  1. Matic , cork and mancienne couldn't have done better than McEacheran , but they won't be used and i can understand why carlo doesn't want to take the risk but sometimes you have to . what we need now simply is 2 or 3 players in their mid 20s to increase the depth and quality of our squad , and in the future they will be a great aid and support for the likes of kakuta and McEacheran during their development because within two years may be kakuta and sturridge will get their chances but there will be no Drogba or anelka to help them on the field , may be McEacheran but won't be so effective without a lampard . we have all witnessed the improvement of ramires in the last two games and i think lamps played a big part in that being always available for the pass and mastering the midfield. that role will hopefully be hamsik's or shweinstiger's in the future untill they pass the torch to Mceacheran and Clifford .
  2. Although we did score three against villa, the real reason we are in the situation we are in today is because of the lack of goals up front. Last season we set records with the number of goals we scored, the number of times we scored 7 goals in a game, the cute interplay between our midfield and front three and Ashley Cole scoring for fun. So what has changed this season? Did losing the players we let go in the summer make any difference? Lets look at the summer clean out one by one. 1. Deco - Was much maligned throughout last season with most of us asking for him to be offloaded like we are saying now bout Anelka and Ferreira now. I personally would have been disappointed had he stayed on. 2. Ballack - While solid and mostly consistent, was also somebody we had to let go as from the reports he did not want to take a pay cut to stay on. He's 34 and to expect anything more from him than what he did for us last season would be asking too much. We got what we could from him in the four years he played for us and it was time to move on. 3. Miroslav Stoch - We could not guarantee him starts and he wanted to leave, so we let him. Would he have been handy today had he stuck around? Yes. Would we have played him regularly in games? No. Why? For the same reasons that Kakuta and Sturridge haven't been getting enough chances! 4. Joe Cole - A player who wanted an improved contract. Given his injury record over the past 2-3 seasons and him not exactly setting the stage on fire since his comeback from his injury, would have been a huge gamble to give him an improved contract. Maybe he would have done wonders for us this season or maybe he would have played like he is playing for Liverpool now. Had to let him go, as it could have triggered another spree of players asking for improved contracts amidst our, current and ongoing, cost cutting outlook. 5. Juliano Belletti - A great squad player who knew his limitations. If we are blaming our lack of goals on his departure, then we're kidding ourselves. 6. Franco Di Santo and Scott Sinclair - Were never going to get a look in. they are not chelsea quality . We replaced Joe Cole with Benayoun and he got injured. We bought Ramires who is an all action midfielder who can also play on the right. A good buy in my opinion he is starting to come into his own, now that he is playing regularly. Were we wrong to assume that Essien could play the Ballack role and Ramires to become our new Essein? Don't think so. May be we missed a cue in replacing Deco with a creative midfielder, but we discovered Josh McEachran, who has a very bright future ahead of him. i think that letting those players go was absolutely the right thing to do but it has led us to the beginning of a new era in which we needed one of two options: 1- get some new players in their mid 20s and start building for the future. 2- believe in our youngsters and give em the chance to be squad players because they deserve to and i think they do . but the best option will be both , we could have bought players and given youngsters chances as well , look at barca , they have bought villa , adrianno , afelle while letting pedro , bojan and youngsters flourish it is not biophysics , and it can be done . theoretically what chelsea did was choosing option no.2 which is give the youngsters the chance but did they have a chance ?? does anyone believe that kakuta or sturridge stands a chance of starting a game if senior players are not injured but shit. practically we choose no option , we took a step forward but then we stood still , now time has come to take another step but what will that be ? or there won't be one ??
  3. well in the last couple of games he was superb , he brings needed energy and pace to our midfield and his passing has been a lot better bu he has to bulk up a little bit and he will be another bison ..... i think he will be a crowd favorite in 2012
  4. kostas , i thought you know better !!!!! essien >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> mikel @Dm and @CM , being not in top form and making an error doesn't make you worse . it's the same case of comparing kalou with Drogba , Drogba was shit yesterday while kalou was lively does that mean kalou is better ??!!!
  5. have patience and don't worry about getting worse,we have anelka , ferrera , kalou and Drogba is joining them to take care of that . it will be : LLLDLL this draw will be because anelka Drogba ferrera will all be out injured but kalou won't let us get away with the three points .
