120m is crazy money for 19 yrs old ...
-
... And somewhere down the road, Arsenal put in a 40m bid for Zaha. 40m!!! Love whatever they're having up there ... and sure they have an Indian or a Chinese on board for negotiating

Thats the way we roll at the Bridge

Hazard is coming back to Chelsea after 4 seasons

Good one, guys ... some really good perspective in the past posters specially from Vybz Kartel, Superblue_1986, Jason... worth reading & understanding different views ...

So that 603 Euros gave us 1 Premier League, 1 FA Cup and 1 Europa League ... and 2 Managers ... I believe we are short by a title. Looks like we overspend

I do understand the school of thought on what you mentioned ... I would not completely agree but I wouldnt say that you wrong with your thoughts on the whole ex-players thing. But i have a different angle to it, for me there is no right or wrong just a approach which could fail or succeed ... I have always stated that Lampard (or any of the ex players under Roman's regime) coming in will only hand one advantage over anyone else which is,that he would have direct access to the owner which most of the previous manager didnt have ... other than that he be like any other manager with very less experience. I do rate this advantage pretty high based on our situation with managers which is unique within PL unlike any other team. I also feel that the club is now trying to take a different approach by pulling people from the ranks and putting them into management (something which should had been done for our youths) ... Getting all these ex players and giving them such prestigious opportunity with a club like Chelsea is a huge risk and going by history they are most likely to fail but then the question also arise with the transfer ban & our best player gone & a depleted squad & a big layer between manager and the management which world class manager would take up the role. So taking a new approach could change the thinking of the club and if it doesnt, we always have the money comes to our recuse. I dont think it is an issue with younger fanbase ... it is more to do with the time that we live in where the sports have become business ruled by the men in black and success at the top is only measured by wins. So we might fail with the current approach but it is a risky take on our situation and I would want to ride with it.

Pete Cech signing into the management seems like the second innings of the Roman regime in the true sense. We have Lampard possibly coming back, Makalele and Drogba back ... The old gang is coming back (atleast some of them), more importantly these guys were drilled to be winners and they are leaders in their own rights. It's interesting time in a challenging environment ... I hope we move in the right direction with the boys.

I feel there will be a role reversal with Kante in case Jorginho starts ... from the analysis it's obvious that defense has to be strong so putting Jorginho in front of the defender would be out of question. Jorginho will need to play more advance role which means getting more into the box which is not his thing I feel. Maybe it will be Jorginho's turn to adapt to a new role if he wants to be part of the 11.

This love story between Willian and Barca is just baffling ... What is it that Barca seems in him that we dont is confusing ... not as if he has being performing decent here (forget brilliant) ... And then there is the other mystery piece why the f*** are we not selling him with reported bids from 60m to now 30m ... I'm sure he has something on Mariana and Roman - thats the best I could come up with. And then I come to a conclusion that ... Maybe his agent is just over fascinated by Barca
-
I dont agree on that. Given a choice the 2, would select Pedro over Willian. Would rather have a youth from the ranks than anyone of the 2 in the starting 11 even when there is transfer ban.
-
He should have 2 seasons back ... I dont mind if he goes because for me he just makes up the numbers ... if I have to get frustrated I would rather see a youth from the ranks trying than Willian doing what he does.

Thanks for the services, Sarri ... specially the Europa Cup. I hope Sarri takes the learning from his year at the Bridge and evolves rather than being rigid if he wants to keep winning titles at the highest level. On a side note, this year has indeed been very eventful ... Hazard leaving, change in mentality (more offensive), Roman missing from the Bridge and last but not the least we are selling & not sacking a Manager ... yupieeee ... thats History under Roman's regime
-
Probably ... But eventually Lampard will be given the same treatment if he doesnt use his common sense and does the simple thing right for starters U bet!!!
-
Thats why Sarri got the stick and I'm sure if tomm a new manager (who ever it is) does the same will get the stick unless we have a "Ty" amongst us.
-
Sarri made it difficult for himself ... During the early part when teams didnt understand him Sarri managed to get wins but once his strategy was found out ... it is then he didnt have a plan B. The reason Sarri is getting the stick is because he kept trying the same thing over and over again expecting positive results. There are total of only 2 games after Nov (once the opposition read him) i.e. the City and the final of the Europa where we looked like a team other wise we were poor & it boils down to the manager. I also believe he could have had more players but he didnt request for more ... we got Jorginho & Higaiun who are clearly his signing, We only came 3rd not on our merit but on others failure ... ideally we would have finished outside the top 4 and would have made it in the CL only by virtue of Europa for which we were favs. So even if he goes (which i dont like abt managers) I dont think we would have missed much.
-
Another one gone ... All the best, Ola ...
-
All the best, Hazard ... Thanks for the memories, u surely will be remembered not only for your contribution at the club but for the next few years till someone fills in the void Truly a world class player!!!
-
My assessment would be that he wasnt brilliant he was decent who surely improved towards the end... there were many times where his decision making was way off but first season I'm hoping he take the route that De Gea took post his first season at United where his technique was not exactly a GK is coached for ... But fingers crossed. On De Gea, he did change that post his first season ... his eye - feet co-ordination was brilliant and he changed that to eye - hand one after 2 season at United. I can imagine his feet tied and the coach asking him to use the hands ... very basic level but very effective.
-
I guess we will need to wait until our Manager situation is sorted as well... Since there is nothing happening on the Ban front, Ban is pretty much in play. If Sarri stays then we pretty much have the regular lineup but if he goes then all depends who come in which change the formation and could be the difference in selection eg AC over Luiz
-
hahahahahaha ... I apologize!!! My bad.
-
Who else do we have currently as LB?
-
If Lampard or any manager picks someone it will be based on what he see in a player in training and the analysis of the player in his system... If that player doesnt deliver and if the manager keeps going with him, he will surely be criticized which was exactly the case with Sarri. Alonso was appreciated when he moved as a LWB under Conte but once he was put in the back 4 system he failed. Sarri's mistake was that he kept playing him over and over despite Alonso's mistakes expecting different results... thats when u have to criticize the manager. If Lampard or anyone else does the same thing, he would be beaten up just like Sarri. I m glad i was able to make you laugh, it is a tough skill to have these days. And thanks for taking the pain to go back to my post, appreciate it!!!
-
Alonso is not the right LB for us or for anyone ... Period!!! Will always maintain it whether Sarri picks or Lampard. The problem with the next manager is that we only have 2 LBs to chose from ... Emerson or Alonso so who ever shows more determination will be picked it is as simple as that. There is no different tune here, these are the only notes we have access to.
