  1. We could viably have the complete attacking midfielder on our hands, no exaggeration. To think, QPR and Spurs nearly got him
  2. Can't see that being too high a priority given the fixture schedule. Jose will play a 2nd string at The Emirates, even if that means losing his unbeaten record against Wenger.
  3. Even tho he has still been good i would say Balotelli, when he can be fucked he is absolutely unplayable, he would easily be the best after Messi and Ronaldo if he played like he did against Germany at the Euro's or Mexico in the Confederation's cup more often, he has so much talent it's insane. @Rmpr, The Denilson that played for Betis? i remember playing LMA Manager 2003 and he was the best rated player in the game alongside Recoba for Inter
  4. What's the odds off another controversial Felipe Santana winner in the last second?
  5. Wenger should be if he is on a neutral channel, Neville probably hates being rational towards Liverpool but he is professional and just gets on with it.
  6. Apart from Gary Neville, is their a proper decent pundit around? Carragher's ok but even he has had his backside handed to him by Nev a couple of times (Scholes/Gerrard and Luiz). Neville's punditry is so refreshing, he gives different outlooks and perspective on thing's and really makes you think, i remember when City lost 1-0 to Arsenal in April 2012 i thought Aguero was quiet, but Neville's punditry actually showed that Aguero was making the right moves all game and could have got 4 if his players saw it and played him through. His anaylsis on the Classico two years ago brought a complete new perspective on how Barca play (as i have already alluded to on this thread). He gives a completely different outlook to the general consensus, he one of the very, very few pundit's who really earns his money as far as im concerned. It's fucking depressing, i never thought i would see the day where im grateful for the presence of Neville in any way shape of form.
  7. When Townsend was the age Josh is now he was on his 6th loan at Millwall (following a epic fail of a spell at Watford). Too early still to say for sure.
  8. It's been like that ever since Jose was here last. Too many games we came unstuck (Fulham at home the standout example) when United were romping the same fixture. Even in the double season we dropped a lot of stupid points, we got away with it because of our perfect record against the big 4, as much as one draw against Arsenal, United, Liverpool we would have lost the title.
  9. Haven't you heard? they always wanted Chadli and thought he was the superior option
  10. Hopefully we won't, between City and Arsenal games is a chance to really put a run together, it's said that the title comes down to the head to head between the big boys, but i think that's an over-rated cliche, more often than not it comes down to who tosses away the less stupid points, that's the reason Rafa and Ancelotti don't have that many league title's while Jose and Fergie have them coming out of their ears.
  11. I have been saying that for a few weeks now, considering we have already got three of our hardest away games out of the way, i think we are in a very strong position. If we can beat City next Sunday, then we will be in the best position to win the league since 2009/10, it would be that huge a victory.
  12. This may sound crazy, but if it comes down to it i would rest him for a CL game (if he really, really needs one), our priority this season has to be getting back on the wagon as far as a title challenge is concerned, the cup's (CL included) come a distance second for this season atleast.
  13. True, what upcoming matches (along with Arsenal) would you suggest resting him?. This would have been the time where Van Ginkel would have got his fair share of games, what a shame, we are basically back to the pivot of last season but with Essien as the emergency 4th option instead of Luiz.
  14. Agree about Luiz and Ivanovic but Ramires is our most important player right now, we have enough problem's with the pivot with him playing let alone without. He needs to play as many games in the League and CL as possible until January then hopefully we can sort the pivot once and for all.
  15. The next 2 months we will be able to get a better idea on where Arsenal actually are. 09/10 they looked just as good in the lesser games at home but crumbled against Chelsea/United and physical teams away from home.
  16. That's true, while Eto'o hasn't been scoring i think his overall play for us has been fine. Makes the slating off him bewildering, even more so given the time and excuses given to Torres.
