oh dint get the memo? nothing that mou does is wrong. what mou says and does and decides should be taken as the word of god.
-
dint u here the awesome reasoning of some people 1. we dont need quality in depth, we have ramires to play RW 2. juan mata dint fit jose's system. (but what if there are injuries) we can change the whole bloody system and start playing 4-3-3 3. mata is being sold to get points off city and arsenal. (we are worried about city and arsenal's one game against united but not our 16 league games). there have been some other tremendous reasonings. u just need to go thru this thread.
-
first things first, why would not utd form a team around him? what exactly in their campaign is going right that they would not want someone like mata to take charge. united at the moment seem like a beaten team, a bunch of beaten players. these were the very players who simply steam rolled thru the PL last season. all they need is a change in mentality and someone to give them a bit of a hope. look what has happened to arsenal. the same team (literally) which struggled to get top 4 is sitting right at the top of the table with 22 matches having been played. thats what a player like mata/ozil can do. we will have to agree to disagree here. these "trends" in football are shortlived. in the end you need a team which has its own "system", its own "personality and character". i dont fault mourinho for not using mata. mou wanted to build a team for long term and he is doing exactly that. he wants it to be "his team" and every player to play in a certain way. which is all good. but to say that mata cant be the person who we can build a team around is simply, to put it lightly NOT CORRECT. MATA is a quality player. i think we have forgotten the extent of his genius and what he has done for us. this guy was the same player that was our POTY when we won a CL, an FA cup and an EL. that is massive. no one who does not have "quality" can do that. you can talk about mourinho's system or the latest trend in football of pressing and winning the ball back, but the truth is that, there is no single mantra for success. and in the end, its all about success. how did chelsea win the CL, how did inter milan? you are right about mata being an old-school no.10, but you hugely underestimate his importance. mata is great at breaking down defences and creating chances. for a team like united who have rvp and rooney, that is similar to hitting gold. u can talk about pressing and the "trend" but in a league except for the top 5 teams, most just park the bus and that is where mata comes in.
-
Mata is a fan's favourite not only cos he is a good player but also cos he seems to be a great guy. i have no doubt that he would be a dressing room favourite too among all the players. the way we have and are treating him is just disgraceful. if players are supposed to be loyal to the club then the club is also supposed to be loyal to them. this move is going to back-fire very badly. u just know it.
-
good that the bid is just 35mil... we definitely wont sell him for anything lesser than 40mil. minimum.
-
oh really? so messi against us was a case of what??? confidence is an integral part of any sports personality's game. u take that away from a world class striker and we dont need to go far to know what he becomes.
-
moses, marin, piazon we have a lot of options. dont forget we have already recalled the french messi, KAKUTA. i think CL is ours. also while we sell off mata and kdb, we should give an extension to essien and hilario and ba and torres.
-
Juan Mata's created 30 chances this season, six more than Oscar. Considering the fact he hasn't even had half the game time, that's holy. now that's pure QUALITY. and this guy will be feeding to the likes of rooney and rvp.
-
55 assists and 33 goals in the last 2 years while playing in the PL itself. dont know how you can say that they are better for united than mata is. united under saf were playing thru wings, what moyes wants to do is still unknown. all your post is on the assumption that mata is not suited for united more than these "fast players" and i disagree. more than wing players, united right now need some1 who can give them control of the match and the ball. they got beat at it by hull, norwich and swansea (with all due respect).
-
no. the post was to say what our decision would be when their our tough and big fixtures in the future and a club like chelsea have to think of that since it is likely that we would reach the semi of fa cup and CL. or atleast we hope. where does the loaning out thing come in here?
-
i know, u r liking what you are reading in this thread, watching everyone go nuts over this. i just hope this is not a joke of some sort.
-
4 of those 5 players WILL play every important and big match. u dont want rambo playing a semi-final against spurs in fa cup, then semi against RM in CL and then play right wing against say sunderland. right now we have 4 players for those 3 positions. if u want to buy a left footed player who can play wide, less than what mata costs, should not have a problem sitting with a bench and also be of chelsea quality... name me a player.
-
i am not fucking kidding any1. i watched the game and hence i used "more effective" with oscar and willian and hence i used "we can be more flexible". try and read and understand others point of view too. oh wait must be hard for mr. i-am-the-best-chelsea-fan-ever. i dont have that authority but it seems so weird coming from some1 who goes about giving judgement on club's youth policy towards chalobah and club's finances like u actually have a part in it. hazard and oscar and JT and cech were used too in all the 3 PL defeats. everton defeat had jack-squat to do with mata. we dominated, could not convert one on ones and open goals (schurrle and etoo) and were conceded due to a defensive brain fart of luiz. newcastle, the team a a whole looked flat. your references to the games he started simply say what my point is, SQUAD DEPTH. so let me get this straight out, u want a system, which relies on the tremondous workrate of every player involved on the pitch to be continued to employed with absolutely no back-up and replacements? well seems fair to me. sell schurrle too.
