  1. If thats the case then we are gonna struggle as we need to get to a stage where we do'nt have to rely on Roman to be a huge club and I doubt if we can achieve that in the current stadium....
  2. I'm not comparing him to Kalou they are totally different players just a similar age and were signed at a similar time....When I think a few years back he was completely dominating the midfield when he played and I always thought his name should have been first on the team sheet. I really thought he could be world class, granted he could still achieve that as he is not yet in his peak years......
  3. He must have the ability, but thier are alot of factors on whether he will make it at the very top level. Being young and coming half way across the world will be a culture shock to him. Plus off the field nowdays is important for young players, lets hope they don't let Ashley Cole look after him!!!!!
  4. He is a good player but both he and Kalou seem to have gone backwards the last few years and thier progress has stalled. That said they do posess the required ability and hopefully both can get back to the standards that they are capable of...Its a no brainer selling either of them though due to thier age, we have to keep them.
  5. We will never be able to compete with the revenues of Arsenal, Man Utd and Liverpool(when they get back in the champs league) unless we either move to a new stadium or offer naming rights.... I worry if we move to a 60,000 seater stadium we will not sell it out unless we are competing for the league and CL (Blackburn game), plus the expense of a new stadium around the Chelsea area would be huge.....naming rights is the way forward....
  6. The good thing is that we now have a few options re: players and tactics for this one. Remember though Stokes phyiscal approach to games and Delaps loooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnngggggggg throwins - maybe 2 of Terry/Ivanovic/Alex at the back for this with Luiz at right back to counter Ethrington....3 of Mikel/Lampard/Essien and Ramires in midfield, with any combination of strikers should be fine...
  7. I changed my opinion of that guy now - what he saying there is very intelligent and spot on espcially about Yossi.
  8. If Redknapp gets the job after Capello though - theres no way he will retire. All the England players will want to play for him instead of that Hitler Capello.
  9. Totally agree. Yes nice bloke, always gives a big effort and loyalty but £60k a week for our 3rd choice right back - come on guys......
  10. Yes I agree he is committed and seems a decent bloke. However are we all missing the fact here he that he is apparently on £60k a week and is the worst player in our squad??. Of course he wants to see out his contract on that as he will only get about £10k max with a move. He also said he has plans after football, so is obvioulsly saving up for that...
  11. As terminator x just said, the banner was a publicity stunt.
  12. Plastic fans cause they forget the man who did good for them one year ago. Plastic fans is a better term for what you are getting at. You are correct in what you are saying but a manager is only as good as his last game. On your theory if we lost every game now till the end of the season Ancellotti should still not get sacked because of what he achieved last year??
  13. Thats a fair point, but I think your missing what a glory hunter really is. A glory hunter is someone who changes thier team at the drop of hat to whoever is performing the best at that current time. On that basis all the "glory hunters" would have switched thier alligence to Man Utd...
  14. Apparently he had been waiting there for hours.......probably was not right in the head.....
  15. What me posting the banners or me in the Harding stand??
  16. To be fair that was one bloke by himself....He probably just wanted his picture in the papers... Re: glory hunters....If you compare the atmosphere at the bridge now to when we had terracing in the shed and benches in the west stand it is terrible.Only the die hards seem to go in the Harding stand these days. That is due to our recent success and cosmopolitan London, people who's family are not Chelsea will just support who the best team is at the time and will pay top whack to see them. Unfortunately the true fans are priced out of the game now....
  17. Totally agree. For me we should not even be debating this, the guy is top drawer and has it all. Defensive postioning and awareness, heading, left foot, right foot, short passing, long passing, shooting, strength, distribution, pace and tackling. Ok he was a very reckless in his first few games but a defender has to adjust to the league he is in. Look at his displays against Blackpool and Man City, he showed intelligence, tackled at the right time and defended correctly. What he also provides is the starting point for our counter attacks...with Terry/Alex/Ivanovic at centre half this would not happen.. When you take his age into account if he can stay injury free can be a big player for us for a decade...
  18. That is true, but on the other side of the coin he has proven world class ability and is in the prime of his career. To be fair to him though he is not getting the chances by his team mates. He has had 1 decent through ball his entire Chelsea career (Luiz against Fulham).
  19. Remember though a fair amount of that will be recouped by his shirt sales over the remainder of his contract IF he starts scoring goals..
  20. Lets just cement 4th place first and then we can all look forward. The good thing is that the players are all fit and we are running into some nice form. If Carlo can get the team selection balance right (when to introduce Yossi and Alex), we have a good chance in both competitions. Don't wanna sound pessimistic here but not having Luiz avaiable in CL severely hampers our chances.
  21. Totally agree with this, Yossi has a football brain similar to Torres. I just pray that Malouda is the one to make way. I would argue though that he had a fair few chances against Fulham also (Luiz through ball)
  22. I think Anelka will see out his contract with us before he leaves. I think we may get a few people interested in Malouda hopefully as he is a main player in the France team. The problem with getting rid of Paulo will be his high wages, he will have to agree in a drop to get a move. He always gives 100% but he is not good enough..
  23. Anelka and Malouda are the ones we will sell hopefully.
  24. Have you heard that Mcvities have just bought out a new biscuit range called "clitoris creams". They guarantee one lick and you'll wanna eat the box"!!!! Fulham Broadway thats for you......
