  1. Who said anything about being bigger than the club? Pretty much every club in the world put their star assets on a pedestal. it's not putting them before the whole club, it's common sense.
  2. What does everyone see in Zouma? I have never once looked at him and thought potential world beater in the making but everyone else seems too.
  3. Why not? It's valid. And he may have been rubbish as a defender, but the point is his attacking play from fullback is the only part of his game that could pass off as a serious strong point.
  4. Kenedy at left back was the one thing Jose got right in that unprecedented mess of a season, he has potential in that position (atleast going forward), as a winger he's rubbish.
  5. Zappacosta & potentially Willian are goners. We can't be letting go of someone that could do a adequate job, unless there is buy back clause. Ive always thought he was out his depth for us in any circumstances bar attacking from left back.
  6. Looks authentically pleasing but lacks decision making and end product, he's basically the player some people have been brainwashed into believing Hazard is.
  7. Will be funny seeing the grass is greener crew on Blue Moon complain about their penny pinching while claiming how amazing we are
  8. Because football these days seem to suffer from loses of key players much much more than a loss of even the best managers. We lost Jose the first time at the absolute peak of his powers yet still basically managed ourselves to the CL final and through an intense title race. Barca lost Pep and still won titles at a impressive rate, I can't recall many times a team have lost such a key player to the extent Hazard, Kante etc are to us and didn't feel the loss at least in the short term.
  9. No, the way modern footy goes the star players are more important at ANY CLUB. Imagine if Barca choose Tata over Messi because it was the "right" thing to do? Or we let Jose wield out "the rats"?
  10. It's got the point any half competent manager is a better option than Conte.
  11. Why would you find Chelsea struggling hilarious?
  12. Most successful take ons in a World Cup match since 1966.
  13. Alonso has flaws but also some serious quality's, i certainly don't think he's bad enough to break our transfer record on an upgrade, especially when we have position's that desperately need reinforcements.
  14. Bit extreme, we aren't finishing mid table fffs!!!!
  15. Im guessing there's a recall clause incase Courtois/Alison and Willy get injured at the same time? If so then it doesn't make much sense.
  16. If Conte focused mainly on the training pitch we would have comfortably made top four. Failure to mount any form of title defense is on the board, failure to get top four is on Conte.
  17. 3 examples or not, it is still enough evidence to demonstrate we can play progressive tactics in big games and not get slapped about. Upto January i was stilll very happy with him all in all and would probably say he was doing as good as he could but post new year he was truly abysmal despite the cup win, i think our results were only worsened by AVB's last few months and the Jose meltdown period.
  18. We opened up vs United at The Bridge and battered them, we attacked Leti on their own patch and battered them, we attacked Liverpool at Anfield and were the better side. Yes he may not have got the best hand, but he is payed £9m a year to get the best out of what he's got and he didn't come remotely close to achieving it and the fact he as demonstrated with Italy NT and to an extent 16/17 is clearly capable of improving players with good coaching makes it even worse. The problem is, Conte is such a volatile character when he doesn't get his way even if they "make up" have an amazing transfer window we are one rocky road from him throwing anyone but himself under a bus again, he even had an issue with our policy of having a club based coach on the dugout, (there were even rumours he wanted Holland kicked of the coaching team when he arrived), even Mourinho had absolutely no issue embracing that policy. Imagine if we replaced Holland with Joe Edwards? We'd have some form of stability and a man ready to take caretaker charge if the worse comes to the worse and Sarri isn't done by pre season. Conte's spell at Chelsea is broken to the point of no return, we are better of starting the season with any half competant manager in comparison.
  19. He did very well at Watford and kept WHU up with no money, his spell at Birmingham has unfairly created a stigma towards him. Conte has burnt his bridges to the point that almost anyone is a better option despite his world class pedigree, i'd legit rather start the season with AVB mark 2 than AC.
  20. I may be pissing on romanticism and tradition here but for me a player loving the club is a bonus, a great one granted, but still a bonus. Extreme example but if Mbappe admitted he was a childhood Spurs fan and on the same day Benteke said he loved Chelsea all his life, would you rather the latter played for us?
  21. De Gea's as overrated as they come, great shot stopper but people bang on like he's Lev Yashin. Many times in both title winning season's Tibo kept his concentration up to make that one save after ages of inactivity, that's probably the most crucial skill at the top level for a keeper.
