Over confidence might have been a issue, we ended last season and started this hitting teams for 6,7 and 8, maybe the players got it into their head that they could have carried on doing that all season? Its only natural to get a bit complacent after a few thrashings, i remember when i played for a U14 side we won 4-0, 12-0, 6-1 then 7-0 we played the bottom side in the league at home turned up with the wrong mentality thinking we only need to turn up to dish out more, they scored a early goal defended for their lives and came away with a 1-0 and after that our season went tits up, it wasnt intended arrogance more natural complacency i honestly dont think our players responded to failing to score and win well after getting so use to it and its the same for Chelsea. I think this has contributed to our average season more than the Wilkins saga, complacency. How can a team that was sweeping all before them playing football weve never seen before to rigid and horrifically predictable in the space off less than half a year?

Good post revo. To me they seem to play like well fed internatinal superstars full up with a double.

Why does Rooney get away with celebrating infront of us. Adebayor got banned for doing it to Arsenal fans. why wont Wayne?
-
Ive only seen bits and bobs off them mate not enough to make a detailed review of them. From the limited time ive seen Sala looks most likely but youd have to ask Esk Weston as he can make a more accurate review
-
You will know if Drogba does that at the Stretford end, the media will enver shut up slating him.
-
i read it on some other forum, if i find it again ill send you the link, it sounds a but far fethced there must have been another reason but if that does turn out to be true (which i think and hope is not) i would lose the slightest of respect i even had for Rooney.
-
Apparently Rooney's celebration when he pointed in the sky was to mock Lampard and the celebration he did for his mum against Liverpool in 08. If thats true its fucking sick even for Rooney's standards.
-
Both tricky wingers with good pace but i think Carlo prefers Sala to them 2 because when we had an injury crisis it was Sala that was regually making the bench.
-
In all seriousness i think this proves that we need 1 of Mikel, Benayoun and McEachran playing evrey game. What has happened to Essien this season? in season's gone by his presence alone was inspiring the players around him this season he isnt even inspiring himself. He NEVER lost at Stamford Bridge before the Liverpool game now he has twice. Lampard seems lost i think his role needs to be lessered. Defence and goallie are fine we just need some boosing up front, last night highlighted the importance already of David Luiz. I wouldont go that far but he is certainly a long way from his best.

Would be nice. I hope Carlo dont take Wigan too lightly, top 4 aint secure yet and Wigan are fighting relegation and really owe us one after the last 2 games against them.
-
Ill tell you what we need and thats players playing with urgency. If Utd took a half time lead at the Nou Camp, Barca would come out playing with fast intensity and urgency and making Man.U sweat blood and tears to keep hold of that lead they will probably end up having all Utd players camped in their final 3rd we need more of that. We have been missing it since the Rooben and Makelele days. Maka was no nonsense tackle pass get the play forward, Rooben wouldont waste time in making forward runs either, these days when were not winning we seem to cruise like were 5-0 up and when we are 5-0 up (IE Wigan, West Brom, Ipswich) we seem to play more like were chasing the game and end up scoring more, it dont make sense. We without doubt seem to be a sing when things are going for us team, when things click this team are frightening, the 6-8 goal wins at the end of last season and begging of this season back that up but when things aint going for us there doesn't seem to be enough fight and ideas to turn it round.

Benayoun should have been brought on tonight.
-
Petr Cech 7 - didnt do anything wrong and stopped Hernandez scoring a certain goal. Jose Bosingwa 5 - caught out constantly and crossing left a lot to be dissired. Branislav Ivanovic 6- solid but not spectacluar John Terry 6 - read Ivan Ashley Cole 6 - read Ivan Ramires 6 - neat touches but didnt have the big impact he has had in the last few months Micheal Essien 5 - was pretty sloppy in my opinion Frank Lampard 5 - read Essien Yuri Zhirkov 5 - neat touches but never looked like troubling united Fernando Torres 7 - personally thought he was our best player, his movement was so much better and was unlucky not to score. Didier Drogba 6 - battled hard but never looked likely to score. SUBS Florent Malouda 6 Nicolas Anelka 6 John Obi Mikel 6
-
SO you think these contrasting results are a coinsidence? How many times did he get skinned tonight? how many decent crosses has he made? most of United's decent chances came from his side, i will get behind him if he plays for Chelsea but that doesnt mean i have to suck his ass and say he is as good as Pele. Evrey-one seems to think were better attacking with Bosingwa in the side but the fact is with him in the side were about 10 times more predictable as we already are. If Bosingwa turns his Chelsea carrer around and proves me wrong i will hand it to him and i PROMISE (bookmark this) to name and shame myself and admit im wrong but i honestly can't see it.

