Can't be much worse than now. We need to sell Malouda, Anelka perhaps even Drogba so we can bring in talented players, will ease pressure on new comers, make players want to come here (because they'd know that they won't get to play if old guys are still here)

I think referee has been good. The incident with Torres being fouled - he played an advantage but Lampard just shot, so that's a chance gone. That one was our fault, and all the fouls given against us have been fair. Ramires deserved a yellow long ago, with that crunching tackle near Newcastle's penalty box. Face it, we were absolutely rubbish. Ramires-Lampard-McEachran isn't working. McEachran has been in the picture, hasn't done anything necessarily wrong but hasn't done anything spectacular either. Lampard has been the only one from midfield worthy a mention. Anelka has been as always, no spark, bit lazy movement. Torres has been really bad. Today he isn't even bothering to make runs (for example the Cole cross, which was driven in) and made silly mistakes (lost the ball on multiple occasions) On a positive note, Ivanovic has been brilliant in my eyes. I think this game proves that this isn't managers fault. It's the squad - the age, the attitude and the motivation level. I'm sorry but Ancelotti's talk of "don't need many changes" is wrong, we'd be making this mistake all over again, like we've done last season and season before. We need fresh blood, perhaps 3-5 signings (includes Sturridge, he'll feel like a new signing) and letting players go. Personally I just can't see us continueing like this. Frustrating.
-
But the squad is really good, many star players, we only need a few quality creative players and we are set, no need for an overhaul. In that sense Carlo is spot on with 'Carlo lovers'. In my opinion ' Carlo haters' just try to grab onto anything to mock him..

I'd rather sell Drogba, Malouda and Anelka (would help with all the FFP bs kicking in) then reship Sturridge to Bolton. With Neymar Sturridge Torres Kalou would be nice, perhaps another winger. Kakuta isn't ready for this, he needs to have a proper loan out, the benchwarming at Fulham isn't helping him.
-
Kakuta should be loned out, no way he'll get a chance when Neymar's coming and probably rightly so because he needs to build more confidence and experience in EPL before he should be given a proper chance
-
Juan Mata, plays for Valencia and Spain Cech VDW - Terry - Luiz/Ivanovic - A.Cole Essien/Mikel Neymar - Lampard/Ramires - Sanchez/Mata Torres/Drogba
-
Win, surely. Hope we'll play some youngsters
-
Compared to Ivanovic and Essien he is a boy but I get your point mate
-
In theory Hernandez should be blown away by the likes of Ivanovic, Essien etc but in reality what he lacks in physique he makes up in speed, agility and thats exactly what we need
-
Absolutely a must if we want to progress as a team. At the moment we've got pretty much 3 wingers - Kalou, Malouda, Anelka and out of those three I'd only keep Kalou. Ramires is not a winger, he is a central midfielder.. pretty much like Essien and Lampard. In my eyes we need two wingers and a right back. If we move Ramires in central position he can be an attacking midfielder with Frank Lampard (if you think about it, he has had a solid season given his injury) I've no idea who the right back could be (just Gregory van der Wiel pops into my mind at the moment) and wingers Mata left wing, Neymar right wing (Neymar's an attacking allarounder, he can play left, right, central position in the final third, pretty much like David Luiz but an attacker) Would be an ideal signing for us, let's hope. Seeing as Manchester City probably will go on a spree, I'm not sure what the prices will be like on the market. (rumor about Xavi going to City, talks about 700,000£ a week, give me a break + Ibrahimovic, Fabregas, Rodwell, you etc) Going to be potentially hectic summer.
-
We only need 2 players - a winger and a creative midfielder - plus Sturridge, and that's all. Off-load a couple of ageing players to reduce wage bill and break the back bone of the old core.
-
I didn't see the game, unfortunately. Gutted, of course but I'm sort of relieved it happened: 1) given the season we've had, second place is very good, with very I mean very very very good. 2) Manchester United deserves it more (can't believe I just typed that, I guess today it's excusable) 3) opens our eyes that we need to make changes in the squad, we've had this core for too long - perhaps it's time to part ways and think about the club rather than moral issues, fading star names. I don't want to be negative and unjust but we've had it coming for a long time. Our wingers can offer no width what so ever, our strikers are old or out of form or both, hiding behing things like an injury, even malaria, is not accaptable - perhaps if you're not 100%, allow others to play. I'm sure the likes of Sturridge and Borini would have taken a lot of experience and motivation out of it. Whatever happens - KEEP ANCELOTTI. I can assure you that even Mourinho can't dribble for Malouda. The likes of Malouda, Anelka, Bosingwa, perhaps even Drogba are still with us thanks to their services from past times, not because they're great at the moment. We shouldn't sell half the squad but 3-4 changes and Sturridge wouldn't hurt, it'll do us good. So cheer up everyone and enjoy the fact that we're still second, Arsenal lost (high five Ollie), summer is almost here aswell!

Won't be able to watch this game, damn shame. Have to attend a wedding. When I get back it better be victory for the Blues GOOD LUCK AND COME ON CHELSEA
-
Nice graph, goes to show that we should go with 4-3-3 with Drogba as CF. Torres is nice to have on the bench but as so many have said earlier - his season starts in August.
-
Pato is too fragile and Essien is a great player, probably hasn't had the best season but he will bounce back. He is the Bison afterall, no way we are going to sell him

I think that's a bit harsh mate. He has scored 13 goals this season, having sat out half of it with an injury. Our midfield has been superb last few matches and if our strikers start to deliver, we will win at Old Trafford. When Ramires came on for Essien (not saying Essien was bad) against Spurs then some of the counter attacks and slick ticka tacka passes reminded of Barcelona. No doubt in my mind we can win, regardless of who the referee is, we just have to rely on ourselves not on our opponents making mistakes/referee making mistakes for either side.
-
Exactly! I'll miss this game, can't believe it.
-
If we do win at Old Trafford I think Newcastle at home and Everton away won't be much of a problem. If our players smell blood and have a chance to win the title by scoring a couple against them then they'll just kill the game right off. Look at Wigan, we had to win and we did in style.
-
Wasn't pretty by any means but I think we deserved it, really nice fluid play and I couldn't say anyone played bad. Torres had probably his best game for us so far, Malouda was superb, Mikel makes Busquets look like an amateur. Sometimes you just need that bit of luck, lets enjoy it!

Notice how JT rolled back onto the pitch? You sneaky fox JT

GOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL

We didn't allow the goal, you just need that bit of luck in football. Enjoy it not rage on others

Wrong decision but a good one!