  17. He does ok at centre back, but i remember under Ancelotti, he was the best right back in the league, one game that sticks out was Arsenal away (when we won 3-0) Arshavin was one of in form players around and every 'expert' predicted him to rip the 'makeshift centre back' apart, but Ivan marked him out of the game and rendered the Russian anonymous
  18. Few Watford fans "McEachran and Murray were excellent" "Belkalem is not good enough. Iriney is good butalongside McEachran the midfield was too flat until Murray came on. As soon as Acuna came on, we stopped looking threatening." "McEachran - Did very well, his vision is by far his best asset. One sloppy-ish pass but unfortunately that led to the 2nd goal" "McEachran was our best midfielder today, the kid looks class I hope we can nick him from Chelsea." "I thought the majority of the team had a decent game. McEachran was solid if unspectacular" "McEachran was a positive for me today, again always busy and generally very good on the ball. " "McEachran was OK. I didn't really notice him doing anything really good or bad" "Felt McEachran or McGugan should have gone off, not Fabbrini. Neither had a bad game but we should have gone 3-4-3 just to change it up, even if only for 5 minutes." โ€‹(referring to Iriney) "He is good. We need a player who does what he does. He barely gives the ball away and he does stick to a role, which he's been given, just in front of the back three. The issue was, McEachran does much the same job and neither of them is going to burst forwards and take the ball into the box. " The highlighted bit about Josh is spot on. "I was also pleased with McEachran's performance, but Murray added the forward drive we needed. All fit, I think out first team looks like: Almunia, Anya, Faraoni, Ekstrand, Angella, Doyley, Abdi, McGugan, Murray, Deeney, Forestieri" "Midfield. I thought Mccheachran had a very good game but we can't play him and Ireney together and if I had a choice it would be Mccheachran for the home games and maybe Ireney for the away." http://www.wfcforums.com/showthread.php?49366-Watford-FC-vs-Derby-County-19-10-2013/page5
  19. I hated Luiz in midfield personally, never sat right for me (i hated Ivan at CB too, always preferred him as a RB), press him hard enough in the middle and he will lose possession. His ball playing skills are an asset from CB because no one is tracking him.
  20. He played what? 15 times in midfield in a season we played 69 games, that isn't that big a number in the grand scheme of things. I have no problem with pundits critisising when it's deserved, it's the creepy behavior of the pundits/commentator's in this country that grind my gears. For example last season when he went off against Arsenal due to a knock, Alan Smith implied he was not injured and infact faking it to hide embarrassment Not that i needed to say, but the fact Arsenal started peppering our goal after he got took off was conveniently ignored.
  21. For the record i was never part of the Luiz captain group, i don't think any of our first team players in their 20's are captain material, quite frankly, i think our next full time one will be Chalobah.
  22. The point is lots of pundits and fans thought Bosingwa was a good player, a lot of pundits and fans rate Kyle Walker, who is absolutely awful. Pundits rave over Vertonghen, who is often caught with his pants down in matches (and then has to literally do it to opponents that fuck him over ) Pundits in general are awful, they don't have their own opinion, they just casually and sheepishly follow the same tired old myth's, even in Romania, where Luiz has an almost perfect match (Babara produced stats) they were still going on about him at every opportunity. I could just about take this creepy behavior if they credit his great matches, but they don't, when he makes a good interception, produces strong play, strong overall match, they say nothing, absolutely nothing. I mean Lawrenson brought him up previewing the Spain VS Uruguay match, does that sound like normal behavior? Gary Neville offered a completely different perspective to the DL myth, if only their was as much as one other pundit like him in this country. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SuPbN_GkFmc
  23. If we have just sold Luiz for big money, Dortmund would milk that and make us pay similar. Like Newcastle did to Liverpool for Carroll, knowing how much they were getting in for Torres.
  24. Alan Hansen? well that settles it then. Might aswell quote John Cross aswell, deary me. Hansen clearly doens't like cultered defenders because he was another hoof it into row z player. Were are these 'so many' mistakes? can you name them? and not one's were at least two players both fucked up at the same time. Plus Bosingwa was an awful full back, and it took nearly 4 years for him to get any form of criticism by pundits, their a bunch of clueless buffon's, only Gary Neville is worth listening too.
  25. Because Gotze had a release clause, it's the only reason he was allowed to go their, let alone that cheaply.
