  1. We will need more than 1 and if Drogba goes there will be more than enough room for another. Neymar can play on both wings and play up front when Torres cant play, Lukaku is one for the future aswell, think 5 years when Torres is 31 and those 2 will be approaching there prime, Torres is for the immediate future (IE 5/6 years) Lukaku and/or Neymar will be the long term future (12 years). We found out to our cost earlier this season its a squad game these days and there is no hiding from that.
  2. Will any one be able to make a avatar of Carlo, blue background and IN CARLO WE TRUST at the bottom, thank you so much if you can
  3. Good luck for tommorow (or today which-ever way you look at it) were all rotting for you mate)
  4. Suppose but you never know he might just suprise us
  5. Best forum there is this one, not just Chelsea, not even just football ANY forum going wont top this one.
  6. Hopefully Hernandez starts, he's shit when he starts but dangerous off the bench (bit like Kalou)
  7. We have had hard nosed negotiators before but managed to see them off (Luiz the prime example). The same will be the case in the summer, Santos will spend all summer claiming they want £40-50m for him and eventually (possibly even on deadline day) they will settle for lower (probally £25m-£30m). The brazillians we already have will give us HUGE advantage no need to beat around the bush with that one. Lets just use this as an example, we were a standard but not great footballer playing non league football and 2 clubs from eastern europe wanted us, Warsaw from Poland and Levski Sofia from Bulgaria for example, Warsaw had 1 person that speaks your language and even that aint very well but Sofia had 5 of your fellow countrymen and about 10 that could speak your language and a fair few that can speak both Bulgarian and your language, there will be only 1 place you will go.
  8. There point per game average when Conor was there was something like 1.7 compared to something like 0.9 when he isnt there. Next season we should loan him for a full season in the championship so he can show us what he is made off.
  9. My point, Carlo should play him further forward, leave the deep-lying stuff to Mikel and if he aint playing Ramires, Josh should go further forward and cause havoc we saw what he did to Newcastle. Playing him in the deep lying role will limit him and i really dont want his attacking instincts killed off by the time he's 20. So please Carlo play him further forward
  10. Nice to see my 1st EVER thread on talk Chelsea is still going strong Infact it was my 1st ever post on TC
  11. All this talk about a new playmaker, Pastore, Hamsik and even Kaka have been mentioned and i personally wont be disapointed if we dont get any off them why? because we have our very own lad chomping at the bit and he goes by the name of Josh McEachran. Dont get me wrong i rate all those players we have been linked with highly but what is the point of splashing out on a creative midfielder when we already have got a sensational HOME GROWN starlet who has out shone most of the experienced stars when fielded this campaign? Josh has everything and you have to be some-one special to regually get in the 1st team squad at the age of 17, correct me if im wrong but the City game was the 1st time he hasn't atleast made the bench since our 3-1 victory at Upton Park in September, he always maintaines high passing rates and the fact he was our only youngster not loaned out speaks volumes. His hunger can't even be questioned as despite regular 1st team appearances this term he still has the hunger to go and play in our youth cup campaign. As i stated above i rate the likes of Pastore, Kaka and Hamsik highly but what is the point of splashing £30+ million on a creative player when we have one that is fit, hungry, chomping at the bit for action and best of all cost absolutely nothing?
  12. Former Manchester United and England captain Bryan Robson has undergone surgery for throat cancer. Robson, 54, is currently coaching the Thailand national team and had the operation in Bangkok on 3 March. "Bryan underwent an operation to remove a tumour from his throat," read a Manchester United statement. "The laboratory report revealed a cancerous tumour, which will need further treatment. The oncologist is confident the condition is treatable." Robson is combining his work in Thailand with an ambassadorial position at United and the Old Trafford outfit said he was "fine" to remain in the roles. The Red Devils added in the statement: "Bryan and his family have requested that he can continue with his treatment in private and ask that their privacy is respected." Recognised as one of the greatest players of his generation, Robson started his professional career with West Brom in 1974 and scored 40 goals in 198 appearances. He joined Manchester United for a then British record transfer fee of £1.5m in 1981 and continued to build his reputation as a courageous and talismanic central midfielder. By the time he left United in 1994, Robson had captained the club to three FA Cups, the 1991 European Cup Winners' Cup and two Premier League titles. He was also a key man for his country and scored what was - until 2002 - the second-fastest goal in World Cup history, a strike after 27 seconds of England's 3-1 victory over France in 1982. Robson finished with 90 caps and - 65 as skipper - and was given the nickname 'Captain Marvel' by England's manager at the time Sir Bobby Robson. He played 27 games for Middlesbrough before taking over as manager at the Riverside, and also led Bradford, West Brom and Sheffield United before succeeding Peter Reid as Thailand coach in September 2009. But his record so far has been disappointing, with Thailand failing to reach the Asian Cup for the first time since 1988 this year. They were also knocked out of the Southeast Asian Games and the Southeast Asian championship - competitions they have long dominated - in the opening rounds. Robson has said he is fully committed to the job, but feels urgent reform in the Thai soccer structure and better cooperation with the domestic league is needed to bring success to the national side. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/12759530.stm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Absolutely horrible news and i can only wish Bryan Robson the best in his recovery, i hate it when these things happen wouldn't wish it on any-one.
