  1. The guys who said ramires and cleverly are as good as each other is back!!!! And I am sure he will have some new anecdotes for us this time.
  2. Some say 16mil pounds while others say 20mil pounds while some reports say 16+4mil add ons. Any thing concrete? Also what would be clauses for the add ons??
  3. after all we have debated, u go on and say that kalas and ake are "decent cover". If bertrand was not played what's the expectations of either of them one game (combined). I did like bertrand as a playrr. Plus in all honesty I expected him to have a break thru season with mou but its gone totally the opposite way. Seems like a hard worker, has a great workrate, is solid defensively... seened so much like a mourinho playr. For some reason it simply dint work out. Anyways by this point, I am out of points. Its safe to say u agree with the deal. I really don't.
  4. are we really going to talk semantixs here? While u conviniently left off my main point of squad strength and making up for our lack of strikers thru quality in other areas. But somehow " tha fair" point took precendence. As far as we are on the subject, I expected bertrand to probably start the 3 Coc matcjes, fa cup match, and a couple of league and CL matcjes here or there, specially since cole dint set the league on fire with his performances. So in that ways he was underused. But it would still mean bertrand sitting on the bench for a major part of the season and that is " fair".And its so weird that u don't have a problem with an 18 year old ask and 20 year old kalas being underused ( or rather not used at all), rather than bertrand. Strange since I would be worried more about their "development" rather than bertrand's who one can say has done all the "developing" he could.
  5. Still is not much of anything right now. Mstly seems like the agent is creating his own ruckus rather than anything else
  6. fair??? Yes it is fair. A playrr like bertrand, ba, essien know the risk of being a squad player in a big team like chelsea, being the 4th choice full back, 3rd choice striker or the 5/6th choice midfiders. Every squad has those players and more than that every squad needs players like these who can fill in the hole once in a whilr, put in a good to average performance and simply do their job. Bertrand was such a playrr. Also I am sure no plane would fall down on azpi, iva and cole (talk about exagerratong a situation and taking a cheap shot), but none the less, we needed bertrand. We don't have a decent srriker (I am not using world class or even good here), we have pivot issues which I hope can be solved by matic and the last thing we would want is playing make shift left back or right back in the team
  7. looking at everton right now, i would say moyes UNDER-ACHIEVED with them. also, as far as i remember moyes dint win a match at the home of big 4. as for united their one win against a top 9 (9 for god's sake), came against an arsenal team who had played chelsea, pool, bvb and united in a space of 10 days with almost the same team. as for the "big-match stigma", u need to have big players. rooney and rvp are those. when u take them out, do we really even expect welbeck, januzaj to be THOSE players? i for one expect a win, a simple win. anything else would simply be outrageous, specially since we went to OT with the simple hope of getting a draw. we should be winning this match.
  8. why? we have rambo matic, mikel, lamps, essien. we have more than enough options for the mid.
  9. again the 64 minutes??? if thats one stat then so is this that he was a STARTER in a CL final. please try and understand what people here are saying and worried about. bertrand was the 3rd choice LB or more correctly put he was the 4th choice full back. no one here is disagreeing with this. right? but it is also true that bertrand was a good and a viable option.having some1 like bertrand in case of an injury/suspension to our full backs would still be an okay situation than what it is right now. injuries and suspensions to defenders is nothing new. during the CL final of 2011-12, we had 2 suspended defenders (JT and iva) and 2 defenders who were coming back from injuries and had not played a game in close to a month (GC and DL). also how does it make sense in loaning him out and not kalas? if we should be worried about the development of the defender then kalas should be the one. also dont tell me that u think kalas would actually make it into any non-dead rubber match under mourinho this season. he dint start in 3 COC matches and 1 FA cup match. and whats this about marketability. i am supposed to believe that bertrand's rated at say 5mil right now but 17 PL matches (considering that he starts each and every match for villa) would increase his price to 10mil? as for the "relationship", dont act like u or me actually know anything that goes on in the club or the dressing room. this deal itself shows how much of an idea we have. 2 days ago bertrand was involved in a swap deal of 8mil for shaw. everything that we discuss here is our thoughts and take on what we see and watch. and the way bertrand has been treated by mou this season has been abysmal.
