  1. Atleast I have an opinion which is what the forum is about. No matter how ridiculous. But thanks for that respect. Appreciate it!!!
  2. I doubt the 200m on those ... I dont think we have better players (Kante is WC) ... we need players with high work rate in the middle specially under Lampard, strong box to box types to compliment Kante. I believe they have a lot going for them plus they are young and playing in the top flight. I wasnt referring to other positions where we need reinforcements ... was talking only midfield and we need good players (even squad players) to support Lampard's philosophy
  3. Maddison and Nevas next summer ... Midfield sorted for few years with Kante, Mount and RLC ...
  4. I thought it was a great game, brilliant on how we approached and played it out ... Loved the way we played specially the first half, ultra pressing and Liverpool's plans went off. Obviously Liverpool altered their plan and went wide which slowed us (something to thing about). The result is surely disappointing but the difference from Sunday to Wednesday was very encouraging to how we gauge the manager. One thing is now certain that Frank's strategy is to press hard and focus is on what we do when we dont have the ball. It is going to demand high work rates from pretty much everyone, this was evident when Kante started and it made such a huge difference. However this is also going to be our Achilles heel this season because we dont have loads of players specially in the middle with high work rates atleast for now. The other real positive I thought was we could unlock Pedro for the first time, Frank's game suits his style (might have a Barca feel to it). Pulisic looked good and the strike which was ruled off side was superb. I know early days but I feel top 6 could be a sure thing this season ... Excited for the next game and we keep improving it is going to be hell of a ride:) P.S. That marking of Van Dijk by Kante on the corner should be how we approach our current season!!! Need to have balls to take on the big ones
  5. Would be honest, the 4-0 scoreline hurts specially when it happened in that 5-10 mins time frame. But first competitive game of the season, there are positives and there are lot of learnings. As someone pointed in the earlier post, we behaved like amateurs at time which contributed to the scoreline which is bang on. Defense is a worry, has been even in pre-season. Like to see how Lampard start addressing this. Only problem is that we play another game in the next 2 days against Liverpool and that could a similar scoreline. Liked the fact that Lampard was not worried to pitch youngsters in a big away game ... which tells that Lampard could be open to taking risk as per the situation. Fingers crossed for the next few games to see how we sort the defense.
  6. Honestly, I have never cared about how many have we won or they did or some one else did... because it is in the past and there is no point dwelling over it whereas Arsenal fans are still struck in that era when they were successful. They always try to use that as a measure of they being a big club but the fact is that today Chelsea is in the Forbes list on the top 10 clubs in the world. So technically like you said, baring United no one can say they bigger as the Citys, the Arsenals and the Chelseas are pretty much on the same footing.
  7. Well said!!! I feel even after the next 2 decades, they will just keep going back to how many they won once upon a time and they were the Invincibles ... Wouldnt have much to talk abt
  8. He has to leave. Period!!! Nothing likely about it ... Guess he is just lucky that we have a ban and are short in the wingers dept.
  9. Well it does provides us with entertainment when they lose ...
  10. After a long time (maybe actually the first time) I dont see we winning this game but I'm still eagerly looking forward to it. I hope at best we will draw thats is stretching by a miles. Curious to see who starts and how we shape up on Sunday will probably be the strategy and line up for the rest of the season. In true sense this will be a season of transition and new beginnings
  11. Just as expected Arsenal' Mr DT in all praise about Luiz. And the best part I like the reasons behind Luiz moving to Arsenal ... guess what *Drums roll* Arsenal are a bigger club than Chelsea, more trophies than Chelsea and that prompted David Luiz to move to Arsenal .... that is f**king hysterical. Going by his theory, I'm glad that Luiz at 32 suddenly developed brains.... or lost them ... we will never know
  12. Thank you, Luiz for the memories and also for moving out .... wished it would had been some other club than Arsenal but ... never mind. One request though, could you also take your buddy & partner Willian with you maybe in Jan ... that would be a good gesture for the drama you pulled off. Thank you again.
