  1. Robben had a record breaking number of shots in that game, I wouldn't say he kept him quiet.
  2. Being wrong about Oscar doesn't also make him automatically wrong about Mata. Dropping then eventually selling Juan was 100% the right decision by Jose, were he went wrong was that he picked the wrong replacement, it should have been De Bruyne. Part of me wonders if he wanted Mata and KDB to have had each others roles in terms of the minute's he gave them, I feel the politics with the fans almost forced Jose into playing Mata more than he even really wanted too.
  3. Jose, despite what's about to happen hes still our greatest manager.
  4. I don't think any body who catches feelings for a club to a point they are one of us can join a rival, I'm trying to see it from their perspectives but it's hard, if I played for Galatasaray and built such a connection with the club and fans, I just cannot for the life of me ever want to risk what I built by joining Fenebache. How could Cech even look at Arsenal after 11 years at Chelsea? He could still have a family life in London and play anywhere in Western Europe, this is 2016, I read somewhere that Ronaldo goes to see a friend in Morroco a few times a week, Cech could have stayed living in London play abroad, Rafa is another one that did it when he was at Madrid and Naples. I dont see how many are so relaxed about our legends going to rivals, it's happened three years in a row which is unheard off in the football world, I appreciate what they did for this club and I'd never hate them, but their will always be the elephant in the room.
  5. Wait, so he hasn't scored since the FA Cup game? No wonder this thread went quiet
  6. No thanks, he isn't even half the player he was in 2012.
  7. Looks good although in a 4-4-2 both CMs need to be good defensively, Cesc there In a 2 would worry me.
  8. And record points, often theirs a debate between Arsenal and Chelsea fans on which is better, unbeaten vs record points, Conte has done both in Italy.
  9. He can do what he wants, but fans also have the right to feel what they want, and seeing a club legend joining a rival for the third season in a row is not going to go down great with many and why should it? Robert Pires got told to leave Arsenal in a harsh way but you didn't see him rock up at a rival, rumour has it De Boer wanted to take Bergkamp as assistant if he took the Tottenham job but Dennis told him no chance. If Athletici sacked Simeone for whatever reason, id put my life on the fact he won't go Real or Barca. What he's done for the club won't be erased or forgotten, but I can't pretend I'm not disappointed.
  10. That what I think, although I believe the criticism of Costa is massively overrexaggarated, him and Lukaku would never work, and if it's one or the other, then I choose Diego 100 times out of 100.
  11. Although I agree in general, i can't agree with the Lukaku example, he wanted number one and we were signing Costa, no manager in the world would bow down to that, imagine if he pulled that on Fergie? The Scot would have sorted out Romelus transfer there and then. I think the problem with some on here is that anytime a player proves themself a decent squad player (Begovic, Remy the main two examples for this) is for whatever reason some people get overexcited and think they are good enough to start, then when it becomes cleaR they aint, the crash happens and they try and compensate by criticisingthem to high heaven. A striker I wouldn't mind is Troy Deeney, for reasons I've explained in the thread ive created about him.
  12. I'm all for him signing Lukaku if it prevents us spunking an obscene amount to get him back.
  13. Allegri has actually done a good job keeping up the motivation (complacency is a killer in football as we have found out after winning the title last year and 2010) to go again but that's not the point. Conte took an ailing team and club that were heading fast to midtable (similar to what's happened at AC) and re-energized them, he had Napoli with Cavani, Lavezzi and Milan (just before they declined) with Ibra, Thjago Silva and blew them out of the water.
  14. Luckily I think he will until either health dictates otherwise or they win one of the big two.
  15. You might want to check the positions Juventus finished in the table the two seasons prior to his appointment before saying something so absurd.
  16. On another note however, with Conte, Pep, Mou, Klopp, Pochettino and Ranieri (I think Leicester will have another great season), potentially a top manager at Everton and maybe Koeman if he strengthens hard enough at Saints to compete with, could next year finally be the year Wenger drops out of top 4?
  17. Just another reminder of how immortal JT and Drogba are. I mean seriously what next summer? Zola at Spurs to assist Pochettino
  18. Arsenal won't challenge until they get rid of Wenger.
  19. The nicest thing I could say about this potential deal is it looks good compared to Torres at £50m.
  20. This summer we will be able to hide behind the it's a one off line with a relative success, Dortmund still managed to have a decent window last summer, Conte appointment defiantly helps our cause. If we don't get back in the top 4 next summer, that is when we will start having serious problem's.
  21. It will have no bearing whatsoever, as Di Matteo showed club knockout football can't be compared with league, let alone international knock out, the dynamics are so different. But don't expect that to stop people coming in here declaring him a flop if Italy exit before the quarters and/or suffer a defeat by more than two goals at any point. Id like to say it wouldn't happen, but it will, and Chelseafan26 (aka Didierforever) will be back on a new account by then to stoke the fire.
  22. Liverpool can't seem to get their head around the fact they are not a big club any more, their reduced status is driving them crazy, and its the same with Arsenal fans to an extent. They seem desperate to convince themselves were not or never will be a big club, but Bayern had like 3 trophies before the mid 60s now are arguably the biggest club in Europe, we weren't a big club In 1990 but we are now and we are only getting bigger, and its driving them mad.
  23. I honestly don't understand why it's just widely assumed Klopp will get his own players and everything will fall into place, he's done well in the cups but in the league, there has been no improvement to what was seen under Brendan, they are still riddled with inconsistency. He might turn out to be a great manager for them, but he could equally turn into a let down and even for Liverpool's standards, the overhype machine has been utterly ridiculous, you would have thought they would have learned from making idiots of themselves declaring Kenny and Brendan as the managers to bring them "back to were they belong".
  24. Maybe we should bring up Barca every time we go two goals down with ten men.
  25. We won't lose the ranking just based on tonight. it will be nauseating if Liverpool win this, especially from this position.
