I'm not a huge fan of this based (solely based on Youtube videos ). Stylistically he's not the LB I envisioned to help make us a better team going forward: not particularly quick and a very gangly style. But it is what it is; good luck to him and I hope he proves me wrong. I've heard he can play LCB as part of a 3 man defence so maybe that's what Conte wants to do.

This is exactly my feeling. It's just so random and bizarre I'm struggling to make sense of it let alone. One thing I will say is that Chelsea is pure showbiz, no other club does this better haha.

Why not? You can tell a lot from some of clips. I've read in this thread he would be a good player for Hazard to link up with and I can see absolutely zero proof of that from the video.

You watch the video? It screams of a player that think he's better on the ball than he actually is. He seems to get himself into a lot of trouble.

Is he really? You need to have actually played well to get that tag; it's not enough to just have played in the league.

His mistakes on the ball become way more apparent when he tries to do too much. He needs to really embrace the less is more approach; get it and recycle it and make a run. When he tries to dribble and beat players he looks so clumsy.

So much better on the ball than I anticipated. Great to see Hazard shooting on sight - I like the intricate Hazard a lot but he's the only player in our team that can consistently create shooting opportunities for himself so he should average more shots a game. If he keeps this up then he could have his best goalscoring season. Hard to take much from today's game because Burnley were that bad but a win is a win and we finally kept a clean sheet. Now we can retool with 2-3 more players and come back ready to keep the momentum going.

I've just read that he has had two bad knee injuries. Is it to the same knee or both? I remember Azpi suffered a long-term knee injury before coming here so it's not the end of the world, but two is a different story imo.

If Conte wanted to give him games and help him improve as a player then Baba would still be here. But instead he was loaned out and here we are looking for loan deals for players no better than what we already had.

So why couldn't he do that with Baba?

If he played as badly as he did against Watford then very likely yes.

And even after one successful year it was clear the individual would never play him anyway. So a settled 2 year loan was a great option at the time. Yeah we're struggling this year but ultimately it will prove to be a blessing in disguise.

The Papy slander needs to stop. He was never given a chance here. We have no idea if he's a bad player or not, but his name has now become synonymous with the worst of the worst which is a joke. I can guarandamntee you he's not worse than Cahill.

Honestly, I don't even mind about the yellow cards etc he's a very fiery character which is a huge part of his game so it is what it is. But when our own strikers kills more moves than the opposition defence you can't help but be frustrated.
