  1. Lol, are we really even having this discussion....... With Scolari there was clearly a lot of underlying problems that was contributing to poor results on the pitch. We have got knocked out of the Carling Cup on pens, we had a bad day at the office with some bad luck and bad ref choices thrown in against city and all of a sudden we are f**ked??? I don't think so, they need to look at what they did wrong against City for sure, but i would not be suprised to see us go on a very long winning streak now!
  2. A deal will be sorted out for Joe i am sure, also we want to be seeing the best out of him at the top of diamond, i much prefer him there than Deco at the moment.
  3. Am now reading a book called "We need to talk about Kevin" by Lionel Shriver.
  4. This game has a little more importance for us now because we need a win to boost us after 2 defeats on the spin..... It is good that Carlo looks to be starting with Kakuta, and also a suprise inclusion in the squad for Ahamed and Philliskirk.... Ahamed has all the makings of being a very good right back, but Philliskirk has struggled to even make it into a VERY young reserves side this season so that one is a big suprise.
  5. Penalties have a lot of luck inolved in them. As BL rightly points out Frank has done exceptionally well to go so long without missing one...
  6. One of the most frustrating games for a very long while. Firstly we were not good enough, all across the park the team was found to be way below par. Secondly nothing came off for us, a lot of that is down to the first point. Lastly the ref was very poor indeed. Gave them licence to go into us heaver, 2 footed a lot of the time and get away with it. Whilst we were pulled up for everything, missing the handball was shocking, giving the free kick for their second was almost as bad... But for me point 1 is the one that concerns me most. Deco should have been one of the first off the pitch and Belletti should NOT have been one of the players comming on, Malouda should have been on and so should have Joe Cole to try and take charge of the midfield again..
  7. For the first time i think Carlo made some wrong choices. Playing Paulo at centre back was a big mistake, and playing Kalou as a lone striker is another. Rotation is more than fine but we have to be playing people in their right positions otherwise it just won't work. Also the 3 subs at half time was (with heindsight) a bad move. He said he wanted to give the young lads a game, great but then if you ask me we play them from the start! with the more experience to come on if needed. We should have had Bruma partnering Ivanovic to start and Borini with Kalou, at least then the structure of the team is right.... It's not the biggest disaster in the world but i am dissapointed still...
  8. In my opinion it is always a mistake playing people out of position in defence!!! Should have either played Alex or JT with Ivanovic or played Hutchinson or Bruma.
  9. Onto the last in the Twilight saga now - "Breaking Dawn"
  10. Team selection will be interesting for this one. I would assume that Alex will start, as will Ferreira and probably Hilario. Kalou will also be a probable starter. The press seem to think that Kakuta will start which would be great to see, also players like Matic, Borini, Hutchinson and Bruma will be looking to get in on the action too.
  11. As good as Villa is i do not want us to sign him, we need to be looking for someone younger who we can build around.
  12. Absolutely perfect performance for against the gooners, can't say much more than that. The defence was perfect and Anelka and Drogba again just looking so fearsome, Drogba is without doubt going to be the biggest loss during the ACN period.
  13. I wouldn't have a problem us not buying anyone in January..... We can't sign players just for ACN cover! Carlo is doing a fantastic job here at Chelsea but his toughest test is to come because he is going to have to soon start overseeing a change in personel with a lot of our key players over 30
  14. Pace isn't a problem for him and i am sure he will cope physically also. He can play in the Premier League 100%, as i have said before my only concern now is where we play him in the diamond?
  15. It will be a very interesting game thats for sure, the Gooners style may suit us to be able to open them up and create plenty of chances. Our defence will have to be on it's toes though because you can bet they will get their fair share of chances. A draw wouldn't be a terrible result away from home but the win will do us so much good and take us even further ahead of the pack.
  16. Stoch is a fantastic talent, always has been.... and not too disimilar from Kakuta although Kakuta has more ability on the ball. Stoch has impressed at every single level he has moved up to, and he has not dissapointed with his loan at Twente, infact he has possibly done better than most thought he would.. Next season will be interesting for him, Carlo will obviously know everything about what he is doing at Twente and will take a good look at him in the summer. Maybe a loan in England somewhere will be the next step or Carlo may find a place in the squad for him next season. What i would say is that he is definately a good enough talent to make it in our first team..
  17. Absolutely, if we can get through these games with wins then it sets us up brilliantly for the ACN and also puts us in a fantastic position for success.
  18. At the moment the rotation is working very well indeed, we are lucky to have the quality in the squad to be able to do this, and it is keeping the squad fresh for a very tough season where we want to be as successful as possible. At the moment Carlo is making the right changes at the right time, i hope it continues.
  19. Now on to reading the third in the twilight saga - "Eclipse"
  20. Lol, typical of the press to pick up on that.... The whole team played poorly for the reserves last night, that game has zero reflection on Kakuta's ability. He is part of the 20 man squad for tommorows CL game, the only youngster going. I wouldn't be suprised if he came on too. The reserves is a poor guideline for first team ability in truth, the proof is in the training he does with the first team, THAT is what Ancelotti will base his choices on..
  21. Thats excellent information and more than i would have been able to give... All i know about him is that he is playing up a couple of years in the national team and seems to be a very good prospect, am yet to see him play though.
  22. But if we are not playing wingers then what do you do with him? Would be a waste of his talents. Maybe the right side of the diamond is a possibility for him....
  23. Yup, thats where he has played every reserve game so far and where he came on to play on Saturday too... i also thought he would be a Defensive midfielder but it doesn't look like that is where he will end up.
  24. With his sheer ability i see no reason why he can't be used as an impact sub on a more regular basis now. We need to keep testing him to see how he copes time and time again with the Premier League. As he has said himself he is probably MORE suited for first team football as the pace of the game suits his style and allows him to do what he does best...
  25. Even though we have already qualified we need to win this game to ensure we finish top of our group, team selection will be interesting with Arsenal in mind at the weekend, but i think we will field our strongest available 11 for this one.
