Does anyone have the goal? Happy for the kid. I did not rate him based on his pre season, but I did not watch him in his last youth season to give a fair judgement on him.

Why can't some people just give a player credit?
I have been hypercritical of Cahill this season, but he shone yesterday. He stopped a certain goal with that block on Falcao's shot, made at least a half-dozen excellent clearances and didn't lose a single header. A good, solid performance.

Looks like he has travelled with the first team to Derby.

The thing is how can people still defend him AFTER 3 YEARS. Seriously, he still hasn't fixed his flaws yet. His main problem when he came here was that he often had a rush of blood and was just terrible at defending, after 3 YEARS it is still the same, hardly any improvement at all. People can say look at the goals he scored but again he already had that and done that for us when he arrived here, and his job isn't to score goals anyway.
Do you think he has show enough IMPROVEMENT AFTER 3 YEARS to warrant such praise?

GC could have done better for the 1st goal but so could have so many other players.
and that is not the main point. azpilicueta had a horrendous match. he literally got owned by walters (walters for fuck sake). but no one, NOT A SINGLE PERSON has even made post/comment/quote on his thread.
and now look at GC's thread, he is the new scape-goat, specially for all the luiz-fans and that troll henrique, who inspite of what might happen on the match find a way to blame GC.
and that is what bothers me. GC had a bad match but he was as bad as JT/iva and better than azpi. if u want to pin-point mistakes and single out one fellow for the defeat and 3 goals that we have conceded, then do it at the team, not just GC.

He had a bad game, but so did 12 others. The only person beyond criticism and chastisement today is Schurrle. Everyone else deserves all they get in terms of the criticism coming their way - but to solely blame Cahill and/or Cech is a lazy excuse. The whole team - after a brilliant first 40 minutes - were awful from the moment Stoke equalised.

I don't fucking care what they say about Luiz and what they say for Cahill. All I care about is how they perform for Chelsea. And it is crystal clear that Cahill is in better form this season so he should play. End of.

let me bring it down to the level that an idiot would understand.
everton match - luiz's hopeless defensive error changes the whole complexion of a match that we were so fully dominating and controlling. after that everton parked the bus and we found it very-very difficult to break them
cardiff match - luiz's childish display puts us in trouble once again. hence we were chasing the match again.
with GC-JT, the opposition dont get the charity that luiz gives. also with cahill-JT we have so far conceded 2 goals in 6 matches (hull, villa, united, fulham, schalke and city) and both the goals have been phenomenol strikes by the striker. the benteke shot was absolutely brilliant and aguero's too even though cech should have stopped the latter one. this makes us more difficult to play against cos teams need a moment of magic to score rather than getting goals in free-fund.

And therein lies the dividing line - people who pay their money and turn up week in and week out want to see players giving 100% every single time. In fact most supporters I know want that.
I'd take a player giving their all and making the occasional mistake over a player who has lapses in concentration/can't be fucking bothered every time. He's fucking lucky to be wearing the Chelsea shirt and if he doesn't realise that and doesn't bother against small teams like Cardiff, then he can leave. He won't be missed.
