  1. Costa would've choked him out by now
  2. Yeah that was funny. And you know Costa doesn't mean anything by it, he's just intense and desperate to score which is great. Willian really should have passed though.
  3. Before my time but I've heard and read so many good things about him. RIP.
  4. I'm just glad we haven't seen the monstrosity that is the 3rd just yet.
  5. Wow. Just wow. Oh, and a special mention for Willian who was brilliant tonight.
  6. Was it even 2 minutes? And then Chelsea TV released a 10 minute video about Baker making his debut sure, it's a nice moment for him and his family, but at least wait until he completes 10 passes for the senior side before patting yourselves on the back.
  7. It hurts to see the same thing happening over and over again. Sometimes I think the club is guilty of giving them too much press and/or false hope. Look at all the press Baker got in the summer - all the hoopla the club made about his new deal and the press release about him being a squad member - and yet he still hasn't kicked a ball this season. How soon before he completely falls of the map?
  8. Maybe Boga - like Hazard - needs 4-5 years of being a first team regular in a good league like France. Hazard is who he is now because of 5 seasons and nearly 200 games for Lille; he didn't get to this level with 20 minute cameos every other month. And let's be entirely honest with ourselves: Boga is not going to play any meaningful football for Chelsea any time soon - no matter what Jose says or how impressive he is at u21 level, it's just not going to happen. I've been thinking for a while now that perhaps the best thing we can do with some players is sell them with a buy-back clause. Imagine a 21/22-year-old Boga coming back from Ligue 1 or maybe even Spain having played 150+ games. It's an entirely different prospect to just wasting his time with pointless loans to random clubs every season and/or sitting on the bench and never featuring. Managing players between the ages of 18-22 is where the club loses the plot. The club builds them up until they're 18, they've outgrown the youth scene and then we don't know what to do with them until they just disappear by the time they're 21/22. It's happened to McEachran and it's going to happen to Chalobah and many others.
  9. The same CL he nearly lost for Madrid? Then there was his World Cup, the less said about that the better.
  10. How Casillas keeps making this lists is beyond me. He is a total fraud.
  11. That's what happened in the first half though. It was complete and utter domination and only their keeper kept the score from being 3 or 4 (Foster made great saves to deny both Terry and Oscar; Costa missed a great chance by a few inches). It was as dominant a performance as anything I've seen from Barca, Arsenal etc so it's not far-fetched on Fabregas' side to make such a statement, imo. I know it's only West Brom and the score wasn't reflective of how the game went but that first-half was pretty amazing. I haven't felt that relaxed watching a game in years.
  12. Comfortable win and no injuries. Played some good stuff in the first half. This was essentially the perfect game heading into an away fixture in the Champions League.
  13. I'm confident we could beat them today.
  14. But on the other hand he would be much easier to negotiate with. Robben was considered injury prone at one point but look at him now. Is Reus injury prone or is he just unlucky? Looking at the numbers, he has played 43 (13/14) games and 47 (12/13) in the last two seasons. And having seen the challenge yesterday that was just bad luck. The opposition player was so reckless. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_c3Bgf1-dw Nobody is coming out of that unscathed.
  15. http://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/worst-milan-team-generation-and-fernando-torres-cant-get-it Didn't take long for outsiders to realise what we've known for 4 years.
  16. I don't know what it is, man, I just can't watch people embarrassing themselves. The guy who wears all the Arsenal gear, who drinks out of a damn Arsenal water bottle and even wears the club headphones is like the most tragic person in the world to me. He's a grown man ffs.
  17. Cech has lived in London for 10 years; his family is settled, his children are in school etc etc. After all he's done he deserves the right to stay in London if he wants. It'd be a shame to see him at Arsenal but I wouldn't think less of him or question his status at Chelsea. Some of you guys really need to grow up.
  18. This is embarrassing enough A weekly video of Chelsea fans embarrassing themselves would be all kinds of
  19. These fan interviews after games is embarrassing. I'm glad we don't have one but I'm sure it's coming
  20. Building the team around any one player (however good they are) is a recipe for disaster.* We need players who can operate within an overall team game and that can carry their own weight playing both sides of the game (defensively and in attack). If a player needs special treatment from the manager / team and requires too many adjustments to be made for him then he's more of a hindrance than a bonus. Team > individual *For example, the idea that the team is or should be built around Fabregas - a guy who can be easily nullified by a Fellaini - doesn't sit well with me.
  21. Honestly, perhaps I'm too harsh on Bale. And I'm a card-carrying Hazard fanboy so it is what it is. Bale is clearly a good player, but I'm just not a fan personally.
  22. Preach. And Hazard scored 17 last season and 22 (?) for Lille in his final year. Those are very respectable numbers. 20-25 a season would be amazing - especially considering all the other things he does - and he's not that far off.
  23. Passing ability, both short and long; control and technique in limited space; ability to advance the ball when space is at a premium and his link play is average at best. Ability to recieve the ball with the back to goal and make things happen is something I've never seen Bale do ever.
