That wasn't the topic of this debate but it was a direct answer to your previous post. Look, we both made our opinions known and we both want the best for Chelsea so let's drop it. Saying the same thing three times over with different words won't bring anything to this debate. I respect your opinion, respect mine, can't make you agree but deal with it.

The window isn't open yet and you already know that Ba and Torres aren't moving - let me quote you: "Bullshit". We don't know anything till it's 1st of September. And generally speaking our season was dire - dropping out on competitions and had to battle till last games to secure Champions League football.
-
His chances of starting an important UCL or EPL match would be close to zero, I agree but it's a long season and if a 20 year old striker can get for example 20-30 games (including subsitution appearances) under his belt in a club like Chelsea that's "getting a chance" in my book.
-
So we accept we possibly hinder our chances of silverware with sitcking with young upcoming striker like Lukaku. What about the other players who want to win things, are at their physical peak? Do they need to suffer because of that "romantic charm" - no. He deserves his chance as much as any other youngster in our squad, he has to earn it on the pitch not rely on his last season's heroics. Noone said shouldn't give him a chance. What I personally want to say is that it'd be shortsighted to go into the season without changing something in our striker department. Bringing or not bringing Cavani wouldn't make that much of a difference. In the end of the day we need to rotate one way to another and secondly it all comes down to who performs better in training, shows better attitude and basically wants it more. Lukaku has great mentality and if he keeps working hard he will be a success but he is too young and inexperienced to start the season with that much pressure on his shoulders. Going in with Cavani-Lukaku-Ba/Torres would be ideal scenario. And FFP is nothing to worry about, Chelsea wouldn't be making a move if it would be an issue (keep in mind we really don't know if any of those proposed moves by Chelsea are even true) and losing and dropping out on competitions would affect Chelsea's economic stability even more than splashing out on a marquee signing.

You're way too radical. Lukaku isn't ready for a full season as our number one striker (granted he can pass Ba and Torres) but he is ready to be in the squad to prove his worth to potentially become one in the coming years. He himself said in an interview that it'd be alot harder to replicate this seasons feats when he would be at Chelsea for example. There's more pressure and less space to work in. Signing Cavani (or any other top striker) would only do good for the team. He wouldn't be playing all the games in all competitions - players will be rotated and that's the job of the manager. Mourinho successfully rotated between Benzema, Higuain and Morata for the season and keep in mind there's even more competition for places at Real Madrid. Having three players compete for 1 striker position isn't unorthotox, it's a common sight. You brought up Sturridge earlier - I agree that he perhaps could have been given more oppurtinities but he had attitude problems and was too inconsistent - so he was sold to Liverpool. It's not that I wouldn't like to see Lukaku up front next season, all I'm saying is that if he is worth the spot either now or in the future he has to work for it. He has to feel the pressure and competetivness that comes with the job. He can't and shouldn't be given special treatment and lighter competition for a place just because he is a Chelsea fan, above all he is a professional football player earning more in a week than majority earn in a year. The ball is in his courtyard, either show up or go home.

Let's assume Cavani sings, let's assume he does produce, you make it sound like Lukaku would be getting no playing time at all. From that point onwards it's his job to prove his worth not wait for favours. Football is a very competetive place, it's not a charity
-
Lukaku wants to be but he won't one way to another. He is 20 years old what do you expect? Cavani-Lukaku-Ba/Torres is a good strike force to go into the new season. You can't even compare Lukaku and Cavani, one is world class striker already the other is nothing near that but has the potential to become one. Same with all the talks of KDB's progress being hindered by the signing of Schürrle - this isn't Belgian national team nor is this KDB/Lukaku FC - if he isn't the best at that point then someone else will play. Same goes to every other player. I don't care who plays aslong as CHELSEA wins.

Beyond me how ungrateful and daft some people are towards couple of our players, making them scapegoats of our poor form at times while there are those other players who get praised for no obvious reason, brainwashed by the media, show some respect. It was only partly directed to you, no offence though. Sad to see this forum's quality go down along with the average age I'm assuming from the last couple of pages.