  13. Terry, Lampard, Essien, Torres, Alex, Bosingwa, Cole all not playing midweek, were be fresh off to the Brittania Any one for a throw in on the way
  14. Alex and Yossi will HAVE to play some part, they will be key against Utd, espeically Alex.
  15. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/12872686.stm Looking at this article on the BBC website i couldn't help but laugh at Joe Ledley's comment. "It was a promising performance in the second half. No one scored so it was a draw in that half" Wales' Joe Ledley Although that is statistically true it's not something you come out and say after losing at home to your nearest rivals
  16. The other week i bet on Seville to win at Porto Man.Utd and Marseille to draw Inter and Bayern draw Arsenal and Stoke draw Motherwell and St Mirren draw Liverpool to beat Sparta put £1 on those combination of results and would have got £906 if they all came up right. On Wednesday tea time Seville won at the Dragao so i was 1/6 of the way there. with 10 minutes to go on the 7.45 KO's Man u and Marseille were drawing - just as i predicted Inter and Bayern were drawing - just as i predicted Motherwell and St Mirren were drawing - just as i predicted Arsenal were beating Stoke 1-0 - i predicted a draw at 1 point all i needed was a Stoke goal and i would have been a Liverpool win away from winning £906 of a £1 bet but it didnt matter as both St Mirren and Bayern scored late goals so even a Stoke goal would have rendered meaningless in the end but i was reasonably close, although might have been a blessing in disquise as i would have had to support the Scousers in order to get the cash Also can i add 1st time i did the lottery 3 of my numbers came up 1st time, sadly the other 3 didn't follow so i had to settle for a £10, which on the face off it is ok but when your 1st 3 numbers came up can be a bit of a disappointment.
  17. Annoyed. Got to be up for work in the morning and im not tired and only had 2 hours sleep the night before, im gunna pass out soon.
  18. If Drogba, Anelka and Malouda all leave which i certaintly wont rule out at the moment, why not bring both Sanchez and Neymar in? We found out to our cost earlier this season it is a squad game these days how good would these options be next season and in the next 6 years. Sanchez-Neymar-Sturridge-Kakuta-Yuri Torres-Lukaku-Kalou-maybe even Drogba aswell We will need depth to our side with these attacking options we will have plenty of depth and plenty of options to turn around games if need be.
  19. I dont know why loads want Gary Cahill in, he would get ass raped in the champions league.
  20. I wasn't a massive fan of the 08/09 home kit, dont know why but something just didn't click for me. IMO 06-08 was the nicest, 05/06 was nice aswell loved the gold bits on the top.
  21. Torres up front with Neymar and Sturridge constantly switching from left to right, defenders wont know where to turn I think this is going to go the same way as the Luiz transfer. Talk of £30-40m + all through the transfer window and coming to the end Santos will settle on about £25-30m i think, we played hardball with Benfica and came on top no reason why we cant do the same here. Luiz, Alex, Ramires and Piazon will be key to whether he comes or not. Another plus side he has already got the hang of scoring at the Emirates
  22. Ohh the beauty off hignsight hey I hope you guys are enjoying your big lump of humble pie
  23. We are current holders of the youth cup and in a very strong position to possibly do it again, i follow youth football a lot and evrey season since Arnesen came in our set-up has been getting better, carry on like this its only a matter of TIME before we start producing at a vast rate, here are some of the players in our books we should be looking at giving chances to in the next couple of years. Josh McEachran Start with the obvious, he has been getting games this season and next season i hope and think to see him more, there's no point me going on about why he should be playing VERY SOON because A: it goes without saying and B: Ill be writing all night. Billy Clifford Own goal against Arsenal aside he has really caught my attention in the youth cup this season, to me he is a Gary Neville who isnt a cheating cunt, can also play midfield and can score, comftable in RB and comftable in CM, brilliant prospect and next year we should be looking at giving him a debut, failing that the year after. Danny Pappoe Evrey think you want in a defender, solid and not afraid to get stuck in where in hurts, add to the fact he is built like a brick shit house lol and with talk about Bruma possibly following Arnesen to Hamburg his chance might come sooner than we think. Nathaniel Chalobah The fact that he was playing in the reserves and captianing England's U18's at 15 pretty much tells you all you need to know, can play anywhere across the back line and in midfield, might be a good couple of years before we see him playing for the 1st team but believe me this guy is worth the wait. Aziz Deen-Conteh To me he is as good as Van Aanholt going forward but MUCH more assured in his defending, he has played on the wing a few times but his defending is so good he looks wasted there, if i had to bet on a successor to Cole coming from our ranks it will be this guy NOT Van Aanholt or Bertrand. Matej Delac Cant really be classed as our youngster but i think he deserves a squad place, he looks natural quality and is rated at home as the best goallie since Independance, being in the Croatian squad at 17 is no mean feat also. Milan Lalkovic Tricky winger which is ironically what our 1st team is missing, he tore the Arsenal youth team to pieces and is a bit rough around the edges but in time i reckon he can become a class winger. Jack Cork Good enough player and versitaile, could be our answer to John O Shea. Conor Clifford Battler, leader and determined, whether he will make it into playing regually for us is debatable but he sure deserves a shot, ive got Plymouth mates and they have had nothing but good words to say about this lad (even the one's that support United or Liverpool aswell), would be great if he makes it he devines what's right with the modern footballer. We may not have had many through for a while granted but these are worth the wait IMO, ive been closely following youth and reserve football and the main thing i notice season by season are results are getting more consistent which can only be a good thing, were actully is a great position to win the reserve league, and i think esk weston mentioned a few weeks ago that our U14- U16 group are sweeping all before them, how great would it be if in a few years time were spoilt for choice as far as players coming through are concerned?
