I looked at the table in 04-05 then 05-06 and we got 95 then 91 points, didn't realise it at the time but the only difference between the two sides point's wise was the results after we lifted the title. We were on 91 point's both times we had the party at The Bridge but in 2005 we picked up four point's in the games after compared to none in 2006. Which in a way kind of strengthens the argument to try and get 9 point's in the next 3 games, if this team want to be compared to those two in years to come, they will probably atleast have to hit the late 80s.

Mourinho is always up for evolving and he will drop anyone if he believes it benefits the team. How many times have we heard that Mou loves a certain player and would never drop him only for him to go and do just that? Cahills a good player, but if we sign Varane then he's relegated to squad player.
-
Obviously he would be doing better than Carver to suggest otherwise would be moronic, the point for me is the Carver disaster doesn't automatically mean Pardew was suddenly better than he was or people thought. It's like when LVG struggled at the start this season people questioned whether Moyes was really that bad at United, well yes he was he did awful and deserved the sack and that fact wouldn't change even if Louis relegated them.

Cuadrado like Torres did will at the very least get the first half of next season, the club won't write off a £24m investment after less than 10 appearances. Luckily unlike with the Torres situation we have Mourinho in charge now so there be none of these excuses and pandering to him in the hope he comes good.

If anything I think WBA might be the free shot were 2 or 3 youngster's play, don't think Jose will want to damage the home record Speaking off West Brom away im so so glad nothing is riding on that, Tony Pulis sides in their own back yard always make me feel incredibly uneasy so it's good we have effectively chalked that fixture off.
-
Begovic as a number two is probably the best (slightly) realistic option we can hope for next season, I'm not convinced he will accept that but I'd be delighted if im proved wrong. If I am right I would be content with Green, a very good keeper who unfairly had his reputation ripped in two due to one bad error.

Whether they play 270 minutes or none in the next 3 game's it won't change their long term chances either way, Jose won't decide on whether they will make it or not on the back of 3 game's where the job is done.If you don't believe me check out the youth player's that featured after we won the league in 2005 and 2006 or indeed who featured when we had nothing to play for in 2007. However judging by those times a couple will feature in some capacity, if he brung on Jimmy Smith im sure RLC will be at worst afforded the same luxury at least once.
-
Just wait until it's confirmed RLC doesn't start on Sunday, this place will crash.

Tbf Irrc it wasn't actually Jose that turned him into a DM full time, it was Scolari, I read somewhere that Jose had him in DM for half his games but when him and Maka both played Mikel was further up.

More I look at Arsenal the more I see similarities with Liverpool in 05/06 when they had a ridiculous end to the season sparking all the talk of 'next year being their year' only to win 6 out of the first 15 the following season. It will be a completely different ball game in August and this run is as likely to work against them as it is for them.

I just can't get my head around their moral victory bolax. When I lose to my best mate on fifa with more possession I say it as a joke and can't keep a straight face, it's mind blowing how they can not only say it while being serious in the process but the supporter's lap it up.
-
That's his way, disagree and he takes it to a personal level. How he gets away with it ill never know, he's basically another version of Kojo (who got banned).
-
This team is really good and only going to get better but the 2005 one over this one for me. They were ridiculously good and the closest we had to a weakness was Paulo who was still a very good full back. However this group are still evolving so maybe the comparison will be more accurate in 2/3 years time.

Yeah but like I said, just because Carvers doing even worse doesn't mean Pardrew was that great.
-
After 11/12 he didn't do very good atall, infact his record after that season was piss poor, if they actually appointed a manager as his replacement they would at worst be doing the same. Just because Carvers done even worse and Pardrews had a great start for Palace doesn't mean Alan was doing great at Newcastle because he wasn't by any stretch of the imagination.
-
I would personally let Tibo have this one and give Cech the last two.
-
We should be thankful for his obsession with style because it's partly the reason we have been crowned Champions so early. Since the new year both us and City have dropped off performance wise but Mou switched the tactics to make sure the results didn't suffer with it while Greenie hid behind his 'style' and because of it City bombed. I genuinely hope Pel, Rodgers and the rest of Purist FC stay at our rival's for many years to come.
-
That's really quite true and what I notice too is when a top team narrowly beats a lesser team they are automatically lucky to win. Take this fixture last season when we won 2-1, pundits were saying Palace should have won, no way on the balance of play did Palace deserve to win but because it's a lesser team running one of the big boys close........

I had an argument with a mate about this back in 2009 when United playing a weekend side at Hull when the title was wrapped up caused a bit of controversy, due to Hull still being in relegation trouble going into the last day. I had the same view then that I will express if we do similar in the coming games, we have done our job and it's not our fault other's haven't done theirs. As long as the team we put our give everything to win, there shouldn't be a problem.
-
I would cringe, would be so unsportsmanlike, fellow pro's shouldn't put another one through that because one day that could happen to them. Banter should be left to the fans.

Green Clyne Varane (if not Stones) Pogba (or a midfielder in that level) Milner new versatile forward Those players with possibly a couple of loan returns, a higher role for RLC and hopefully Cuadrado resembling something of a footballer will equate to an even better summer than last. First team, depth and HG quota all significantly boosted in one summer (with the exception of goal but having Cech as a back up is very rare luxury we were lucky to even get this season). A summer window like I have just described and I can't see anything beyond us winning back to back title's.

The thing is when watching Jose's interviews when it gets to talking about general life and player's on a personal level it's actually pretty clear he is one of the most humble people around. Jose in football will do what it takes to win and that can rub people up the wrong way but I find it hilarious how they think he's like that for real.
-
To be fair, even Lampard thought we were getting twated after Barcas second.
-
I'm not saying it does, but a lot of the time it don't make them a bad person. For example one of my best mates back in school cheated on his missus a few years ago, yet overall he's one of the most genuine nice people you could ever meet.
-
To be honest most of the thing's he's done a lot of the people who slate him have probably done similar things. Like the affair for example 90% of relationships have cheating in one form or another.
