We went into the season with two strikers: Sturridge and Torres. We ended with two strikers: Torres and Ba. Our right wing was, is and will be Eden Hazard, sounds familiar? Pivot being shy in numbers - has to do with Mikel's, Lampard's, Ramires' form and the season ending injury for Romeu. Can't predict that.

We don't see them every day, how they act in training, how they connect with team-mates. We only see handful of moments on the pitch/behind the scene videos. Not everyone titled "talented" by English media is an automatic future star and starter for Chelsea. Of course we'll coup them in more than we need. If they're good we'll integrate them into our squad, if they're average we will sell for profit. Football is a business - welcome.

No disrespect mate but Chelsea wouldn't buy player they don't need. If we buy him, we'll need him. They're professionals, we're just guessing on the Internet.

Direct sub for Carragher, not sure what level Kolo is on right now but given it's a free transfer it's not a bad deal... not too ambitious though
-
Born winner, yes please

Well said. Respect for stating an opinion that's not popular on this board, lots of "like" whoring and populism actually going on.
-
Subs and rotational players: Terry, Cahill, Mikel, Ba, Moses, Oscar, Lampard, Bertrand, Romeu, Lukaku, KdB (if they're not sent on loan again) and a reserve GK

Wow the new kit looks amazing, alot better than I expected.

From what I remember, he shook Moyes' hand and went down the tunnel. Can't blame him. Didn't continue watching, perhaps he came back out?
-
Thanks Rafa for good service, he gave his all and deserves the trophy and 3rd place finish, and we're not too far off from 2nd. Cech MOTM for me, couple of brilliant saves that could have changed the game for us had they gone in.

Some of you think real football is like FIFA - push "play again" and all the players are fresh and ready. Chelsea is tired, they can always do better but look at how long the season is. And don't tell me stuff about "professional athletes", just shows you know nothing about sports nor physiology

Exactly, nothing to do with football. Only money. Same like Hulk and Witsel to Zenit; Eto'o, Willian to Anzhi, now Monaco. I get it that they're rich and can become a superpower in matter of years but French league is nothing compared to the likes of Bundesliga, EPL, La Liga. If he wanted to prove himself then he'd go to strongest leagues in the world and PERHAPS earn a little less. Money isn't an issue for them at any time in their life even after their career, unless they buy a Ferrari every other day. It's just money. Sad to see them ruin their careers if it's true. Same goes for Falcao.

Courtois was superb against Real, can't count how many super saves he did, especially the one against Özil where Di Maria did a wonderpass
-
Disgusting game, so much acting and Ronaldo... should have seen red in normal time already, unacceptable
-
What a pass from Falcao, and the way he kept the ball before the pass against 3 Real defenders... was a lucky finish by Diego Costa though, Lopez should have had that or atleast re-directed it better

Very harsh on Rafa and very disrespectful towards other clubs in the Europa League. Search up the word "humbleness" and perhaps that's the reason why we've failed at times, we are too cocky. We take stuff for granted against "lesser" teams, where in fact we get outplayed and lose. In League Cup it had NOTHING to do with Rafa, it was all Ivanovic's errors. FA Cup, we were outplayed by a stronger Man City side, who had a weeks rest, strong bench and let's face it - better players. Nothing wrong with losing to a better team who deserved it. You sound like a spoilt brat who can't take a "no". Fernando Torres also scored many important goals, gave important assists, can't be so FIXATED on statistics, watch the games. Torres has been better than Ba couple of games already. And since December, it's been Ba mostly starting in EPL and Torres in EL and occasional appearances in EPL or as a sub. We played 9 games in December, winning 7 of them. Including game against Everton at Goodison Park. That's a pretty good statistic for any manager and team, especially if new manager has had time to adapt for only days and has had that much hatred and lack of support coming his way. So he said something to the Chelsea fans, so what? We're not 10, get over it. That what's seperated winners and losers - winners don't look back and do their job. That's what Benitez did. You bring out what Benitez "lost" for us - RdM finished 6th, lost SuperCup with humiliation, lost UCL - especially Juve humiliation, lost Community Shield, had no rotation what so ever so had it was inevitable someone more experienced would come in. I respect RdM massively as an ex-player and as a manager but he is not a top level manager, yet. All that talk about he bringing us UCL - some Chelsea fans don't want to accept it but we rode massive luck last year. All those moments opponents hit the woodwork, missed easy chances even amateurs would have scored, saved/missed penalties, goals out of the blue - we just won the loto with UCL, and don't forget we finished SIXTH. So you're right, UCL > EL but with what you just posted you're being disrespectful towards other "lesser" teams and also downgrading Chelsea's achievements. Rafa's done well, good job to him. All those pizza metaphores sound so stupid I won't even comment. And you say "won EL with UCL champs" - we didn't only add players but we lost a few important ones aswell - namely Drogba and Meireles. We lost squad depth and authority in Drogba. Don't deny it.

Don't know about the league but last time around I met him in the final of the cup, like this year. Only then I managed to win, this time it went to away goals, fair enough

Brilliant, better news than us winning Europa League

Europa League Final 2013 - Benfica 1-2 Chelsea

Matic TWICE took Ramires out with too physical tackles, the first one was surely a yellow card and that wouldn't even be close to being "harsh" card. No matter how early in game, you just can't do that. Though must say Matic has nice technique for a tall player. -

Was Ferreira saying good bye to the fans already? He was also thrown in the air by team mates. Although he might not have played that many games recently - what a person and player, massive respect for him. I'd love it if he'd stay and retire at Chelsea. -
Happy birthday Ryan, enjoy it
-
He's done well considering the situation of players, support and packed schedule. Good job Rafa and good luck where ever your future takes you, shame Chelsea-Benitez was a mis-fit from day one. He is a great coach though.
