  1. I love Kalou! YES he can frustate the hell out of me during games but I love his commitment to the team. The stats shown in the original post are great for a squad player. I'm saying for him to start every game but it would be pointless to get rid of him. Squad depth is something we lacked last year and it cost us, would you agree? Let's not make the same mistake twice. That's why we love Salomon Kalou!
  2. I will admit I haven't seen much of him but it sounds as though he was a very important player to AVB in Porto's season. There's the whole "But Torres is with us" argument but reading some of your posts he sounds like a completely different sort of striker. Squad depth ftw
  3. Woah!!!! Only just noticed this, (been on holiday for a week) this is great! Thanks so much :blue scalf:
  4. Well done Sh0n3x! :champions: I'm sure you will do a fantastic job as a mod (Side note to the staff, thanks very much for keeping me involved to this late a stage, very honored) :blue scalf:
  5. Vedran gets a vote from me :blue scalf:
  6. My Campaign topic why you should vote GZ
  7. If Nasri goes to Man Utd, I can see us going for Sneijder
  8. Car of the tournament at last World Cup
  9. Ignoring the Halo bit at the beginning, this is me if we don't make a move for Nasri too...
  10. I know it's controversial but I think Alex is the BEST Central defender at the club... Problem is you can't replace Terry's leadership at all... if it wasn't for that Alex would be one of the first names on the team sheet for me.
  11. Welcome to forums! Hope you stick around :blue scalf:
  12. I sort of see where you're coming from but I also disagree. To let go of a man like Jose was a massive blow, but we could see it was a power struggle and it would have been messier had it gone on longer. Villain of the season is harsh though, as much as some of the decisions he makes, make me scratch my head but look where he has got us... we've got to be grateful really... Under the circumstances we have a very good owner :blue scalf:
  13. "TalkChelsea is not in a crisis..." Thanks all for the kind words, greatly appreciated :tophat:
  14. The Inbetweeners, very nice! :champions: This is going to go on aaaaalllllll summer and I'm already sick of his name a very interesting transfer window we have ahead of us
  15. Haha Vedran you piece of shit, we made it to the elections! This is war
  16. Oh wow, only just noticed this. Firstly, thanks to the staff for picking me out to campaign, didn't expect to reach this stage. My real name is Matt Huggins, I'm 20 years old and I live about 30mins outside of London, this is me: A family friendly kind of guy I remember first coming to this forum when I was about 14-15 and it was a great feeling to chat with fellow blues... I've made from great friends from here too in people like Cara, Ollie, Vedran, Mike, Kez & loads more. It's to me like a huge family. And my god, how this family has grown over the years. Jim has been the architect of all this, fantastic achievement and a slick looking forum "Tell us more GZ" I hear you shout eagerly. Well, here is a Q&A for my campaign. Q: Why should we vote for you instead of LDN, Sh0n3x or True_Blue. A: A good question. LDN & Sh0n3x are great candidates. True_Blue touched me in unmentionable places because he is that kind of a guy... He had to see this guy for weeks They're all great members of this forum and you'd be lucky to have any one of them as a moderator. What I think is important about this job is to let everyone do their thing. The banter and debate on here is fantastic and nobody wants to see this change. I have seen other Chelsea forums (to remain unnamed) that have almost a dictatorship on members posts. YOUR opinion COUNTS, I understand this as well as anyone. One thing that makes this forum so wonderful and unique is that members can express themselves to the forum on any sort of subject. I really believe this makes the forum work extremely well. Q: What kind of approach would you take to this job? Do you have any experience? A: I'm going to say a fairly relaxed approach. Before the alarm bells start ringing in your head I'll tell you why. Whoever is elected, there is no reason to shove your weight around. This forum is a well mannered place which doesn't often see THAT much trouble. I would keep everything going the way it is joining in with the banter and debate. How it should be. Of course there will be occasional trouble from time to time, it's one of my strengths to be able to step back from a situation and consider the right course action. I can promise to be tight though on anti-semitism, racism or any kinds of discrimination. It's ugly and no one wants to see it anywhere. Relevant experience? In terms of moderating, hardly any. One thing I can say for myself though, is that I'm a fast learner. Watching staff members like BL, Steve, Jim etc have taught me a lot about this job and I feel I have a good relationship with them. Q: GZ, can I have your number? A: Now's not the time or the place. Buy me a drink later. Q: Can you tell us more about yourself? A: Sure. Chelsea-wise I've been a fan since '97 and my first game was Liverpool at home. We won 1-0 that day, the fixture will always hold a special place in my heart. I've been going as regularly as I can, but in recent years that has slowed down due to work and University commitments. I'll give you only 1 guess to my alltime favorite player =] I'm off to Portsmouth University in September this year to study TV & Broadcasting. I love filmmaking, presenting radio shows & commentating for local football team (Wycombe Wanderers), Socializing (Drinking then...) and playing/watching the beautiful game we call Badminton Final Statement I may not be as active as I have been in previous years but I am always still on the forum. If you vote for me I can promise you another fun & sensible Moderator. I also promise to help the staff carry on the great job they have been doing in improving the forum. I care what the members say, I care about YOUR OPINION. Without you the forum would be nothing. It would be a great Privilege to work for TalkChelsea, the forum that I've grown to love over the years. Vote GZ - A Moderator FOR the Members Please feel free to ask me anything else, I'm more than happy to answer anymore questions Thanks, GZ :blue scalf:
  17. Hiddink is tactically brilliant. Remember when he stopped Barcelona IMO that was incredible, I know we didn't go through but we made the best team in Europe look average over 2 legs. Cannot wait for him to make his own squad too
  18. IMO Alex is technically a better CB than Terry, but the leadership is something else you need to have. It would be horrible if we sold him.
  19. I would love this signing to happen, need a spark in our slow midfield
