Mikel can't dribble. Ramires rarely does so and Josh isn't up for that kind of responsibility. Wishful thinking there mate. We need a world class playmaker, it's reality and Pastore would be ideal fit. If he will shine is anyones guess because it's impossible to predict.
I'd love to see Essien stay for years to come. I think its not right to make him culprit for our somewhat failed season. If we really want Sneijder, we'll get him one way to another, but dissing out own players and pulling the trigger just like that doesn't sound right. (although I do agree he was poor for most of this season, but I can not stress enough that he was hardly a fraction of our problem)
If you put it that way, it does sound like a good deal indeed. I just hope we won't sell-sell-sell, get a manager, rush a few signings while missing out on bargains and go blindly back into the premiership roller coaster
I think it would work, because it's not only Hughes taking tactical decisions then, Hiddink would still play a big part even as a director of football. Hughes left his post at Fulham, Hiddink couldn't assure Turkey about his future and snubbed PSV, it all might be coincidence as well. With Chelsea you never know anything before it's official, you might have a rumour going around but they're hardly true.
Very nice finish from Torres. Hope it'll spark some confidence in him again and with a few summer recruits and a new manager, we should hopefully have him up and running in no time
Harshly put but.. true. The thing that comforts me is that Emenalo said that he believes, in fact knows, that it's our midfield that's partly to blame for Torres' bad record. Hope they'll fix it not just dull on it.
Doubt it, my money would be on Hiddink+Marco Van Basten partnership. I'm sure Abramovich is a smart man and remembers Hughes' time at Manchester City, might draw some conclusions.
If Abramovic wants him, we'll have him. If not, we'll have someone else (possibly get him next year/ January unless he moves to another club by then), easy as that.
I like Lukaku as a person, as a player but don't we have more urgent problems and positions to take care of? Wingers, playmaker, right back, MANAGER, director of football position. By the way I read Zola was on his way to Chelsea, coaching the youth
Lukaku isn't the answer to our problems, We need wingers, creative midfielder and a solid right back. Ivanovic has been alright but in terms of agility and sharpness he doesn't add that much
Very well said. Not everyone in the academy is meant to be our next star, they've got to earn it. Sure this system has its problems but it's the same for everyone. So in that sense it's fair. You need to take your chance or it's gone.
