We have 4 home league games this season remaining - he needs to play 90 mins of all of those games as he is still loved at the bridge and the pressure is less.
-
The worrying thing with Roman is that he is prone to snap decisions that have big implications....look at the way we were getting our house in order financially and that in Jan Boom he goes and splashes the cash again because his patience wore thin....he has not made the knee jerk reaction over Ancellotti after the other night, but a few bad league results could see him gone very soon.....To be honest I don't think Ancellotti is that bothered either way....
-
Get Martin o Neill in, that guy is a great motivator...
-
ANELKA - that prick could not care less about Chelsea - have you noticed when he is subbed he never even jogs off always walks......
-
:goodpost: But we will have to pay Anelka off the last year of his contract
-
has the Predigree but run the risk of another Capello....
-
Why not go for an established PL manager - Martin o Neill....
-
Possibly but Torres is 27 and Lampard is 33. Centre midfield is alot more demanding position......
-
But Ancellotti has been proven to be tatically inferior to Fergusen and Mourinho since being at Chelsea. His champs league results could have been obtained if any one of us where manager....
-
I think you both have some valid points here. Forget Drogba's age though, he started pro football very late and is a strong and fit athlete. He can play at the top level for another 2 years. I think Carlo's buys have been very good and don't disagree with any of them. As Fergusen said today, any team would have wanted Torres, he is a proven world class striker who is now at peak age. It is easy for us to judge but we do not know what goes on behind the scenes at Chelsea, what restrictions Ancellotti is working to. I can see your point about not giving Ancellotti just the one year, our young players have truely suffered due to his approach....I don't think Sturridge will come back if Carlo stays as manager plus why the hell have we not Signed Borini up to a long deal, he will be class in a few years... Guys - just wanted people to have a look at the below points and see if it makes up or changes peoples opinion of Ancellotti: In his first season he won the double - The league was won with a low points total(the lowest for 6 years I believe) and we scored over 100 league goals. He got us to the last 16 in the CL where he was outthought and tactically inferior to Mourhino falling at the first hurdle (you could argue that had the blatant pen in Milan against Kalou been given then things may have been different). In his second season to date Wilkins his assistant was sacked without his approval. The side are currently sit 3rd in the PL with 7 games to go(with no realistic chance of winning the league) The season started brightly but we tailed off and personell remained the same. All our promising youngsters were loaned out without being given a fair chance (Bruma, Kakuta, Sturridge, Van Aoholt) He got us to the last 8 of the CL where again over 2 legs where he was outdone this time by Fergusen (Again you could argue that if the pen against Ramires was given things may have been different) In his time at Chelsea notable sigings are Benyaoun, Torres, Luiz and Ramires....notable departures are J Cole, Ballack, Deco, Cavalho and Belleti... He has 1 year left of his contract. Personally I would give him that year and money to spend - he will then have had 3 chances at the CL league and the players he has bought for us have been good even if he fails...
-
I aint read through the entire thread but no Benayoun at all in the match?? - WTF......it was the usual story for us, plenty of the ball but hardly any meaningful chances.
-
So on that basis lets offer him another 5 yr contract!!. Frank was superb for us over that period - no one can deny that but we have to move on and the time is now. The geezer is getting 150k a week thats £7.8 million a year. In the current climate with the new rules coming into play we cant be paying wages like that for players who cant produce any more agianst the big teams. I would like Frank to stay and play a smaller role next year as he is an ambassodor to the club, but not on those wages...
-
We have to give a performance tonight of which we can be proud. If we don't get the result and everyone on here can agree 2morrow that the players gave everything they had then fine....
-
Bench Torres for the rest of the season...
steve5221 replied to Henri's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
He can play this year although the most important thing is to keep the 4-3-3 formation. Drogba should be the No 1 striker this term with Torres filling in him for him if need be. Torres can play on the right of him though and drift in with Malouda on the left. -
They are bottom of the PL and we are at home FFS, If we don't win this game we may aswell give up....
-
Interesting but I would like to see the stats for goals per minutes on the pitch of these strikers...On that report basis he is worse than Pizarro!!!. Also says that Forlan took TWENTY SEVEN games to score a goal.....
-
If it was me I would actually get the Drogba click back playing till the end of the season in a 4-3-3 and explain to Torres that he will not be in the team till next year. That way we can put them in the shop window for the summer....In hindsight we should have signed him next summer, but Roman panicked when the wheels started to fall off....
-
The ego's are to big....look at all succesful striking partnerships over the course of time and one of them has to play the second striker role and be happy with.....4-4-2 is a thing of the past though it has to be 4-3-3-, 4-5-1 these days..... Due to Drogba;s age I think he has to be the one to make way - very harsh on him as he has been the nuts for us but he has to go in the summer...
-
Ferdinand is a hypocritcal c**t, he should do what he is best at, assisting the police in operation trident....
-
I have changed my opinion of him a bit. We do not know what goes up behind the scenes with Roman so his job is very hard. if he gets us top 4 then keep him. We need to start to learn that sacking managers is not the way forward....
-
He never hit the post, Drogba did. Fact is he is not sharp enough or up to it at the moment. We should revert back to our usual 4-3-3 with Drogba up front until the summer. We need to buy a few players that will compliment him. That said Wigan at home on Sat is the perfect game for him.
-
In the modern game it has to be 4-3-3 or 4-5-1..... Seeing as he have spent 50 million on Torres, we have to build the team around him in a 4-5-1 formation. That would also get the best out of Lampard. As has been said we need a right and left midfielder with Malouda, Drogba and Anelka sold.....
-
That cunt aint intelligent enough to come up with something like that......he was probably pointing to one of his prostitutes who has recently died of old age!!!!
-
Since we bought Torres, there has been a problem with the Drogba "click". If we can we should look to offload all of them in the summer and start to rebuild....
