A wage of £6million a year will always attract people to the job.....
-
At the end of the day it is the paying fans whose opinions count the most.....
-
The powers that be will take more notice of the people in the stands because they are paying the huge ticket prices that keep the club going.
-
If we let him go for nothing then someone needs a big kick up the arse, espcially if we end up offering Bosingwa a longer deal. What I have seen of that boy he looks the business - maybe Torres could learn off him!!
-
Does anyone know the deal with Borini, is he definately gone this summer??
-
Disagree, he gave the ball away against Newcastle more than any other player. That said he also played the most dangerous passes of any of the midfield players. So I guess that balances it up. I think Josh will be a great player, but he either has to play every week for us or send him out on loan. I agree he certainly is capable ability wise but stuck on the bench for a few cameos is no good for him.
-
That would not happen with O Neill......has already managed a big club in Celtic and learn't from the master Brian Clough....
-
I've said O Neill for ages, got Celtic to the Uefa final where they only lost to Mourinho's Porto, always done well in PL and has experience of managing big names. Moyes does a good job year in year out at Everton....I agree I think they are both better managers than Carlo but just from judging Roman's mindset since he has been here I don't think he will go for them...
-
I'm not against changing Carlo, but who is gonna be a better propostion that will take the job?
-
My thoughts exactly. Very good potential but needs to cut out the errors in giving the ball away. Regular football will do this for him..
-
His attitude could be a problem, has blown up at both Newcastle and Wigan....will need a strong manager to keep him in line...
-
Who would you like to see get the job that would realistically take it??
-
Drogba has to play up front in this game. Distin will have Torres on toast in his current form.....
-
The thing we also have to remember here is that Chelsea is NOT run in the way all the other clubs are due to our owner. Our longest serving manager under Roman lasted just over 3 seasons (Mourinho) and look at what he had to win to keep his job. As soon as it started to go pear shaped early in season 4 he was out without a chance to correct it. This can't continue for 2 reasons - it is proven that manager longevity brings sucess long term and with the new financial rules we CANT keep sacking the manager every other season. Whether it is Carlo in charge or not, the manager in charge next season must be given at least 3 seasons in the job even if we don't win anything in that period. Provided of course we are not fighting relegation and are out of the champs league every year......
-
I worry that if he gives away a goal his confidence will suffer. He will be a good player, is better than Yossi already. We need to decide to either integrate him as one of our top 4 midfield players or get him out on loan in the PL for a season. This being a sub all the time with hardly anytime on the pitch is hampering his development....
-
I'm getting really concerned about Torres now, every centre half he plays against seems to have him in thier pocket. He is making no impact on oppostion defences and if we sell Drogba in the summer it will be a disaaster, as like him or not he makes things happen. That said I will reserve judgment on Torres until the end of next season.....
-
Have not read through the thread, so apologies if this has been mentioned but my thoughts on Josh are: Very good technical ability, can see a pass others in our midfield can't. The problem with him is that he gives the ball away to often (he did at least 3 times yeasterday, and I remember against Villa when he came on and Reo Coker nearly scored). What he needs is a full season in the premier as a regualr starter on loan. Bolton would be ideal for him....
-
Bet he wont start him. I think if we are winning at half time he will bring him on....
-
Torres confirmed to start on the website, also Bertrand injured so no chance for him to play some part...
-
Exactly....At home with no pressure, Yossi and Torres have to play the full 90 mins to give us an indication to whether Yossi can be one of the two creative players we so desperately require next season....... I have a sneaky feeling he may give Bertrand some time on the pitch also at left back.....Cole needs a rest as he has dropped recently.....
-
Plus the prick makes up a name for himself like the other twat Nani. How about we refer to him not as "little pea" but as "little cunt"....
-
Agree except if one man is available. A certain Mr Mourinho, his odds keep shortening with the bookies so there must be some truth to him coming back....
-
I think 2 new faces will do the job. The defence is solid. Ramires, Essien or Mikel can hold the midfield. lets get rid of Anelka, Zhikov and Bosingwa to reduce the wage bill.....
-
I agree totally, but I don't want to see us splashing around huge sums on players, espcially with the new rules coming into play next year. I hope we can just tweak things a bit - get a few big earners out and bring in a couple of creative players......Intergrate Josh, Sturridge and possibly Kakuta next year........this is going to be the most interesting close season for Chelsea fans since the start of the Roman era......

Zola's possible return to Stamford Bridge?

It makes huge sense to have him back, a true chelsea man. While we are at it can we also nick Steve Clarke off Liverpool??
