its not even close to over. BA is on his way out to turkey. we have in excess of 25mil left with the "mata-salah" transfer and add to that the revenue that essien and BA would bring (atleast 10mil combined), we will definitely be buying either costa or shaw+zouma.

His pass to Rambo in the FA cup final. his rallying the team at the nou camp and shouting for the players to not give-up. Consoling DD when he gave away the penalty against bayern and telling him “its still not over .we can score again". his corners in both the european finals which ended with chelsea as european winners. Giving his 100% in every match. At every moment. the list of what will be missed when he leaves would simply go on and on. their is "JUAN" and only MATA. no one like you. You will truly be missed and loved no matter which team you have joined. You deserved so much more than what you got. The minimum was a standing ovation from the fans who adore and love you. it depends on what the chants are exactly. there is nothing wrong in paying a tribute to a POTY twice in a row, who actually was not even given a chance to leave to the crowd's applause. the least mata deserved was that.

to each his own then. i honestly would have been happy with something like out -kdb, essien in - matic. build on the this year's performances. sell off ba, mata etc in the summer and buy who ever he thinks apt.

buy out his contract!!!! he reportedly earns 4mil per year. i would say that milan offers him 2mil per year. so thats we would have to pay about 3mil to him to buy out his contract (1mil difference for this half season and 2 mil for the next one). if we get 3-5mil for him out of milan then we can break even. NOT A BAD BIT OF BUSINESS!!!!

i like the intent of the club. believe me. its not that i dont get what jose is trying to do here. despite us being 3rd and safely in the next round of CL and FA, we still had some work to be done on the squad and that is what we are doing. reports are in that essien is on his way out to ac milan and BA on his way out to turkey, plus selling off our 6th AM to buy a first team DM is all great. but sometimes too many changes can spoil the squad harmony.

i always thought that a season comprised of close to 60 matches not 38, hence why u need a "big squad". last season we played close to 70 matches. ake has made 0 appearances for us, kalas has made 1 appearance while essien has made 9. on the other hand, boyata and rodwell have made 13 appearances combined.

what the fuck!!! i mean muller, kroos, alcantara, robben, ribery, shaqiri, gotze and now MATA. well thats the difference between us and them. we have a problem with one world class player on the bench, but they have a bench of world class players.

i hope this one works out. his loans are just terrible. swansea, borough, watford. about 2 years of his development have been totally and absolutely wasted. he is still just 20, and has some time, but he needs to use these oppurtunities.

the only consolation from this transfer would have been if we had actually taken united to the cleaners for this transfer. i mean this was the same team that paid 27mil for felliani and were willing to buy out herrera for 36mil. their desperation is a 100times more than what it was in the summer. they would not get a PL proven quality player like mata anywhere so why sell him at barely his market price. their season, infact their SEASONS to come depend on this window and the 16PL games left in the season so why not rip them off.

QUALITY in depth. essien, kalas, ake - do not and will not make the cut under mourinho this season. they are simply there for filling up names. as of right now, we have 17 first team players for 10 outfield spots. thats hardly depth for me considering the big squads of TOP teams like bayern, city, RM, etc...

that was my initial thought process too, but after hearing reports of salah joining us, i would guess that we would be wasting the money of second level players unfortunately. cant see us buying salah as well as buying out costa. plus there seems to be no rumors flying about this.

we are actually going after salah. seems like mou's going to end the season with the current 3 strikers. so salah -12 mil, shaw - 25mil (???), matic -21 mil = 58mil mata - 37mil, kdb - 17mil =54mil. i would say that should be the least we can expect off this deal cos LB is an area of concern for us. with shaw, we can probably not afford to give AC a contract extension and simply keep shaw and ryan at the end of this season.
