Honestly mate, even we combine the two into one we still wouldnt get even half of what is Modric, from that combination.

I dont quite agree that he is not coming back to his groove, i believe he has improved a lot under RDM's tenure and has also worked on the other aspects of his game. And off late he has been showing signs of the old Torres. I agree that it took time for the coaches/managers to bench him but we need to understand that the owner has spend ridiculous amount of money to get a player so u cant just bench him after a game or 2. On the AVB thing, he really didnt handle Torres well (as a matter of fact he didnt handle quite a few players properly). Torres had started to play well in the initial part of the season if u remember until he got suspended after which he again went into his shell, i mean on the whole suspension thing, no one supported him. What do u expect the player is going to feel like, the morale of the player would just come down. At Liverpool he was well fed with the passes and he didnt have to backtrack to get the ball. At Chelsea there were so many times u would find him in the box and the other player/players would come and shoot away to glory rather than passing the guy who is in a better position. These are things which would frustrate any player but having said that he has improved his game a lot. THe heavy touches are clear signs of a demotivated player and i believe the difference in the performance was so evident under AVB and under RDM I m not a Torres fan but i do believe that he was not handled well at Chelsea, it would had been the same story with anyone else in his position. I hope this is a chance which he can take and prove his worth to the team, the coaches/managers, the owner and the fans.

Whether the likes of Gerrard, Lucas, Kuyt, etc in the Liverpool squad was better than ours can have a different thread altogether. But he excelled at Liverpool is the reason we got him plus he was decent enough for his national side too. He is among those who excelled for his clubs than his national team, it is as simple as that. There are lot of players who have not been good for their national side as compared to their clubs, so what? The 50m tag was sufficient itself for the coaches/managers to make him a first choice whether u like it or not, however when he was not doing well he was kept on the bench as well. And now when he is getting into the groove, u think he is not good enough. So what u suggest should be done?
-
Do u really want to get digging into the past as to what was done and what not. Yes he didnt play the way we expected him to, yes there is a lot of time spent to revive him, Yes he has been out of form for most of his Chelsea career but the thing is that after all this he is getting back his form, he's worked on the other aspects of his game. With a proper midfield (which we lacked atleast from the time Torres has come in) i believe he can really fire. And at this point of time if we are to get another striker so that he can play second fiddle to him, wouldnt that be a screw up? Yes we did everything to help him expect fill up the hole in our midfield which could and should had been done at the start of the last season or in the mid January window. I m not saying he would come in and score 30 goals next season ( we all wish that happens) but the confidence is there so lets cash on that and importantly he also has the support of his team mates. Provide him with a good midfield setup and who knows .... Form is temporary, Class is permanent.
-
Looks to me someone is regaining his lost confidence back and is wanting to go out to give it all. Thats a real good sign for us. Chelsea should really use this momentum and if we dont screw up, we could very well see the vintage Torres in whom we have invested heavily or maybe even better one.

If Burma is getting regular playing time then this is a good move for him to continue on loan. This season at Chelsea, Terry should be given the support/backup role while Cahill/Luiz/Ivanovic should lead the central defense line. And then next season Burma and Kalas should be introduced into that frame, if everything goes smooth then we mite see Burma making first team appearance after 2 seasons (ideal world scenario)

Great job! Cant wait for the second part now.... I sure that would have an extended timing
-
As much as i want him to stay, if he decides to go i would really be happy for him because u dont get a send off in this manner. And his last kick would penned with gold in history of the club as the midas touch which made us the champions of Europe. In one game itself he became the hero to the villain to a Legend.

Had so much to write about RDM but to sum it all in short ..... Hats off to u, RDM. True Legend! :tophat: :tophat: :tophat: :tophat: :tophat:

The best moment for me obviously was the win but it was Roman lifting the cup along with the boys. That was the priceless moment! -

CHELSEA SIGNS THREE-YEAR AUDI DEAL
coolhead23 replied to coolhead23's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
In terms of the richest club, i guess we are already 7th. With more inroads into the global market with sponsors like Sabeur, Audi, Samsung and with a new stadium as u mentioned i m sure we would be up there with the best. I hope whatever the article says about our fan base is true but i do believe that now we do have a very large fan base (thats for sure) spread across different geographies and this forum itself is a perfect example of that. -

http://www.4-traders.com/AUDI-AG-436431/news/Audi-AG-Audi-confirmed-today-as-sponsor-of-Chelsea-Football-Club-14335363/ Just a confirmation that we would be getting the seats as well "FA Cup winners Chelsea, who play Bayern Munich in the Champions League Final on Saturday, are ranked as the fifth largest team in the world in terms of fan base. Their stadium at Stamford Bridge will feature Audi branding for home matches, including the distinctive team seats in the dugout." -

With Chelsea being the new global partner, would this mean that United would no longer be having those seats with the Audi emblem ? :ph34r2: -
http://www.chelseafc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10268~2775883,00.html Seems like another good deal after the Sauber deal, good to see that we are trying every possible way to brand ourselves and also getting in more revenues for the club.

Fucking Brilliant. Felt like watching a 4 min movie with all drama and emotions. This surely has brought out a tear in all the Chelsea fans. Great work by who ever complied this video. Hope and pray that the creator gets another chance to make another blockbuster post Saturday.

It is based on his last few jobs. Being the coach of any top side specially on international level is nothing more than a graveyard however how you perform with what you have on hand determines how good or bad your. And i dont think he was the right man for England and likewise is not the best man for Chelsea.
-
Where did i say anything about wrong or right?
-
What happens tomm if he does a U turn and Chelsea signs him up for like a record breaking deal ..... It would suddenly become : Hazard No offense to anyone here, was a thought that came up with all the hatred messages i read lately in this topic
-
Gave us the results that we wanted all season, right! "Motivate the team" is what was needed which very less managers have been able to do at Chelsea.
-
No it is not a joke, mate. Honestly he is not the kind of coach that we should be looking for, from what i know or seen he tend to rely on establishment names and not develop one. very defensive minded (which is not the direction that Roman wants us to go) havent really seen him have a plan B and no people management As far his last job goes, he has really been bad for England (stats doesnt speak the truth in this case) Whereas RDM is someone whom the players know of, Chelsea legend, good people manager plus has given us the results which we had been craving for. Hence i wouldnt replace RDM with Capello atleast. We need someone to carry the club forward and not bring it on a stand still. This is my personal opinion, feel free to correct me.
-
Why Capello, of all the people? RDM would be a better choice any day over him.
-
Really dont understand this guy, he is paid the best in the business, Have been crowned champions and would be in power for few years to come, why the f*** does he want to move out. No one is going to pay him as much as City is paying plus the bonus of competing in major competition.
