  1. Arsenal must not win today, as far as i am concerned, the mental boost that will give them will be massive. City winning at home is the norm, they won't get too much of a lift from winning this because it's what's to be expected, Arsenal however winning at Eastland's will send a clear message off intent to the rest of the division and it will change the dynamic of the title race completely.
  2. The point im trying to make is we can't win or lose the title today, we could lose 0-2 today and not have a single attempt on goal and still mathematically be top in new year.
  3. Aslong as we play more triangles and Mata plays 90 minutes, Palace can win 5-0 for all i care.
  4. What allowed Pogba to shine, is Juve's squad was well balanced, had a player in his peak (Vidal) and a player of great experience (Pirlo) playing next to him. There is giving youth a chance, then there is turning into an Olympic team. Also to add for one of those people that you have listed, their is a group like the lads we tried to promote (Kakuta, PVA, Bruma and Kakuta), we still haven't recovered from stripping our squad bare, or when we got tonked 3-0 at home to Sunderland did you say "oh well, atleast our bench was full of our youth cup winning team" ? We promoted 4 young players thinking they were ready, they weren't and we suffered for it, so surely you can understand why some are a bit skeptical of us doing that again, no? By all means put them in the squad and build their role gradually, but i draw the line at putting them in a position were we could be reliant on them at the age of 18.
  5. Football doesn't work like that, do i need to remind you in 05/06 we "only" beat the 2nd worst team in PL history 2-0 and 2-1?
  6. We already have two talented barely out of teens CB's in Kalas and Omerou. I would rather we went for a CB a bit closer to his prime, like Mangala, if we were going to go fro a center half.
  7. Are we still pining for Didier? come on now, i love him as much as the next Chelsea fan, but any one expecting a serious difference in what we are getting off a 35 year old are letting their heart rule their head, our striker problem was just as bad in 11/12 when Drogba was here, it was that bad it got the point people were suggesting bringing Kalou back from exile. Did you see some of Drogba's performance's in his last two season's? he just didn't have the hunger or energy for the regular league football anymore, some of his performances against the lesser outfits off the division were not far off Torres level. If you want Didier to boost the strikers goals tally and go to Selhurst Park ot the KC and perform out of his skin, you are going to be sure of a big surprise. Leave his legacy be, get 2 strikers in (one being Lukaku obviously) and we will be on top in that department again, onwards and upwards.
  8. Well he signed most of those players that are not "right", so what's to suggest he would have been any different if he remained here. Spurs were no different last season, they just got Baled out by Gareth numerous times.
  9. Yes because his Spurs side are playing breathtaking attacking football
  10. Exactly, for one Matic or Sturridge there's 20 (maybe more) Borini's, Mancienne's Sinclair's or Di Santo's, which is quite funny i remember being told we would regret it when we let those 4 forenamed players. Although i do think Cork should have stayed and been the versatile homegrown, squad player.
  11. Yeah but it's better to get the CM in then risk losing out of them full stop just because we were a bit jittery on the cup tied thing. If it ultimately came down to an emergency in the CL for this season Luiz can play there (and that is ultimate emergency) and MVG should be back by then.
  12. The league is the most important thing in football and they can play that.Being cup tied isn't that big a deal in the grand scheme of things.
  13. Stoke had a similar record to that before last week and with our defense lately, Pulis will smell blood.
  14. A standard and comfortable 2-0 will suit me down to the ground. These you shoot, we shoot games really aren't all they are cracked up to be.
  15. You are right, i am hoping that will change soon, and the chances he gave to Huth, Mikel and Diarra last time, give me reason to believe it will. He was also slowly bringing Sinclair into the fold before he did in his knee against Man.Utd.
  16. Is this the same Jose that gave Huth numerous chances despite being shit and us having arguably the three best CB's in Europe? Or the one handed 17 year old Scott Sinclair his debut in a title decider? and even gave a chance to average tripe like Ben Sahar, Or the Jose that played Mikel and Diarra as teenagers? He maybe could have done more this season, but you do realize the manager you have used as an example of how it should be done played Paulo Ferreira at CB ahead of Bruma and constantly ignored Sturridge?
  17. Real Madrid under Jose scored over 100 league goals, yet half this forum won't shut up about how "boring" his Real side was. Liverpool have been getting by and scoring with individual great goals by Suarez, he is playing great football but Liverpool as a team? no chance. When they won their first 3 i was amazed, i have never seen a team play so bad for 3 games in a row but win them all. Liverpool fans who i know this season have all to a man said that they are confused about why Brendan has abandoned him high pressing, pass and move game this season (that certainly looks the case when i watch them play), they are not complaining right now because they are getting results, but if the results start drying up, expect this issue to be brought up by them a lot more.
  18. I can defiantly see/understand why we signed him, even if other position's were more off a concern. Before he came in we were a Mata injury away from relying on 22 year old's in our key position, im all for giving youth a chance, but even youth obsessed clubs like Southampton have some form of age balance. Also people wanted Lukaku and Van Ginkel to get fair chances, but how could they if the AM's were so young every game? we would be slowly turning into a Olympic team while making the Arsenal team's that bottled it (due to lack of expierence) look like a group of seasoned veterans. Look at 10/11 for example, United won it because they had the perfect balance of youth (Rafeal, Hernandez) players in or around their prime (Rooney, Vidic, you could argue Berbatov too as he was outstanding that season) and a lot of experience (Giggs who assisted all 5 goals United scored against us in the last two months, Scholes, Cuntinand), we lost it because of lack of hunger, Arsenal bottled it due to lack of experience.
  19. Liverpool attractive football? haha, they have been playing anything but that this season.
  20. Rather go for more experienced player if we go for a centre half, we have a young enough team as it is.
  21. 1-0 win, not a great performance but a relatively comfortable win. If we could have done that more often in the league we would probably be top. An average but comfortable 2-0 win against Palace would make my weekend. Give me that over a you score, we score 4-3 any day.
  22. We have to consider the top 4 the top 3 again. We can't ignore the possibility of United doing what we did in 2012.
  23. What was an isolated incident. In his first season he got 1 yellow and that was for taking his shirt off after scoring the goal that won City the league.
  24. With the debate about who should play at centre back, i think it's gone past the point of which one (out of him and Cahill) make more mistakes per se, it's more about how they can handle the opposition. I mean if we play Real Madrid at any point in the CL this season, who would you have more confidence playing and 'handling' the opposition? Cahill or Luiz? for me it's the later every time.
  25. What he means is it can't be used as a basis of how the player will do when it really counts, Moses looked good in America, now he looks out of his depth at Liverpool. Marin was our best pre season player in 2012 but whenever he played competitive games he made Wright-Phillips spell at Chelsea look like the second coming of Zola. Kezman was our best player in 2004 pre season,i could go on.
