Even if we don't get the big name CMs, we still might need to buy a CM. Rambo, matic, mvg(a 21 year old who has started 2 games!!!) are our only sure shot options for CMs for the next year with a 36 year old lamps and a mikel who can't buy a start under mou as our back up options (both of them might not be any part for that matter). Even 20mil on someone like lars bender would make more sense to me than 25mil on varane with JT, GC, DL, zouma plus kalas, ake, omerou as youth options.

why? We already bought zouma for half of the rumored value of varane. Plus we have some of our own young talents like ake, kalas, chalobah. If we can buy kroos/pogba/vidal/witsel?, we directly become an almost perfect team. I don't think buying a CB would even be on jose's list.

FT9 is still here cos of FFP (contrary to popular belief). its easier said that "get him off the wage bill" as he would make room plus we "can use his transfer funds for another striker" but the reality is absolutely different. when we amortize FT's transfer fee (50mil) over his contract (5.5 years) it comes close to 9 mil per season. Plus lets say his wages are 10 mil. hence for the whole 2013-14 season FT costed us 19mil. if suppose FT was sold in this summer (2013 summer). then he balance value (27 million for the left 3 years of his contract would have been charged on us thru FFP). plus suppose we sold him for 10mil. hence incurring a loss of 17mil, and also losing a striker. now if we had bought someone for 30mil at 6mil wages, he would have costed us another 12mil for this season, hence bringing the total cost of one striker upto close to 30mil for one season compared to the 19 mil torres is costing us for the season. now, if we sell him in 2014 summer, he would cost us 18mil. again lets say he was sold for 10mil,hence a loss of 8mil. plus suppose we buy costa/mandzukic for 30mil at 6/7mil per year wages, then the total account for one striker comes upto be 8+6+6=20mil, compared to the 19mil he will cost us next season. hence, let us give our board a little respect and benefit of doubt or atleast not ridicule them for what they are doing.

(this is the summary version) cech - world class keeper, we might have 2 WC keepers, jose will have to decide between who to keep between 2 WC keepers, cech is becoming a little error prone,,, world class keeper so on and so forth hazard - oh awesome, just awesome, next ballon d'or, blah blah blah... oscar - workrate, workrate, class, quality, "out of form", fatigued", work rate work rate... etc etc azpi - brilliant, workhorse, wall, should be no.1, player of the season... etc etc. GC- brilliant, really improved, has become WC, next JT etv etc MATIC - awesome, tackles, interceptions, best DM, yaya toure etc etc JT- CLL, CLL, CLL, CLL, CLL, CLL except for luiz (has massively underperformed this year, specially considering the high at which he finished last season), mikel (has underperformed for years now, and there is no denying his limitations) and torres (he has been decent this season but considering the fact that people have lost all faith and belief in him after his game after game of shit performances, who can blame them). hence i would say this is very much a CHELSEA FORUM. and a good one at that. out of 22-25 people squad, their will always be underperformers who will be singled out. the above 3 are those for us. Kdb won the bundesliga player of the year or somethin last season. There were rumors about bvb wanting to sign kdb for 20-25 (which was in anyway greater than the 16 we have got for him). I am sure we wouldn't have mind letting him go to any bundesliga club if our coffers were being filled
