I know im quoting this late but only just seen this post. I don't see what the appeal of Butland is, he is crap and his reputation is solely built on the Olympics.

If pre season was a true barometer Marko Marin would be here still. fair point re the first game.

I have a cash builder and not a proper card (got drunk a few years ago and went into massive overdraw so can't trust myself) so I can't use money online atall. If there is any other way ill put 20 in a week on Friday.

Look at the minutes Azpilicueta got until about mid October that season, he was in just as much peril as KDB but he made the most of the chances he got and made himself a fixture, then rose to the challenge of Felipe Luis coming in and has got even better. When you are out of favour in a competitive squad you need to make use of the minutes you get, no one was expecting KDB to be on his best form, but to show something to give Mou food for thought, he showed nothing.

The obsession with big game records is hilarious, no one has flawless record's in big games, even look at Drogba, he was known as the ultimate big game player due to his cup final goals, however his big game record in the league (in terms of goals and overall performance) apart from vs Arsenal wasn't that great.

Not deliberately, but this day in age we have more and more attack minded purists who go on about attacking style and stubbornly stick with those "principles" even when results aren't going well.Brendan probably arrogantly thought that his attacking philosophy was strong enough to get away with not putting a big emphasis on defence.

Doesnt know or doesn't want too? His refusal to have Carragher in the coaching staff and his comments after we derailed their title party suggests the latter.
-
There funny, some of them actually decide whether they want Wenger in or out based on the last result.
-
Also to add they point to his stats to try and discredit him which is hilarious because after Dennis Bergkamp they should be the last fanbase to hold stats against a player.
-
Might put a sneaky fiver on Sunderland to finish top ten next season. Advocaat is an expierenced manager who knows what he is doing, and some really do underestimate the difference a manager can make.

Quick question to the admins. Kojo, TOPTB and many more got banned for personal post's like these yet this moron gets away with it time after time, im not one for these type of post's but he has been getting away with it for year's and never gets brought up on it, not like other's do anyway. So can someone please enlighten me as to why no action has ever got taken against him? that post isn't a one off.

3 title's in 2 decades isn't great with the team's he's had, and his teams do have a habit of getting complacent at awfully inappropriate times like when we were at the top of our league then went on our worst run for ten years, say what you like about Jose, but that would never happen under his control. He is a good manager but not on the same level as Mou, Pep, Fergie (when he was managing) in my opinion.
-
Actually it's not, they are a lot closer than people think. Both manager's have fundamental flaws that often creep up in a league campaign (which is why neither have great record's at winning title's) but both are capable of pulling the rabit out of the hat in cup's.

Under appreciating him how? Some just think he is a decent option who will get us goals when he's needed, nothing wrong with that, and saying he isn't on Costas level isn't under appreciating him either. That's one thing I've noticed about Chelsea on all forum's I've been on, any decent squad player fan's tend to instantly overrate and suggest shoe horning him into the first Xl, there was even times last season where some were suggesting giving Schwarzer a run of games as #1.
-
It's quite a sobering thought that Liverpool payed £20m for Lovren and Saints replaced him with this guy.
-
It's funny, when Carlo was here everyone was moaning about the player power and how player's are getting too comfortable knowing they can be shit without getting bollocked, now we have a manager who isn't afraid to give our player's a few home truths there's moaning about poor treatment.
-
Iva gets a lot of critiscm but him and Bertrand have the exact same major weakness to there game. Both let too many crosses into their box (it's how we got our goal at Stamford Bridge vs Saints) yet Ivan gets lambasted for it but no one brings it up about Ryan because it doesn't suit the "completely solid with no flaws" line people throw in his direction.

I've felt for about a year now that he feels like a 2nd chance at developing McEachran. I think the mistake we made with Josh was promoting him and giving him high wages so young, as soon as he bagged his Corrie misses he thought he made it.
-
Is he still playing?
-
God knows but there would have been more time to find who Jose wanted.
-
I know you said it in jest but im sure a few regulars do train in goal on occasion just incase one day we need one to actually go in goal during a game.
-
Liverpool at the time were on top form with Suarez playing at the inhunam level of Ronaldo and Messi, we were not at our best and people expected us to sit deep and counter or even park the bus, but we pressed high, got in their faces and absolutely destroyed them, if we went into half time 3 or 4 goals up they could have had no complaints whatsoever. That's why I used them as an example.
-
I guess he just simply doesn't rate Remy on the level or as an equal to Costa like he did with the previous pair's I mentioned. After all as much as he appreciates Remys value in the squad now, he clearly wasn't a planned signing and was initially signed because we needed a cheap striker with decent qualities on short notice as Fernando finally took the hint, if Blondie done one in June chances are we would have signed someone else.
-
So im guessing that would look something like this. -----------Fernandinho--------Yaya---------- Sterling-------------KDB----------------Silva -------------------------Aguero------------------- Looks great on paper but the phrase too many cooks come to mind, they might drum up a few fancy scorelines but off the ball that lineup will struggle and team balance is vital especially in a league campaign whether the purists like it or not.

That's down to him.
