  1. If we sold Alonso and wanted our new left back to play the exact same tactical role as Marcos, then the natural replacement would be Ryan Sessegnon. Or people wanting Oscar to play in the double pivot because he was good at pressing high up
  2. I'm sorry but that just won't work. At left back he often creeps in unnoticed into the area and causes havoc that way, if he played CF he would have specialist CB's tasked with giving him special attention, it's a totally different ball game.
  3. Sarri would have dropped him by now, he would have had to have smoked all the cigarettes in the world to calm him down trying to watch Rom play his footy.
  4. Ill put this out there. Mason is between 80 and 100/1 (depending on the bookie) to be Championship top scorer, he's scored 4 (two in the cup admittedly) and came close a further 5 ish times. I don't usually bet but this is defiantly worth a cheeky tenner.
  5. Sarri has said himself at the early stage it's better to train. Furthermore, we benefited well from 1 game a week season before last, it can't hurt putting our main players in that exact situation again for half a season.
  6. Slightly paranoid side is worrying Cahill and Moses will get the nod, maybe put Amps in DM and try CHO false 9. Someone on another forum suggested leaving the entire first Xl out of the group stages to train them for Sarri ball which sounds like a good shout. Caballero, Zappa, Christensen, Cahill, Emerson, Ampadu, RLC, Barkley, Moses, Hudson Odoi, Willian. SUBS: Bulka, 2 youth defenders, Drinkwater, youth midfielder, Abraham, Giroud. Should be more than enough.
  7. Musonda had 1 problem, he just wasn't good enough.
  8. He obviously won't, but if we both did, we have just as many players to cause them problems.
  9. Sancho played 12 times mainly from the bench, CHO wouldn't be starting every week in a major league. Nelsens also an academic year older aswell.
  10. Im sorry but it's not as straight forward as that, there's a reason very few 17 year olds play regular top flight football, even god like talents like Messi, Mbappe and Hazard made around 10-15 appearances at the same age. You could say Messi at 17 was better that Ludovic Guily, but the latter was getting the game time. I would wager CHO and Amps will be top two in terms of the 17-18 academic age group lads with first team minutes in Europe this season.
  11. I think Faria's influence is a bit overstated, if it wasn't then why couldn't he stop the bleeding when the same crap happened here?
  12. Can if the players free agent. Rumour has it that he's actually going Olympiakos.
  13. Not just for real, Bournemouth have beaten me at The Bridge 3 seasons out of 5 on my fifa career, two of which were 5-2
  14. As much as i would have liked Hudson on the bench a bit more context is needed, Mbappe made 14 appearances in the same academic age CHO is now, Messi only made 9. A solid 15 games each for him and Ampadu in all comps will represent progress, it's next season Sarri will really need to look at serious integration of both. Wouldn't be against a suitable loan move in Ethan's case but Callum needs to be the one that skips that process.
  15. He should have two assists with his dummy to Nugent vs Millwall but i don't think it will count as he didn't touch the ball.
  16. On another note will other clubs finally start being a bit more cautious appointing our ex managers on the back of them fucking up here? It's quite ridiculous how AVB and Jose fucked up beyond all reason yet walked into jobs at teams who finished above us. That's why i can't understand people saying we are a poisoned challice for managers, we represent probably the most risk free top job as far as (lack off) risk to reputation damage goes for manager's. Both Levy and Woodward fell for the "player powers fault not the managers at Chelsea" bolax and appointed AVB and Jose respectively, and by the sounds of it Woodward may well be set to do likewise again and approach Conte.
  17. Madrid started the decline but it was what happened in 2015 that totally did him. First 18 months back everything was going good (bar the KDB sale), but the 5-3 at WHL set the wheels going for what's been an unprecedented fall from grace.
  18. If someone told me in 2008 that ten years from now Jose Mourinho would be at Man.United and i would be hoping he stays and likely will be as gutted as when he left us the first time if/when he goes, i would have got the person who told me permanently sectioned. It's really surreal how far he's dropped.
  19. You just know Warnocks going to try and smash our players up and out of The Bridge in a few weeks, he did it with City last season and Sane was remarkably lucky not to break his leg. However Rafa's approach is a massive seal of approval to the job Sarri is doing, ive only ever seen such extreme defense tactics by San Marino against England.
  20. It's a notion to excuse the poor jobs they both did those years, furthermore wouldn't having a bunch of players who submit to managers no matter what be the total opposite of the type we want/need? As Roy Keane said you don't win titles with choirboys, yes even United under Fergie had players that would speak up.
  21. Jose and Conte's downfall had nothing to do with player power, the only one that did was AVB and i can't speak for you but im glad the "cunts" won that particular battle.
  22. I would rather we keep going at the system till it's perfected even if it means a few growing pains, if we go a bit more pragmatic for short term results it would ruin all the good work Sarri has done so far. We have committed to this direction now so we need to see it through with no comprises.
  23. Well yeah, it's the risk we have to take to keep him, if he doesn't sign a new deal and we don't make top 4 this year he will likely leave for even cheaper. Aslong as we keep making CL (which i can't imagine us not doing with this squad now we have a manager who won't lose his nut when not given a blank cheque) then we keep him, seems fair to me.
