  1. Im not suprised that he is hear now and immediate back up to Cole, i have family that live up by Reading and saw a fair few Reading matches in 2009/2010 and i was impressed by Bertrand, i had a hard time trying to convince fellow Chelsea fans he was good enough and is actually better than Van Aanholt (at least at defending). I was always convinced he will make it and im now glad he is here and battling Cole, would have been better had he went on a prem loan last season tho having said that he played against Liverpool in the FA Cup for Reading and owned them.
  2. What some fail to realise that we may not have won some off the trophies in recent years if it weren't for Kalou. Equaliser at home to Spurs which got a replay and saved home elimination, we went on to win the cup. Goal in the FA Cup 2 years later which prevented us exiting at home to Southend, we went on to win the cup. The early double against Stoke in the title decider which settled unbearable nerves. We would not have won 2 FA Cup's if it werent for Kalou goals saving us from elimination and who knows without his early double against Stoke the crowd would have got wrestless, the players would have started to panic and Stoke might have actually held us then bang, title gone. He should never be a starter but is a great impact sub as far im concerned, plus he always puts the effort in and runs his socks off, i can forgive any flaw in ability if they play their heart out.
  3. Roman happy trigger finger is something overhyped by media and rival fans. They like to think that gaffers get sacked for CL failure but that has not been the case with any. Ranieri - nice man as he is, the only way we were going to win trophies under him was a Liverpool lite 2005 fluke show, he done so much for this club in other ways but i can't believe it was a coinsidence we stopped winning domestic cups regually when he got appointed. Mourinho - Ego clashes and football the complete opposite to what Roman wanted did it for him, if he was sacked for CL failure he would have been gone the second 06/07 ended. Grant - All rival fans and media could remember is the CL final all i can remember is constant losing points in injury time (10 over all), awful tactics and horrific man mangement that got half the squad wanting out, plus the fact he was gone regardless of Moscoe surely dispells the Roman sacks managers who dont win CL myth. Scolairi - Hopeless, had he stayed we would have been lucky to get a place on channel 5, exposed as a one trick pony by Benitez and never recovered. Hiddink - Caretaker, had no intention of staying and made it clear from day one. He didn't win the CL but Roman was still deperate for him to stay. Ancelotti - Media will point to the double but while i wanted him to get one last season to re- prove himself and i defended him on this forum many times, the displays last season were indefendable, i can take defeats when were doing everything to get back in it (like Sunday) but when were losing with half an hour to go and cruising like we were 5-0 up, it makes me angry.
  4. TBF Rooney has got 5 in 25 against us, 6 in 27 if you include the CS, hardly Drogba against Arsenal lite. Funny thing is some Utd fans have made a big thing of Torres mocking him, they werent complaning when Rooney copied Gudjohnsen's dope celebration infront of the Matthew Harding stand.
  5. The difference is Arsenal fans did it season after season and do it regardless. When we beat them under Hiddink then twice again under Carlo its "it don't matter because we play prettier football", they constantly say their team is set to dominate in 3 years then when they fall flat and the players dont make it they say it again. If were still in this stage in 2 years and the same things are being said again and again then we will be sounding like Arsenal.
  6. The Cole decline has been over-exaggerared. I think we are all comparing him to 09/10 where he was unreal. Hoving said that we have to look at phasing him out sooner rather than later.
  7. Bit off topic but how did i do on TC twitter yesterday? I hope i did okayish for the first go
  8. I am probally going to get slated for this but i think he has a huge season in him if not this season next. Remember Drogba in 08/09 when he went on a similar goal drought recovered and slowly but surely got back on the goal trail for the rest of that season before exploding the season after, Rooney looks like doing the same after his goal drought last season. Whats to say Fernando cannot do the same? It was always going to be a slow process by Andre getting his confidence back and you have to say so far so good.
  9. Funny that there has been more optimism in after this game than any we have won
  10. Im thinking a couple of youth, hopefully should we go through were get a League One side and we can play more youth. --------------------Cech-------------------- Ferreira-----Luiz---------Alex------Ryan --------------------Mikel-------------------- --------McEachran---------Lampard---- Sturridge-------------------------Malouda --------------------Anelka------------------ Subs: Blackman, Ivanovic, Chalaboh, Romeu, Meireles, Mata, Lukaku. Give Ramires, Bosingwa Terry, Cole and Torres the night off to keep them fresh. Swap Sturridge for Mata at half time so there reasonably fresh for Swansea. I think the main reason for the bad form last season of the likes of Flo and Nelks was a few things. 1. The double the season before. 2. Overplayed 3. Always started no matter how poorly. 4. Lack of motivation. Given Andre's rotation policy 2 and 3 won't be a problem, 4 will never be with AVB at the helm and 1 certainly aint a factor anymore.
  11. Dear anti Chelsea rags Your no doubt in your office right now obsessing over Fernando Torres and his open goal miss but can i care to remind you that there has been much worse in this video, including not one, two but three open goal misses by David Villa, one by Cristiano Ronaldo and two by Thierry Henry. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22WqS9TZDeQ and here is the Sun and Mirror's lovechild Ryan Giggs missing a open goal against Arsenal Where were the obssesive articles then?
  12. the knobends aint obviously seen this if they think Torres was the worst miss.
  13. Know what i find funny? Carroll cost £35m, a unjustible fee, alteast Torres is proven at the top level, performs and stinker today and not even a word is said about him on MOTD and probally the media infact apart from the 30 minute show against City i would say he has been much worse than Torres. Torres performs great at Old Trafford yet the focus on one moment. Pretty pathetic really.
  14. Great review We should have won or atleast drew, best we have played at Old Trafford since the 3-0 win their a decade ago. We had 21 chances no one else will go there and have that many.
  15. My comp broke down after my last tweet , sorry mate hope i did allright.
  16. sweet, what time do you usualy start? a hour or so before kick off?
  17. To be fair Drogba has only scored 3 times since then and that was in the same week and Anelka has only scored 3 times.
  18. Even as a Carlo fan i could not for the life of me work out why he kept doing that. Gave opponents advantage and say against Villa he said Bruma will start so Villa has 24 hours to work out how to target him. I think because he is a nice man who don't like confrontation the media took advantage of that.
  19. I already know what type of players i want its just about finding them for the price Think ive got a freindly against you on Tuesday, good luck with staying up hopefully ill be up next season to play you.
  20. Im probally just gunna play around with young players for the rest off the season, im not going to catch Sinised JK now even if i beat them at home so might as well
  21. Nope and the only 2 times United have blown a 2 goal lead at home this decade, Di Matteo was a player in one of them and a coach in the other. So got to be something in that?
  22. Does any one have a fair idea on development value? My 18 year old centre half is 4 rated with a 15 development value is that good? Also whats the minimum development value a young player should have if we are looking to make them a star?