-
how does it change with mata? we played a perfectly fine 4-2-3-1 against soton away. it was still 0-0 and far less effective than with oscar but the system was the same. plus with a good CDM like matic, we can become far more flexible with our system and to be honest i have not seen a single team who can play the same way with its first 11 and with its squad players. thats what we have with mata and get with mata. and i am sure i dont need to tell u about the QUALITY he brings to the team. i thought the squad players specially the ones like bertrand are kept for cup games. which he played really well!!! but u know what keep deluding yourself with 64minutes!!! somehow it makes u happy, i see. as far as i remember mata was rumored to be subject to a bid of 35mil in the summer (psg). i would even take a 30mil bid from psg than 40mil from united. the reality is that mata has started 11 PL games this season and has been a substitute for 2 of them in 22 games (also one of those substitution was against tottenham in which we played a massive part in turning the game around). so the reality is that mata has started half of our PL games, would be starting more regularly when we have CL nights, FA cup matches, replays and normal fixture congestion.
-
so we are going to drop a perfectly fit and fine system and change our game from 4-2-3-1 to 4-3-3 cos we dont have what? thats right depth in the region. which makes perfect sense to me cos why do u need consistency when u can simply toy and change the system every game. right? and rambo on the wings seems delicious to me. we should definitely play him there against palace and stoke cos who needs flair players to break down defences when u can have makeshift AMs. 8 defenders. so that would mean kalas and ake have played a role in our season so far which would be???? oh wait!!!! or we can simply sell an asset who by the way might be just the thing to revive the dying embers of the most successful team in the PL history rather than using him for us, cos as far as i see it, the business end of the season is still pretty much left. add to that the fact that he would go for the same amount in the summer or probably 5mil less which could actually be used to buy a striker who would be available rather than a.simply depleting our own squad b. giving united a lifeline c.what can we do with this money right now? buy players we dont need!!! seems like a very good deal to me.
-
i dint object to KDB cos we had enough depth even without him. without mata we have schurrle ONLY. but since we have been down this road before, i am not going to go there again. somehow u feel 6 defenders for 4 positions and 4 AMs for 3 positions is adequate and that injuries and rotation is a mythological thing. mata has been used and he will be used. it weakens us cos it means that our first team players will have to play against derby and stoke in fa cup matches instead of keeping them fresh for PL and CL games.
-
well said.
-
mata DOES weaken our squad. only half the season is over. the main part of the season is left. plus when u r challenging for titleS, u need quality in depth which mata provides to us. a 40mil offer is not hard to turn down when u see who the bidder is. united have been poor but they still have players like rvp and rooney who can turn the season around specially when u consider them playing along with mata. if united get top 4 cos of that, then the next season they will have something like this ------------------rvp--------------- ---janujaz----rooney----mata-------- -----carrickc------new CM----- new CM can be some1 like cabaye/gundogan/matuidi. we are not just helping them rebuild, we are literally giving them a lifeline here. as for the 40mil, suppose mata comes back from the world cup, and is then subject to a bid of 30-35mil from psg/atm/some team. how much of a difference does this 5mil make to us? also u keep saying the 40mil will strengthen us, but tell me how it does that this season. who can we buy to replace him with that money in this window that can help us get PL.
-
what signing? tell me how it strengthens our squad right now and with what signing exactly? and since RM and PSG are ineviyably going to strengthen, lets sell them hazard and oscar too. with the 100mil and 40mil... we can probably strengthen ourselves even more.
-
reus is a BVB player, draxler is a schalke player, robben is a bayern player and di maria is an RM player. we cant do anything about those guys. what we can and should do is not willingly and stupidly help the most successful team in the premier league history (one which has won 20 PL titles and about 12/13 in the last 20 years). like i said, that is plain stupid.
-
i saw the RM match last night and it really looked nothing like a 4-3-3. it was pretty much a 4-2-3-1 with modric-illaramendi playing the pivot. CR on the LW, bale on the RW and maria thru the center. i maybe wrong there but after watching the match, that is what i would say. also i had heard a lot about di maria getting the boot since RM has the world's 2 best wingers but week after week it has been di maria that has consistently been starting the matches (bale injury in the start, CR injury after that and now he has totally displaced isco out of the CAM position, specially after the athletico match). we DID NOT have a settled trio. the defensive problems with MAZACAR was pretty evident for every1. plus towards the end of the last season oscar on the RW was not good. hence the required changes. as of this moment, we have a balanced trio of AMs and for the first time in years, have a CDM who can complement them, but now we want to disturb it all so as to get reus/mr. x /mr. Y. also i would want players who play for the batch. the blue lion with the pole. reus seems to be a BVB player, on the other hand we have a POTY for the last 2 seasons who we are selling to our rivals. just not done.
-
if mata is leaving (still cant believe this can be possible), we just need to rest our AMs for the main matches. schwarzer iva kalas DL cole matic mikel lamps schurrle BA hazard. go for 4-3-3.
-
and who would reus displace in the trio of hazard-oscar-willian. wait a very successful trio of hazard-oscar-willian. u simply just dont tinker with a combo (which by the way took 4 months to be found out) and simply throw it out of the window. thats not the way real football works. as for di maria, lets not even go there. madrid play 4-2-3-1 and have CR, bale, di maria and isco as there only options along with jese. plus carlo has already said that there will be no departures.
-
i still dont get it. mata should leave us cos he is WC and deserves more than just sitting on the bench. but we want to replace him with reus/di maria who are also WC and who would also be sitting on the bench.
-
biggest mistake in our transfer history for me.
