  1. His energy is fantastic, is all over the pitch. Reminds me of Essien a few years ago in some ways. Final ball is sometimes lacking but he deserves to be in the side ahead of Essien at the moment
  2. The other point is if we miss out on champs league this year, what will our accounts look like??. Due to the new rules coming in will we be able to get back in as our debt will be to high??
  3. IF and it is a big if Carlo can get the right tactics and formula right we could have a really strong finish to the season. We have Man Ure and City coming up, win both of those and we are right back on track. If we have a bit of luck in the later stages of the champs league and get some key decisions in our favour(we are due some) we can win it. It can all change round very quickly plus what's to say Man City and Spurs dont tail off after a bad run??. Come on Chels it is still in our hands, we can do it!!!
  4. I think the pressure is getting to Torres - must be so difficult for him not to be taken in by the negative press he is getting.
  5. Zola is the best forward, but as an out and out striker I would go with Dixon...not old enough to have watched Tambling or Greaves.....Vialli or Hughes would have rivaled Dixon for me but did not really play for us long enough...Durie might be worth a mention, but as he went to Spurs I dont think you will get many takers!!!! Midfielder has to be Wise, don't think anyone could top him
  6. Josh Mc to start in the centre instead of lamps??
  7. I get the impression from Carlo though that apart from the odd game Malouda's position is cemented in the side, the same with Essien.
  8. Its not just the press, every opposing fan hates us due to the money we have spent and Jealously that Abramovich did not buy them. I can remember going to watch us under Porterfield and Dave Webb(showing me age here!!) and we were awful...if you would have said to me then that in 15 to 20 years we would be competing with ALL english and European clubs I would have been amazed,,,,,
  9. pretty sure that no one has won it 3 years in a row??? - would be a good achievement.
  10. I would'nt say he is better than Malouda, but to be fair he has not had a run in the side in his more natural position on the left of a front 3.
  11. Roman seems to have alot of faith in him, previous managers have been sacked for a lot better results. We have already lost 7 league games this season - it seems carlo is banking everything on the champs league, a risky business in a knockout tournement...
  12. what will happen if we have to sack him before the end of the season??. Who realistically already on the coaching staff could take the reigns??
  13. Josh Mc could do that if he was just given a chance
  14. If fit he should be on that pitch for 90 minutes, thats the only way he will regain his form and confidence.
  15. True he is a nice guy but i don't think he has it tactically. Look at last season in the champs league at the Bridge against Inter, when we were crying out for something different. He and Wilkins looked confused and clueless on the bench. Yes getting rid of Wilkins has hurt us and it was not Carlo's decision but he should be doing better. Losing 7 league games already this season(the same number as Birmingham) is just not acceptable. He turned it round last year but I think his luck has ran out. If you consider what previous managers have been sacked for surely he is on borrowed time.
  16. Why does Carlo keep persisting with Anelka??. He keeps coming inside and leaving the right flank totally exposed. If he is hell bent on 4-3-3 then Torres can play on the right with Drogba through the middle. We need Drogba's physical presence centrally. Also Anelka is very slow mentally, always needs at least 3 seconds on the ball and doesn't release it quick enough. I think even Sturridge or Kakuta would be better than Anelka but that is for next season I guess
  17. I see your point, but feel that we are really missing a trick by not playing Drogba and Torres up front together. Torres touch was woeful last night but his movement was very good. I think if we combine that with Drogba's strength and touch we can really look to score some goals. If Carlo would just revert to a standard 4-4-2 with Malouda on the left and Kalou/Essien/Ramires on the right I think we will flow
  18. Will become a good centre half for us. The full game he had in the league against Villa was impressive. The OG was a foul as Heskey was all over the back on him.
  19. Carlo should go NOW....his insistance on playing Anelka is going to cost us dear this year....He kept coming inside and the right flank was totally exposed. Drogba and Torres can play up front together but only with balance on the wings. Malouda has to play on the left and Kalou,Essien or even Ramires has to occupy the right.
