Title just about says it all, i was thinking about this the other day and i thought off a lot of top players in Europe and most of them i found another player that bears resemblence to them but there was 1 i could not find a mini me for and he goes by the name of Frank Lampard. Ronaldo for example great player but there are players in his mould and have/had potential to be as good as him (IE Nani and Quaresma, real shame Quaresma never furfilled his potenital). Steven Gerrard is another example he is good at what he does he is a battler and can hit a mean long shot but there are younger players that remind me of Gerrard (including our very own Conor Clifford). Xavi and Iniesta are basically clones of each other and they have Fabregas and to a similar extent Scholes who is in their mould, as-well as our own Josh McEachran who's playing style and pin point passing makes you think of Iniesta and Xavi straight away although Josh has a long way to go before he can be considered on that level. Drogba has a clear mini-me in Lukaku, JT likewise with the likes of Phil Jones. Beckham is also a great player but a few years ago Bentley looked like he was going to emulate Beckham like for like. Messi as-well when i watch South American matches i can see players who play with his swagger (all be it no where near as good as him). Watching our new player Lucas Piazon he looks like a complete replica of Kaka. Frank however i tired to rack my brains and think of some-one but ive never seen any-one play remotely like him, Frank offers consistent goals and assists from midfield time after time after time, the one thing we have always been able to rely on come rain or shine, come Jose, Avram or Scolari is that Frank Lampard will get us 20 goals (on Average) a season from midfield, and im am dreading the day he leaves (even above JT and Cech's) as his goals and assits from midfield are PRICELESS, there wont be another Frank around in our lifetime's and most probally their never be another Lampard ever again.

Am i the only one that is completely underwhelmed by this "Dalglish factor"? Its only really seen as a great time in charge if you compare it to Hogsdon's time or Rafa's last season, yes he has beat Us and Utd but so has Wolves and i dont see people labelling Mick McCarthy saviour of the century not to mention he got his tactics horribly wrong against Braga. Not mentioning silly deafeats to West Ham and Blackpool and a home draw to Wigan (something that Rafa was famous for) and also remembering that his start (drew 1 lost 2) was the worst start for a Liverpool manager in something like half a century (would have been A CENTURY if he didnt win at Wolves). Sorry for the rant lol back to the subject 3 wins 2 against title rivals and 1 away at a tough place, got to me MOTM, will be tragic if "king Kenny" gets it, i think they will give Luiz player of the month tho.

Didier Drogba - 2009/2010 just how many goals could he have got?
Tomo replied to Tomo's topic in Chelsea Gold
Fucking hell thats insane. Shame he is so hit and miss if he had all his season's at us like 06/07 and 09/10, no doubt IMO he will be the best in the world or atleast in the top 3. -
There was rumours about him going to West Ham in the summer of 2008 but it never materialized. No-one actually realises the importance of the likes of Ferreira, Kalou, Mikel and even Hilario, good players happy to be squad players and rarely look out of place when they come on, ok the middle 2 can be frustrating at times but they would be certainly good enough to get 1st team football week in week out elsewhere but they still stay and fight for a place. Squad players are just as important as regular 1st teamer's if not more so, look what happened when we trimmed our squad last summer without replacing them. Would you rather have players like Brad Jones, Fabianski, Eboue, Denlison, Bentner, Spearing, Konchesky and N Gog as our back up? While were on that subject i wonder why with Deco gone he aint took number 20 back

Didier Drogba - 2009/2010 just how many goals could he have got?
Tomo posted a topic in Chelsea Gold
When you see Drogba got 37 goals during that season it already is a amazing feet but when you put other things into consideration it makes it even better. - Only ONE of those 37 goals were penalties. - He was away at the ACON for a month. - He was suspended for the opening 3 CL games. - He had a few weeks on the sidelines overall to add to that as-well (all at different times). Ronaldo got 42 in his best season and Henry got 35 although both needed a fair number of penalties to aid that return and played all season, Drogba didnt have either of those. So just how many goals would he have got if he played the full season and took all our pens? id say he would have atleast got to the mid 50's. thoughts? -
No disrespect but he was never one of the best fullbacks imo BUT his commitment and loyalty more than makes up for that ten times over. Saying that as a 3rd choice RB is there many better?

Agree it kinda took some pain of losing the league title (well as much as it can do under considering i was with about 20 man u fan mates. You are right in evrey sense of the word but IMHO returning in the summer will be too soon. Were in a re-building process in the next few years a fair few youngsters will be making progress to the 1st team, can you hand on heart say Jose will be the right man to do this? What i would love for me is Carlo finishes the job by building this team bring Josh, Gael, Bruma etc etc through make Piazon and co into world beaters then if he wants to manage Italy or Roma Jose can take this team over and we can dominate Europe (if we aint doing so already). Dont get me wrong i would LOVE Jose back one day LOVE HIM BACK ............................... but not yet.

