ONLY game that was of any importance was the City game. Against Blackburn Carlo took a chance to rest key players at the expense of the competition least important to us, it backfired. Last night against Apoel had nothing riding on it and the players played as if that was the case. The city game was the only one where we have truly let ourselves down because we underperformed in a big match...
-
Big blow to confidence that we have gone 3 games without a win now! Even though the result was not important. Missed too many chances to put the game to bed and wasn't up to standard again. Zhirkov had a good game and is getting better all the time, i am still waiting to see him played higher up the pitch, i think he would do well there for us. Kakuta had a great game too, showing some lovely touches and his passing was very impressive, one thing we are missing from him though playing in the role he is, is that we are not getting the chance to see him run at defenders which is something he is exceptional at. For me he has earned the right to play against Everton ahead of Deco and Cole...
-
Yes Hutchinson is injured again. He has had some very serious injuries and it has got the point to where he doesn't train every day with the rest of the team he has days off to save him from getting injured again. It is a real shame that serious injury looks like stunting a very promising talent - so much of JT in Hutchinson too. Bruma is a very good defender and he takes every new step in his stride.
-
Having a big club mentality does not give us the right to assume we are going win every game we play in though.. Things happen, and for a number of different reasons we have lost the last 2 games. We are still having a very good season and are looking very strong, top of the league, top of our champions league group with a game to spare.... Hell if we don't win the league again this year will we say thats it for Ancelotti? I would certainly hope not!
-
He should have started against Blackburn in all honesty but he certainly proved he is more than capable with the time he had on the pitch. Hopefully another run out for him at some point today. He can certainly overtake Mancienne and Hutchinson, Hutchinsons career looks like being slowed alomost to a stop by injury but Bruma is looking something else... The fact he is going to be eligable for the FA Youth Cup this season and will play in it too says everything about the ability of this young man
