and not once have i said anything different about bertrand or shaw. but with cole being 33, u would expect shaw to be his replacement. why is ryan getting the stick here? next year we will have to buy 2 LBs. plus how much would ryan be worth. he is a back up of a back up option right now, totally out of favor and plays for a big team like chelsea who anyways sell players lower than their normal value.
-
in his one league performance he was more than just ok. in the cup games especially against arsenal he was brilliant. so on what context do u want to say that he should be treated the way he is. if u think cole would not be given an extension then even more reason to keep the one who has performed well on every oppurtunity given to him rather than buying 2 LBs. we have a midifield which is crying out loud for some changes. add to that our strikers woes so how does spending 20mil make sense right now while having more than just good enough options.
-
ryan has not been really good this season. in each and every of his performance he has been better than cole's. a lot of people expected him to replace cole when cole was dropped but suprisingly since then he has been "mysteriously" injured. so where do u want to move on and from what? good performances? luke shaw costs 20mil right now, something that would not make much of a difference even if he was bought cos when iva gets back jose will fall back to iva-GC-JT-azpi. so u want to spend 20mil for a player to be probably the 3rd choice LB, 4th choice full back when we have a perfectly good one in ryan.
-
if we win today, then its stoke at SB. our first home game in domestic cups this season
-
since he has not started kalas in any of the 4 "cup" games we have played so far, its safe to assume we have 7 first team defenders. and now we want to sell our replacement LB and go a defender short or even worse spend 20mil on a LB meanwhile in the limited oppurtunities ryan has got he has been really good, so where does the "not very good?" come from... also last time i checked ryan was back from his "injury" 2 weeks ago.
-
oscar, willian, azpi? no bertrand... why??? wtf!!!
-
chalobah is a better back-up CDM than essien at this moment.
-
important that we win today and dont suffer a re-play.
-
for the past 2 years he has been our POTY. he has been our best player in the season we won CL. under different circumstances mata would still have been our "THE" player. what stops mata from becoming a world class player is just his defensive liability. i am not over-rating his attacking prowess which pretty much speaks for itself.
-
how many players are there that can be compared to gerrard/CR/messi/DD/lamps? if u have a player that is equal to these guys, u would not be even thinking about selling it.
-
"IF i leave Chelsea, I would be unprofessional, just because I am not playing does not mean that i dont love Chelsea. I am not leaving." JUAN MATA.
-
and no one including me will argue against that. Even now all we were discussing is mata's usefullness as a substitute. Oscar gives us some brilliant balance but mata provides magic like no one else. Mata will leave chelsea at the end of the season but not right now.
-
Mata was hardly spectacular? He was THE game changer. And even if he was not you asked me how could mata be useful being a sub and a squad player. He changed the whole complexion of the match after coming in and that should be enough to answer your question.MAZACAR had us dreaming after the first 8 games of the last season. After which everything went downhill. Here hazard-oscar-willian have started what 2/3/4 matches together. There is still a long way to go before we dub mata as excessive. Also dude 33goals and 58 assists over the course of 2 seasons speak for themselves. That is what mata has done with possession.
-
watch the tottenham match at white hart lane and tell me if mata dint add tempo to chase the match. just cos mata is not the quickest he cant add tempo. is that what one bad match can do? negate everything good he has done over the course of 2 years? selling off mata makes us lose a world class player. probably the only player who can play possession football and literally control the game. oscar-hazard-willian combo is looking wonderful but dont forget it been barely a 2 weeks or less. there was a time when we thought nothing can beat MAZACAR too and how wrong were we then.
-
most of us have. and that is what is frustrating. we have so many fringe players who can be sold (marin, moses, kakuta, essien) along with that we will be selling some of the first team players or first team quality players too like (cech/courtois, kdb, ba and or torres) so i dont get why people would want to sell mata for funds. (something which i have been trying to say in the mata thread too but its a fish market there). the only reason mata leaves is cos of lack of first team action. anyways all this is mere speculation and way into the future. first lets see what happens in this window itself.
-
makes sense. but keeping hold off mata would be hard specially with teams like napoli, psg showing interest, as for piazon, i think keeping a youth player as a 6th AM is way better than having say someone like marin/kdb/moses as the 6th AM. he would just get odd CUP games so should not be that big an issue.
-
PSG will buy hazard, my ass. who are we, ARSENAL???
-
PSG will buy hazard, my ass.
-
with the way things are panning out i think moses might get another shot. kdb is definitely gone. mata might not be there next season. so i feel hazard, willian, oscar, schurrle, moses and piazon as our 6 AMs next year.
-
as u said this sums it up. and for the thousandth time i ll ask, how does selling mata help STRENGTHEN our squad. we are selling kdb. and will get the required funds from him. mata will be sold in the summer (again an argument i have been giving continously) when we can actually go on to spend big on a striker of our choice (none of whom are available now). also a big point in his argument was mata's "behaviour" in the previous match and hence he should be sold, coupled with utilization (i doubt that word came up even once in all our arguments but i would give him the benefit of doubt there). since u summed him up, i ll sum up myself, mata will be sold, but selling him off in this transfer window helps us in no way. infact it weakens us. also we have good enough options to sell and get those much needed funds. all i have continously asked is "how does selling mata help us THIS SEASON" and i am yet to get an answer from KOREA.
-
have u read the whole conversation since yesterday? do u know the context we are talking about? selling mata to buy KI or playing torres/etoo/ba on the wings. dont just take one quote and give it your own spin. as for the relegation argument. i gave it since he so adamantly said United fans said the same thing about Park Ji sung as well and guess how many titles were won during his time there playing a significant role for United... park winning the PL was his argument, him getting relegated was mine. how do those other players make a difference?
-
so now we should buy KI (LOL). my nation has a national team but that does not mean that I should say that chelsea should buy sunil chetrri. Sunil chettri and KI playing for chelsea (LOL). I have watched Ki play plenty of times to know that he is no where near our quality. And by that I mean he is not good enough to be even a squad player at chelsea. We have players like romeu on loan who are MILES better than KI. As for park ji sun, he played under SAF. Last season he was the same player who got RELEGATED. Or do u think that's his quality. SAF is the best manager of our time and knew exactly how best to use each of his players. Park ji sun was notjin special and to credit him for uniteds success (LOL-MAX).Anyways continue trolling. The fact that you have yet to answer the one and only question I have asked u about 10 times now just shows exavtly what u r .
-
my love for chelsea will triumph both of those things. but your love for KI seems to be going strong. so keep on trolling this forum while supporting sunderland. also GROW a brain is self explanatory cos u dont have one. unfortunately u would not even understand that, would u? its alright, keep embarassing urself.
-
i might be funny but your continous negligence of my one and only question also for the last time, tell me exactly how selling mata off STRENGTHENS our squad. dont give me shit like torres and etoo and ba have played on the wings so they can play and rambo can play too on the wings (like we have de rossi, alonso and pirlo as backs up and can afford to play rambo on the wings). actually tell me how it would make us better. tells me exactly what u r. a troll who knows shit all. so once u grow a brain, then reply back.

again how? selling kdb gets us 25mil (ideally), 20 mil (realistically) and that is right now. mata would fetch us 25-35mil in the summer and would fectch us about the same right now. we will be buying guarin in place of him. surely we wont buy a striker like falcao/cavani right now (lewa is already done). so again how does selling mata for even if it is 10mil more right now, help us in improving our squad. sell kdb, get the money, buy a CM. in summer do all the chopping and cutting. think how influential mata must be in the squad and the effect his loss would make. selling mata right now makes no sense.