regardless what happens Ancelotti should STAY. What the fuck will sacking him do, we will be back to square one, Carlo has a sensatinal record at Old Trafford and so do we, we beat them there 2-1 last season with half our team out, the same score next week will see us through, why the fuck can't we do the same again with a full team? This tie is certainly NOT over, score 1st there and its GAME ON. Back to the Carlo situation, he has done fantastic considering, weve been spoilt since Mourinho, he came in won back to back titles with ease and every other manager is expected to do the same and its not going to happen. We missed Luiz badly tho even so we were denied 2 clear pens. I can tell you now if Carlo goes id be even more gutted than i was when Jose left. IN CARLO I TRUST.
-
He is not the scapegoat, it's becoming painfully clear and the contrast in results when he plays he big games and when he dont is there for all to see.
-
Just what i was thinking. Carlo will rest players and Wigan owe us one, potential banana skin without doubt. Back in a bad moment, great
-
Bosingwa should NEVER play a big game again, ive just made a thread showing why. I dont think it was that bad that ref was a twat, im glad Carlo has resisted making comments on the ref, well done to the guy for acting with dignity and class, Fergie can learn a lot from him. On a side note how do you do match reports after a match like this? full credit id never be able to do that.
-
With Bosingwa starting Man.Utd (H) 1-1 Liverpool (H) 0-1 Arsenal (H) 1-2 Man.Utd (A) 0-3 Liverpool (A) 0-2 Arsenal (A) 4-1 Liverpool (H) 0-1 Man.Utd (H) 0-1 P8 W1 D1 L6 F6 A12 With Bosingwa not playing Liverpool (H) 2-0 Man.Utd (H) 1-0 Arsenal (A) 3-0 Arsenal (H) 2-0 Man.Utd (A) 2-1 Liverpool (A) 2-0 Arsenal (H) 2-0 P7 W7 D0 L0 F14 A1 Sorry but am i suppose to believe that is just coincidental? Also is it coincidental that we stopped scoring for fun earlier in the season when we brought Bosingwa back, he may have the flashy trick on the wing but his crossing is a joke and makes us phrone to the counter attack. At Old Trafford we MUST either play Paulo, play Alex or failing either play Essien at the back, playing Bosingwa in the big games havent and will continue to get us very little results.
-
We need Alex back at Old Toilet otherwise were fucked.

Morning Blues, i cant sleep and im bored shitless so i thought id go through what went wrong this season with these guys, i still think all 3 could be class players in the future but what the hell made their in-clusion in the squad this season fail so misrably? Last season the signs were looking good, Kakuta was awesome on his debut for us, Bruma played in the CC against Rovers and a couple of league games and didnt put a foot wrong in any of them and despite the fact we were winning both games comfortable Van Aanholt was impressive in his cameo's against Pompey and Villa at the back end of last season. Van Aanholt went on loan to both Coventry and Newcastle and was a fans fav at both and the fact that in the crucial Bolton game last season it was Bruma that was warming up when Terry at 1 point looked like he was going to be forced off speaks volumes. Although they only featured in about 10 games between them that year the signs were without doubt very promising and they looked set to play a bigger (although not to ex-cessive part) in this coming season as the squad was trimmed, something which turned out to be a pretty bad error. Its not that these 3 aint good enough far from it but they just clearly weren't ready. The season started with these 3 making brief cameo's in games, Bruma against Blackpool, Van Aanholt against Zilina and Kakuta against West Ham and Zilina, we were winning all games comfortably at the time so we couldn't really read much into it but when they did start together in the carling cup at home to Newcastle something clearly weren't right. It started brightly Kakuta assisting Van Aanholt for Chelsea's opener but after that, Kakuta had little impact and was subbed at half time, Van Aanholt did well going forward but his defending left a lot to be dis-sired and Bruma got given a rough ride by Shola Ameobi all night, all shown glimpses of their obvious talent but as far as the regular 1st team football goes they are still a million miles away. The 2nd time they all started together we beat Zilina at home 2-1, Kakuta got subbed at half time but Van Aanholt looked good going forward but not tested defensively, Bruma didnt really put a foot wrong and Kakuta although shown some flashes was subbed at half time. Kakuta's 1st and currently only premier league start for us he had no impact, balls bouncing off him and fell victim to probally one of the most predictable half time changes since ive started following the blues (only Ferreira's at Spurs last season i think was more predictable), Van Aanholt has not yet started a league match for us and Bruma's only league start we shipped 3 goals at home to Villa although i think its a bit harsh solely blaming him. Then we only need to look no further then there loan spells. Kakuta can hardly get game time for Fullham and at Leicester with Ricardo out of the team Bruma and Van Aanholt seem to be the fans scapegoat so it's becoming clear there loan spells aint going to plan. Thankfully we have got the emergence of Josh McEachran to be thankful for (something we expected from 1 of these) This has without doubt been a case of 1 step forward and 2 back with these guys and they have got great potential but if they want to stand a chance of 1st team football they will have to knuckle down and work extremely hard and we will have to play the long game and be patient, it will be a good few years before there good enough to be 1st team regulars possibly even longer (if at-all that is). Thoughts?

Good review, i had a bad feeling about this as the Brittania aint a easy place to go at the best of times never mind after an international break. Hopefully the idiots who bash Stoke's style of play shut up a bit now as they shown against us they can mix it and play some good football despite what idiot gooners say. Most gutting thing was drooping down to 4th we need the Spuds out of the CL fast.

2 words about time. He should have been banned for his elbow on Mcarthy then for his celebration at Stamford Bridge, now he has got what he deserves.