  13. Wow ... says Luiz wants Arsenal move, thats great loyalty!!! If that is the case then seriously ship him out, I dont want him but the situation demands that we need experience bodies. However if this is coming from him then please make some one else's life miserable. I can see the next 2 days on Arsenal TV, Luiz is a great world class player and Arsenal should sign him ... he will be a rock in the defense, etc, etc, etc.
  14. well it is already done ... plus I dont worry about the opposition, more focused on hoping that we are better than everyone ...
  15. Well ... It would be good to see good players coming into the league.
  16. Is Pepe that as good as he has been hyped about? You go to Arsenal TV and you get a feeling like they have landed a Messi !!! He had a good season in France last season with approx half of his goals coming in penalties but the PL is a different level to France. It just getting crazy with the amount of players that are being hyped these days. I hope Arsenal did get a player worth the money they spend!!!
  17. For this season, If Crystal Palace comes in for a loan deal for Recce & they dont sign a RB (Not sure if they have already) then it would make more sense for us to sent Recce out on loan. because here he will be backup to Azpi even if Zappacosta goes where as without Wan-Bissaka Palace could take a chance with Recce for the first 11. Then it all up to Recce and if he does well, then next season he could actually start over Azpi.
  18. Not a bad idea but I would have wanted one of the 2 to stay back and have the transition done for David Luiz ... not sure how many games would David Luiz play (I assume bulk of it since Rudiger is out for the start) but it would have been good if we could keep one back and try to integrate into the first team.
  19. This is going to be a tough one for Ampadu ... I hope for his sake and for ours he come out a winner and proves himself. I would have wanted him to play in the Championship where he could have got more games but you cant get anything better than going to a club who plays in the top league. A challenge for Ampadu.
  20. I think Championship would be an ideal place ... Less pressure and more opportunity (if he is really is good) as compared to the PL. Like u said, he needs more chances ... day in day out to be considered next season at the Bridge.
  21. I think it is the right call to send him on loan as he needs games ... With Kante, Kovasic, Mount (he will get games), Jorginho, Barkley, RLC we have the midfield covered (I feel) and Ampadu wouldnt get much games this season. Yes he is a better player than Drinkwater.Bakayoko
  22. You're being sad as if they would have joined us and we missed out that opportunity. We're still trying to provide something to our existing 18-19 yrs old imagine how it would work for someone who comes in with a 50m+ tag
  23. I m just buoyant with Frank coming in as a manager. Was anxious all this while, checking news site every hour for the news until it happened. I dont remember when was the last time I was so excited for a new manager. Before anyone judge me: I still maintain that Lampard is an inexperience manager who has been given a huge responsibility, he is a huge risk, he might not last a season or not and might be worst criticized manager we have in the Roman era. But all this aside, being a fan of Chelsea & club football since 2001-02 specially from the time Roman took over ... I feel Lampard is one of our own. Someone whom we admired & loved all these years, cursed/critized when the going was bad, lived the good and the bad moments on the field. And now that he is back in the capacity of a manager (or the modern day term of Head coach) which by the way lot of us thought he or Terry would ... it just putting a spring under our feet despite knowing that there is maybe a 5% chance of him being successful. I havent followed his gameplan much to form an opinion but I'm looking forward to whatever he is getting in. It would be personal for him too because he is coming back to club which has made him what he is, this is his second innings here. I'm sure he has more in stakes compared to anyone else. Yes he mite be the best option in the current scenario (with transfer ban and no top manager willing to come over) but I also like the way the board is taking a chance by getting ex-players back into management (on field & off field). Risks all around. Strategy wise the only positive about Lampard would be that he would have a direct line to Roman which his predecessors didnt, otherwise it is an emotional decision .... but hey!!! lets give emotions a chance!!! Its gonna be one hell of a season!!!
  24. Finally it is done ... Welcome back, Lampard ... Wish you all the best!!! The easy part is done ... now comes the tough part