Wonder what the transfer fee will be like?

I feel the same way. Partly I'm pleased that we've got Lukaku back, but reality is that we can't expect him to be our main striker week in week out while he is 20 years old (and I can assure you that there'll be people slating him and writing him off during the season when he has bad spells, as there'll be people questioning the re-appointment of Mourinho, some people are hard to please). Going into the season with Lukaku-Torres-Ba isn't ideal either compared to other teams and if we do get striker, I'd rather it would be a player nearing or at his peak, and preferrably well built, tall striker. We've got flare in our side but we've lost the physical edge we had with Drogba, Anelka, Malouda, Ballack, Alex, Essien and so on... I wouldn't rule us out of Cavani race because football is a business and in the end of the day "the one who pays chooses the music", right? We'll keep getting these self proclaimed ITK's having a field day till this deal is sorted and I'm sure it won't be before the end of Confederations Cup.

Marin plays in positions where we've got more than enough cover. We do lack depth but not in that department

Don't waste your time asking for sources mate, so many "ITK"s here, someone posts a meaningless quote/link, thread gets 50-100 viewers, people get excited only to find more bullshit being posted. Noone knows whats going on, we just have to wait for Skysports or Chelsea to confirm anything.. I could add a funny gif to this post, seems to be in fashion, but can't be bothered
-
Why are you mad at Napoli's officials or Cavani for that matter? Football is business and they're exactly doing that, doing business. Put us in their position, would you want to sell Mata for less money than you could potentially get? Keep in mind Cavani for them is perhaps even more important than Mata for us (which is still massively important). They're taking maximum out of it, nothing personal.
-
Many teams right behind you now. Will be very competetive next season. You're not as dominant as before. Winning cup with away goals and league with goal difference, can't get any closer than that. Exciting times ahead! Congrats on title
-
Congrats Term. Nour - almost, next year it's yours!
-
And thing most people forget to consider is - who says he will be an automatic starter? Because as of now, we also lack quality on the bench as well. We need young players like Schürrle to step in when there's a need. Squad depth. Because Marin isn't on the level needed for Chelsea. Keep in mind Marin was bought before Champions League triumph when our top4 chances were slim. He was bought in to play in the Europa League basically.
-
Then how do you know he isn't strong enough already? Visual physique =/= strength. Lewandowski looks lean, not that bulky but he is very strong. Didn't have any problem with 2-3 RM defenders, including Ramos, who is a tank.

Can't believe this, welcome back Jose!

Sorry if posted already. Carvalho's a great lad, always been http://www1.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/teams/chelsea/8749558/carvalho-jose-will-win-league-with-chelsea

Like you said it's a forum. I'm not "downmining" anyone's opinion. I'm just stating mine. If you don't share my views, fair enough I respect that. Never my goal to change anyone's perspective and noone will change mine either. But cheers for your input

Of course! And the fact that our Belgian loanees - Lukaku, dr Bruyne and Courtois, all hit the waves and were very successful with their loan spells shows that Chelsea made the right call to send them on loan and to right places. Better than being on the bench. We could argue if they could have done better at Chelsea than some players who stayed here but that's not important anymore. That's all theory and we'll never know the truth. Fact is the trio is developing fast and we'll face a fight to keep them.
-
Exactly. Refreshing to read things like this, thanks.

Lukaku isn't better than Torres, not till he has done something in Chelsea colours. Lukaku himself said that it'd be alot harder to repeat what he just did in WBA when he'd play for Chelsea. You'll have alot less room to work with, more pressure etc. Benayoun and Marin aren't Chelsea material to start with so don't start with it. Chalobah? He hasn't even played for Chelsea propely and he's automatically better than Mikel, that's just stupid and disrespectful. Get real. Courtois has 1-2 good seasons, makes couple of good saves and you compare him with Cech? Cech saves our ass every other game.
