  1. Plenty of options out there if we scout well, for example had we had a striker problem in 2015 i doubt Firminho would have been seen as a potential solution.
  2. Wouldn't Hiddink beat that? Or do they not count returning as a "start"? I disagree, a cap for over 21's yes but 21 and under should be unlimited, some players will now be wasting away in the academy when they could be out gaining crucial experience.
  3. Kova rumours are just that until someone reputable says otherwise. And Kepa counts,Sarri wanted him for Napoli and we got him for a record breaking fee instead of sponging for Jack Butland. It could go all wrong on this score but so far Sarri has been backed with two very important components needed for his football.
  4. What does that mean? You think Sarri won't get the players he wants? Early evidence suggests the opposite.
  5. Not that i would advocate selling Kante but there's away around all of that if Sarriball implodes, which in itself is not as definitive as you think, previous managers tenure's went South due to lack of ability as a coach (Big Phil and i say with a heavy heart RDM) destructive personality (Conte and Jose) or a bit of both (AVB), early days but it doesn't look like either will to apply to Sarri, we would more likely lose to him to an aggressive approach from a Barca or Bayern in my opinion. If we go for managers with similar tactical ideas that would ease any transition and mean it would be unlikely our next manager would curse a Sarri sale.
  6. This is what happens when a manager focuses on actually coaching you instead of moaning about how shit you are.
  7. Players won't see it in the same way the fans do, if CHO see's that there's a genuine progression plan for him behind the scenes i am fairly confident he will sign. I read somewhere (can't find the article again but if i do ill link it here and tag you) that Marcin Bulka stuck around this summer because Sarri has a plan for him.
  8. It's different to the KDB situation, the Belgium like for what 4 starts before being shipped off, Christensen has cost us numerous games since he fucked up vs Barcelona and we aren't talking a mini period here, we are talking 8 months since that Barca game and he hasn't once looked the player he was before that.
  9. We are the joint second highest scorers in the league with more goals than the supposed all singing all dancing Liverpool (which would still be the case even if you take out Barkley's goals). The problems we had last season was the lack of control on games, take the Messi, Henry and Eto'o front three at Barca as an example, how many goals down are they if you swap Busquets, Iniesta and Xavi for Kante, Bakayoko and Cesc? Quite possible almost half, look at Mertens and Insigne's tally under Rafa compared to Sarri. Of Course our front three ain't quite as good at that Barca one, but due to our midfield and how we dictate the tempo of games, all will likely end the season on more goals than what they were on last time round for all of Morata's flaws he has a very good chance of hitting 15 possibly 20 in all comps, possibly more if he can up his conversion rate by a fraction.
  10. https://video.twimg.com/ext_tw_video/1057735397399293953/pu/vid/1280x720/1nnbo5x7JBT3avSf.mp4?tag=5
  11. As much as im disappointed he's only had 30 minutes so far we have to factor in the fact he's only in his second year as a full time pro.For all the talk about Sancho and what a good career move he has made he had only 16 minutes of first team action this time this year. If he's still struggling for significant minutes this time next year then yes Sarri's policy with youth players needs assessing, but right now it really isn't too big an issue.
  12. We haven't lost by 4 or more goals for 16 years and have played worse than this against better teams than Palace , what on earth makes you think Palace could succeed where hundreds others have failed?
  13. All the other positions can be comprised but the one he needs a specific player is DLP, similar to how quality wingers made or breaked Fergie's tactics or wingbacks with Conte.
  14. From what i have read on Derby forums he plays high energy one touch attacking football with emphasis on being on the front foot (which is quite ironic given how much he resisted when AVB tried to implement that here). There's been a few rocky results (which you can expect taking over a Rowett side and trying to turn the team into a possession orientated outfit, from the vibe im getting also from the Derby forums he made Pulis look like Guardiola) but all in all Derby fans couldn't be happier with Lamps, Jody and co so far. I have myself only watched one Derby match so far when Leeds comfortably beat them 4-1, but you can excuse Lamps that one as playing a manager as experienced as Marcelo Bielsa on only your second ever game as a manager was always going to be an uphill battle.
  15. That"s a good point but also as our current manager has shown, if you are talented and dedicated enough eventually a path will open up and i do believe Jody has that type of talent as a coach. I fully agree with your Frank and JT assessments, as much as i love John i feel he can sometimes see things too black and white (his comments on Savage) and gets a bit too caught up in feuds (calling out Rafa two years on) both of which were massive red flags in my eyes. A bit premature maybe but i feel the club have a long term plan in motion whereas Lamps succeed's Sarri in a few years (iirc Mount hinted as much after joining Derby) but alternatively a lot can still go right (Sarri being so good he does a 10 stretch here which will mean Lamps could end up taking another big job instead of waiting, possibly City) or wrong (Sarri has a massive fall from grace, is sacked within the next year and Roman deems Lampard not ready yet) to make the time frame for this evolution not possible, but i feel that's the rough idea the club have in mind.
  16. I'm a bit surprised Jody didn't branch out himself, and i am even more surprised he accepted the offer to be Lamp's assistant, he has basically put himself further back in the que when it comes to being a future Chelsea manager. He would have stood more of a chance if he stuck around the club, he may have became Sarri's assistant and/or circumstances may have meant he stumbled on the interim job which would have been an open opportunity to prove his credentials, ala Di Matteo, long shot but certainly a shorter bet than his chances now.
  17. If the worst happened and we lost CHO i would rather drop a big sum on Sancho himself, it would be our karma with City after the KDB situation plus i don't rate Pulisic.
  18. Im going to this one, and i have so far never seen us either lose or concede from open play.
  19. He deserved all the hype last year, his inclusion tightened up our defense big time, infact it was probably the most solid defensively we were for years at one point. We weren't to know he was going to so spectacularly lose the plot after his first mistake.
  20. If you see the full interview then you will see he didn't say it randomely, he was asked who he would like to play for again and if you look at the managers he's played for so far it was a given he would say Jose.
  21. As strange as this sounds his missed chances is the one reason i haven't totally given up on Morata yet, to constantly get into those positions is a skill in itself and that's why i simply cannot put him on the same level as Torres, El Nino just stood static most of the time and we were basically playing with ten men and a stranger up top doing his own thing. How many times on average in say 5 games did Torres get a genuine chance of a goal? 3 maybe 4 at most, Morata beats that number in 20 minutes vs PAOK alone. As much as Morata frustrates me he doesn't come close to Torres in shitness in my opinion. As far as the bolded line goes, this might prove to be an unpopular opinion but we really missed a trick not going for Lacazette.
  22. Not even close, i think some of you are forgetting just how bad Torres was!!!
  23. Doesn't really matter either way, he will never see the pitch under Sarri.
  24. If we keep Kovacic and Eden and find a solution up front i feel we have a serious shot at the CL. A lot of maybe's rn but we ain't a million miles away.
  25. The direction we head in, he has pissed two league titles here so i highly doubt getting a 3rd is a dealbreaker. Educated guess he wants to play for an attacking team and have a genuine chance of winning the CL, it's up to us to show him we can provide both.
