you get over it eventually, Nasri was on my fav non Chelsea players pre Arsenal #confession

The media and rival fans love using the 7 managers in 7 years to put us down, but when looking at it throughly is it acutally as bad as people make out? Claudio Ranieri - great man as he is he never seemed to have that killer instint that separates the nearly men to the winners, he did amazing getting us into the cl but his runners up medals on his cv says it all and Roman was never going to accept runners up. Jose Mourinho - The only serious stupid one, i still believe had we kept him in 07/08 he would have had his best season yet and maybe even the quad, having said that how long would he have carried on with us? if he won the quad he might have left on a high and Roman was getting fed up with the lifeless football we were playing under him. Avram Grant - Rival fans will point to the champions league final, Chelsea fans however will point too shocking tactics that lost us 10 points in injury time, lost us the carling cup final, got us knocked out of the FA Cup against Barnsley when the other big boys were out and while it was not his fault Terry slipped it was his fault that game went to pens in the first place. All that i have not even mentioned his horrendus man management that got half the squad considering their futures. Big Phil Scolari - What has not been said? he was out of his depth, exposed as a one trick pony by Rafa and never recovered. Guus Hiddink - Was a caretaker, had no intention of staying full time and made it clear from day one. Carlo Ancelotti - Rival fans will point to the double, and while i was one of Carlo's biggest backers on this forum and wanted him to be given another season to recover the performances and tactics last season were dire, leaving a hungry Sturridge on the bench, persisting with off form players and the one that annoyed me the most naming teams in pre match press conferences gave the opponents a upper hand. Yes i wanted Carlo another season to rectivy it but if he didn't it would have got worse. So looking at the bigger picture is the 7 in 7 statistic really that bad? not saying Andre has not got a big challenge ahead of him but Roman is not as trigger happy as some like to believe.

Makes a change from Carlo, as any-one knows i was as much behind Carlo as any Chelsea fan but his habit of naming the team 2 days before the game had me screaming at the tele.

At the Bridge i would say yes but its a bit risky to do it up there, how many times have Arsenal tried that game at The Brit and came back red faced?

Some of my fav's in this http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/2641675.stm gem back in 2003 about how England will be world beaters in Euro 2008. Make of this what you will.

Anyone noticed Rooney's pathetic attempt to copy Eidur's celebration when he scored in the league at The Bridge in march. Atleast it shows he (Wayne) respects his superiors
-
sad thing is Bramble has actually scored a few against us at the right end, i can remember three (Newcastle away 04-05 and 05-06 Wigan away 09-10) and that's out of the top of my head, please for the love of god don't tell me there's more Heskey's another bastard, disappears for 36 games a season then when it comes to us he decides to show us that he is a footballer.

We need to make up 41 points on Arsenal to get to 2nd, it will be done eventually but not in 2 season's flat

Like the thought of Van Aanholt as a winger, saw a few Leicester games last season and his defending was really a close eyes moment tbh.
-
no doubt he is class but he still has to adapt to a new culture with the expectations of the price tag on his shoulders, last season United mainly one it due to VDS being sublime time after time, could De Gea be as good in his first season? im not so sure.
-
He should not have hesitated coming out for the first goal, both goals would have been avoided with VDS between the sticks. His price tag, young age, not speaking english, no spanish players and the fact he is playing at Old Trafford and many keepers failed because of the pressure there means a dodgy start by him is alomost inevitable.
-
Atleast he is being honest, id be more concerned if we all of a sudden became his "dream club" and he has wanted to play for us ever since he saw Winston Bogarde pull on the blue shirt against Gillingham.

Every season the hit form when there out of the title race and the pressure's off (hench there outrageous hype every summer) and this season will be no different to the rest, by christmas the scousers will be begging for Roy's return
-
This aint about being respectful more realistic, all ive heard all summer is how all our rivals (especially United) have stolen a march on us in terms off squad strenthening which just simply is not true, United have cut their squad drastically and it remains to be seen whether it will come back to bite them a few injuries and it just well might. City as ive said if Tevez goes then they are weaker despite Aguero coming in, they have signed a LB which aint even as good as the one us and United have. If you look at this transfer window for long term its advantage Andre and Fergie but short term no-one has really done better than another IMO.
-
im sorry but i just cannot honestly see how. From Alonso, Mascerano and Torres to Henderson, Adam and Carroll in less than 2 years, if that should not go under the dictonary under decline i dont know what should/
-
me or the forum in general?
-
The general thoughts around is that we are behind other clubs in terms of the transfer marker but i really don;t agree/ Have any of our rivals really stolen that much of a march over us? Starting with Liverpool to say they will worry us is quite honestly laughable, just because Dalglish was succesful in the 80's dont mean jack shit now, there team are not good enough, if Arbeloa, Alonso, Mascerano, Gerrard at his peak, Riise and Torres could not deliever the title do you honestly think Johnson, Henderson, Adam, a past it Gerrard, Downing and Carroll will? Would not matter if Jose is incharge, Liverpool just aint good enough they have conceded 3 goals in alll bar one pre season match, they drew 3-3 to Valerenga reserves (and even their first team is 11th in their league) lost 3-0 to Hull and Galatasaray and let in 3 against Malasia and some other shower aswell. Liverpool if they are extremely lucky and i mean very lucky MIGHT by the skin of their teeth get top 4 but they are not a threat to us or the title what so ever. If Dalglish wasn't incharge with people wanking over his success in the 80's they would not even be getting mentioned. Tottenham have only signed Freidel, they have not got enough good players and their stricking options are a joke, again no way will they be near us in a 38 game season. Arsenal have only brought in Gervinho and a rookie LB, Gervinho looks suspiciously like another Arshavin to me, will have one incredible game then go missing for the next 2 months. Again over 38 games i don't think they are strong enough to keep up with us. Man.City have signed Clichy, while a good player is no where near as good as our left back and Aguero while a great signing is more than likely to be a like for like replacement for Tevez and Tevez suits Mancini teams a lot better, as it stand under Mancini's negative tactics i think they will draw too many games for the title and also if Tevez goes i don't think there stronger at-all. Again i can't agree that United have strenghted and improved (not in the short term anyway), Scholes, VDS, Neville, Brown, O Shea and Hargreavs have all left, very usefull and expierenced players and 2 young players have came in Jones and De Gea (the latter looking VERY shaky so far) and Young who has no expierence with CL football, 4 or so injuries to top players and United's squad will start to look very thin, remember what happened to us when we tried a similar squad cutting exercise last season? So in short i do not think any-one of the top english teams have really stolen a march for this season, long term Andre and Fergie have made some very clever young signings but we or United fans cannot expect world beating performances straight away. No team has stolen a march in the transfer market over others just yet could all change tho but at the moment i just think its all about even.

basically they are signing late so they dont have to play at the Brittania, would not suprise me, especially with Neymar.
-
Maybe this game is why our transfer targets have refused to talk to us. After this one we might hear more.
-
Given we are going to be bombarded with long balls and throw in's, our strongest avalible players is a must. If it has not sunk it on Andre that he is managing in England it will after this.
-
Watching that video of his love for The Bridge and this club makes me more angry at some of the players last season showing no effort. I could not honestly care if he turns into Dele Adebola now i can always forgive any flaws in abilty if the player has passion and works hard.