What manager would you like to see here next season?
Tomo replied to Swoopz's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
No 2 ways about it, Carlo Ancelotti. I love Jose and what he DID for this club but its time to bury the hatchet for now, maybe 1 day but for the immediate future im more than happy with Carlo and so should you be. -
Welcome, your vids are incredible especially the 103 goals one
-
He dont look actively bad but id pick Conor and Chalaboah over him any day of the week, will never be more than a squad player at Arsenal, either that or a key player for a top Champo club at best. I disagree from what i see he looks like he flatters to decieve, i may be wrong but i think a club like Cardiff is the best he will get. He is approaching 21 soon and still only made 1 prem appearance for Arsenal (ironically as a sub against us).
-
With any luck id be going to the Wigan game Back to the topic this is going to be a horribly tough game we will get no short change at the Britt and if we win we will have to earn it big time. If we win this there might start be serious belief that we can actually pull this title off.
-
I saw him play on trial for Blackpool against Accrington in a freindly match down Torrington (North Devon), he was shite and in the defenders back pocket all game, will be expecting to see the "next big things" Lansbury and Emanuel Thomas down there in a few years

I really cant take any one seriously when they say Wenger is good for young talent. How many talents have really benefited from Wenger ? Ashley Cole the only one, look at Aliadiere for example he looked like another Henry now look at him, Hoyte looked the future England RB now look at him, he's at Boro aint he? I remember watcing Arsenal in the carling cup in 04/05 they beat Everton 3-1 and the likes of Stack, Hoyte, Lupoli, Alliedere and i can remember a line "if this is the future of Arsenal football club we should all be very afraid". 7 years on Stack is no2 keeper at Hibs after only playing 5 games for Plymouth and not featuring on loan for Blackpool or Wolves. Hoyte is struggling to get games for Middles borough, Lupoli is playing for Italian Serie B side Ascoli after not making a SINGLE appearance for Fiorentina in 2 years (large parts spent out on loan), Alliadiere is a free agent. Yes we should be very afraid

Jose back? no thank you, well not for the immediate future anyway. I will ALWAYS love Jose for what he has done for the club and if he is managing in a competition Chelsea aint i will always be behind him BUT bringing him back at this time will be the wrong move. Plus Roman stuck by Carlo in the christmas slump which much say something, Scolari got sacked for a lesser run of form, plus we have got exicting young players coming through at the moment and were hoping they get intergrated to 1st team players in the next few years, can you honestly hand on heart say Jose is the right man to bring through the likes of Josh, Clifford and Chalaboah? Maybe IF Carlo has built a formidable team in say 2014 and decides it's time to move on (to say the Italy job or his beloved Roma) and Jose is available then yes why not bring Jose in and take the side to another level. I love Jose but for the immediate future i am more than happy with Carlo. IN CARLO WE TRUST

3 weeks ago we had 4 teams to overhaul to get to the top, we've already guzumped 2 of them so in theory doing the other 2 in the next 2 months is do-able. Man.Utd have got the expierence of Fergie on their side and it will be hard to see them blowing this now BUT remember they bottled it last year at home against us when we had half our 1st team out and they only needed a draw to stay top, also remember in 98 when they blew a huge lead to hand it to Arsenal (although the gooners had a couple in hand). You just never know. Arsenal i said we will finish above them even when we were 8 points behind them and i stand by that, on paper they should'nt drop too many points but as shown last year they always do.

Has to be Cech by a MILE. Terry and Ivanovic have been absolutely fantastic but Cech has made so many vital saves it is unreal. Remember the Wolves home match? if it werent for Cech we would have had the Sunderland dubarcle 3 weeks early.

Evening fellow Blues, there has been a few things that has been bugging me for some time and hoping you have the answers for them. If Liverpool won the league in 08/09, would Robbie Keane have got a medal despite getting sold in January? When Watford were relegated in 06/07, did Ashley Young get the relegation on his CV despite leaving for Villa half way through? When we won the FA Cup under Hiddink, did Scolari get a medal as he oversaw our 1st 3 games in that competition, and would he have got a medal if we won the CL that year (as he oversaw our group stage progress)?

Its got Gooner or a Spud trying and failing to derail us written all over it
-
Well if we need a french gaffer to sort them out Houllier will be avalible soon
-
A-D-C is 18 only 2 years younger than PVA. Next season might come too soon for him but the year after i think he should be starting to break through.

We have got a awesome record at the business end (only 3 league losses in 6 years during April/May time and 2 of them were in 05/06 AFTER the league title was won) which always puts us in with a chance BUT sadly just like 08/09 and 06/07 our winter jitters has cost us BIG TIME we are shit in the winter really since i can remember (only exeptions being Jose's 1st and 2nd season) and it almost nearly cost us last season aswell. Next season we will have to sort that out because i honestly believe that if we can make a signififcant improvement in our winter form we will walk the title with ultimate ease. Proof being the 2 season's we actully had a decent winter we walked the league. Its not this time of the season thats a problem to us, its the middle part. Pre Roman it use to stop us challenging for the league, these days it stops us winning the bloody thing.
