  1. Since Jose has returned they have barely created any real chance against us. In the 3 games last season Giroud had one chance in each game, at The Bridge in October the closest they had to a chance was Wilshere just after the opener and today they created absolutely nothing.
  2. and Pellegrini, Rodgers, Wenger and the rest of purist fc have brainwashed other's in the complete opposite direction. Anyway we were playing great football for most of the five months before Christmas.
  3. I reckon one youngster a game will play if we secure the title before day 38 (I still don't like taking anything for granted) but that will be it, we will want to secure as many point's as possible and won't want to end the season on a whimper.
  4. Of course but it doesn't change how much of a flop he was, just like Bosingwas interception shouldn't stop him getting the critics. It was a great moment, but not a 50m repaid moment.
  5. Ramires was actually the one who scored the tie changing goal, and it was Bosingwa that made an interception that prevented us from going out yet it's Torres that gets heralded a hero despite nearly undoing all our hard work twice in the ten minutes he was on, Bosingwa was the hero of the moment for me because his contribution was actually the difference between us going to Munich and not. If we signed Crouch, gave him the chances and excuses Torres got he would have scored goals some being vital doesn't change the fact he is nowhere near good enough to play for Chelsea.
  6. It's hardly unexpected, even Hazard doesn't get the credit he truly deserves because he isn't a stat whore.
  7. Interesting discussion about it with a friend the other day, we were discussing when we eventually gave up this false hope about Torres and just accepted the fact he turned into a shit footballer? Got me curious about all your tipping points, purely because we had the same old discussion in his thread for years but never really discussed our respective moments which made us truly give up on him. For me I was pretty early, I wrote off the first 6 month's and tried to convince myself he would be fine with pre season, more creative player's etc etc, he had a few promising games but quickly resorted back to type, the Arsenal 5-3 I started to turn, after the Liverpool Carling Cup match I truly realised this guy was done and even suggested cutting our losses as early as January 2012.
  8. That's been the key difference between Mou and Greenie. Mou realised the form was dropping so prioritiesed the results, Pellegrini hid behind his 'style' and City have completely bombed. Im quite clearly in the minority but I just don't see the appeal of a purist in charge of our club.
  9. This, this, this, this and this. I was saying that for ages, the Schalke, WBA and WHU displays amongst others, no way do we perform as well with constant rotation.
  10. Fonte is a good shout, I think I did him injustice last season by saying he looked good cause of Lovren, judging by this season it was the other way round if anything.
  11. Yes it's always the last home game unless you don't secure it until after the last home game where then your lift it wherever your playing on day 38, so for example if we won it on the last day last season we would have had the party in Cardiff.
  12. Tbh I don't think they have been that good, they are just alive now compared to the dross they were playing under Lambert. Manager's like Redknapp, Sherwood who are like chest beating motivators with very little tactical nous are just the type of manager's Mou has for breakfast.
  13. Sorry but I can't agree with that, Cahills been good overall for us but he's nothing on a prime Carvalho.
  14. Fergie doing it wasn't really once in a blue moon, he would do it whenever he feels it's nessesery, he has always been partial to it. I can list a number of examples in the morning but right now im too pissed (birthday). Of course ideally id love to see us blow a big team out of the water, infact we did do it on Jose's return vs Liverpool and Arsenal (the 2-1 flattered Liverpool big time) but I don't honestly believe this squad is anywhere near complete (one for a greavsie explains it much better than I do).
  15. outstanding pieceI have said it before and will say again, purists/idealists who only have one way to play are ruining the game, I would cringe if we appoint a manager who went on about possession and moral victories.
  16. you said and I quote "we have been the luckiest team this year with regard to injuries" to then I responded it's not luck that we have a good medical team. I think you need to take your own advice about putting the brain into gear, but doesn't matter to me anyway, you're heading back on ignore, permanently this time.
  17. So it's a lucky coincidence we have been one of the least affected teams with injuries for years?
  18. There is no luck in having a top medical team.
  19. If he's expecting a starting spot on a plate then I would rather sell him. Lukaku making that demand was bad enough, but he hasn't played a single PL game.
  20. Fergie employed the tactics many times at United, including at The Nou Camp in 2008 with his best ever team, LVG did it in the WC semi. Infact the way we set up yesterday reminded me of how Ancelotti use to set us up against Arsenal, allow them possession were they can't hurt us and then hurt them on the counter.
  21. Exactly, some people seem to think just because we are the better team we shouldn't bother nullifying their threats. That type of arrogance is what cost Brendan Rodgers the title.
  22. The thing is we did play really great footy in the first 6 months off the season, since January the form has dropped but we are still picking up the results, that is what has given us such a huge gap against the other 3, we all have had amazing spells and average spells, the difference being we have been picking up the results playing badly.
  23. If you want to bring up Ancelotti, the football we played in his second season was worse than anything we have played this season, or even under AVB for that matter. and why exactly are you going down the fan boy route? Jose is one of the most influential characters in the club's history whether you like it or not, aren't we suppose to love and support people who have such an influence on our club and given and still is giving us great memories, or have I not read the memo?