  10. read the comment again. and then read the comment i wrote before to that again. u had mentioned lamps could not play and win against the likes of bayern, barca and RM. i had mentioned the semis against barca, final against bayern and the super cup against bayern this season. so when u just commented on lamps' performances against barca and bayern in 2011-12, i corrected u by saying "u missed the match against bayern this season". also stop being so dramatic by saying things like "Don't EVER accuse me of missing a Chelsea match. I should kick your ass for making a comment like that." first the abuses then this statement...
  11. not oscar, i think that was for mvg. oscar turned 22 in september. mvg turned 21 in december and hence for some reason he is still counted as u-21. thats y i wrote 4cms (rambo, mikel, matic, essien)
  12. we are fine in the homegrown area, cole, JT, GC, lamps, make 4 spots. the 3 strikers, 5 AMs, 4CMs , azpi, iva, DL, and 2 GKS = 17 players. plus 4 spots open for under-21 players who fill as the rest HG.
  13. ohhhh dear. u do get that any injury is not for a match but for a period of time!!! i was never once talking about essien, kalas and rami TOGETHER. when i said 2 injuries, it was to show that we would be left with no choice but to play with a certain back 4 for a period of time. no rotation possible what so ever. any rotation would have the likes of essien/kalas/rambo (why????) coming in the back 4. not the ideal situation for a team fighting for PL, is it? also DL as a right back would be interesting!!!
  14. not one bit to me. 2 injuries and we would be thread bare in our options and in football,2 injuries is not that is not unheard of. i hope i am wrong but this move smacks more off jose and ryan's (lets put it lightly) strained relationship than anything else.
  15. i think TOPTB would have got what i meant to say.
  16. so let me get this clear. iva and AC being injured at the same point it "worst defensive injury crisis in the history of PL" lets take a look at what happened when we went to barca, DL was already injured, GC got a hammy and we had to play bosingwa in the back 4 after JT was carded. i can go on and on about the number of times 2 defenders have been injured together (cos unfortunately thats all we need to leave us thread bare at the back).
  17. first thing first, i see u still have not gotten sarcasm. secondly, its the mid week FA cup matches i am more worried about than the weekend PL matches. i think i made myself very clear on that. maybe it cos i dont want to see an already slow AC (who has lost a lot of pace) now playing against wingers when he is tired too. makes out for a patheitic combination.
  18. rant and sarcasm and exaggeration does not seem to settle well with u, does it??? it was said with so as to show how poorly we treat our youth!!! simple as that. not everything is to be taken literally.i thought that was pretty clear from the way i wrote and what i wrote.
  19. essien and kalas. yes well said. i saw how essien performed against sunderland in the COC match. KALAS has been a relevation this season!!! u do know that one player can play in only one position in a match. or by your account matic was a useless by cos lets take a look at all our DM options rambo, lamps, mikel, essien, mvg, luiz, oscar (he played a game in that position under benitez). the list u have given me simply compresses to this reality for 95% of our games in which jose would not even think of starting either of essien/kalas (remember kalas has not started either of COC or FA cup or a CL dead rubber) RB - iva, azpi CB - JT, GC, DL LB - AC
  20. cos they actually have 3 LBs (evra, buttner) not a makeshift RB (smalling, rafael). by the way add rio to the list.
  21. he was "injured" for the last game and has been "injured" for a long time (remembers me so much of sturridge and his "injuries"). though now i am sure he will play each and every match for villa without any "injuries". no, we have 5 AMs for 3 spots and 6 CMs for 2 spots (matic, rambo, mikel, lamps, mvg and essien). bit much!!! they have played league football cos they have been selected by their and shown some faith. bertrand would have 2nd to willian as a MOTM in the arsenal carling cup game but somehow got the boot from jose.on the other hand, AC who had a horrendous start to the season was continued to play until it became clear that he should be dropped. shaw becoming the first choice LB ahead of both azpi/cole is unrealistic in my opinion. i simply dont think that can happen in a club like chelsea. infact i think he would be loaned out to vitesse in the summer if he is bought.