  6. Alexis Sanchez , would be a perfect signing . will not happen .
  7. the 23 years old is a tall , tough and pacy CB who can play as a side back as well , he is a great reader of the game and his positioning when on form is excellent , his ball distribution from the back is amazing . Has an instinct that means he is prepared to carry the ball forward out of defence, but it nearly cost the centre-back as he lost possession on many occasions, posing his side big problems. his other weakness will be sometimes lack of concentration , he sometimes can't be focused for the whole 90 min. also he may give away needless free kicks under pressure. but his problems seems to be due to lack of concentration more than being a weakness in him as a player .
  8. Damn you Man city !!!! ..... we can't afford to lose our goalscorer and clinical finisher . well if they want him , they are gonna have to pay for him .... and i think we should sell him now instead of losing him for free ... we can probably get at least 1.2 or 1.5 millions out of him .
  9. and how many times have we seen this partnership ??!! let's face it alex is an injury prone and john terry if keeps playing with injury and not getting rest will turn into another injury prone soon as well . without terry our defence seems to be below average because we depend on a wold class defender(terry) and a good defender(alex/Iva) we need another worldclass defender please so that we can get back to the habit of keeping clean sheets . although i agree with you that a creative spark should be our first priority and hopefully it will be a ight winger as this will have a double positive effect: 1- well , add creativity and spark missing from the right . 2-may be then we will get to stop watching kalou week in , week out .
  10. David luiz , A strong tough pacy defender with a lot of intelligence and who is very mibile and versatile . only 23 years old . he is expensive but i would rather spend 35 millions right now and get a world class defender for like 6 or 7 years and then sell him for 15-20 millions . instead of getting another average player esk.(kalou-zhirkov-benayoun-anelka-ferrera). the other option for me will be phil jones who seems to be a very hot pospect . and btw the question is Which centreback is best suited for Chelsea? so what we need isn't another alex , iva or even terry ... what we really need is a david luiz or a thiago silva
  11. Salamon Kalou ....... it's a no brainer !! he has one of the best goals per minute ratio !!!! ain't that enough for you guys!!! you should be more grateful to our messi . let's renew his contract till 2020 for 160,000 per week .
  12. we can get him if we are willing to pay and show some real interest but it's more disappointing to know that we are not even one of the teams linked with him .
  13. well , wouldn't that be a great time for someone from within the club to come out and say we trust in carlo and he will get the financial support he needs in january to make things better .
  14. luiz will leave for 25 - 30millions or less if luiz is a 40 millions player then how much is terry worth ? 80 ?? hamsik will cost us probably another 30 - 35 millions as he is not shweinstiger to cost 45 ehhh and Sanchez will probably cost around 15 millions so over all we might end up paying 70 - 80 millions but getting 3 future legends .
  15. a 22 years old right winger who is considered as the future of chili , he has lightening pace mixed with great trickery , his ball control and dribbling is near perfect , his passing game is very good although not excellent and he has one hell of a shot .... some people think he is the next C.Ronaldo but i hate ronaldo and i think this guy will be better because this guy has the passion that ronaldo misses . watch this : i know complications can be deceiving sometimes but he is actually that good. i have watched him in more than 10 games and i am sure he will be the next big thing , but most likely he will end up with united because they have been negotiating with udinese for 2 years now .
  16. we need David Luiz , Hamsik and alexis sanchez ..... those three will probably cost us around 70 million but they deserve every fuckin penny because they are a solution to our current problems and they are 23 , 23 , 22 and this is exactly the kind of players we should be looking for instead of buying either a 30 years old benayoun or a teenager .
  17. Missing zhirkov , no offence but this is getting ridiculous !!!! now we are missing zhirkov while we have the rest of the squad fit and ready !!!! when i come here and read those kind of posts i know how pathetic we are right now . that no one so far is able to find out what is wrong ..??? attack or defense ??? coach or players ?? carlo or abrahimovic ?? well , it's none of that and all of that ..... none because none is the major problem but all because when you put it all together you have too many problems and not any line or department that is strong enough to back up and help with others problems
  18. words i have been trying to say long time ago but wasn't able to put it together the way you did
  19. appointing a new manager now will just be stupid ..... but the return of a former great one is what we need (Hiddinck or Mourinho)
  20. will fit in like a hand in a glove .... but seems very unlikely
  21. fuckin attacking midfielder or a winger is the player we need !! the defence was never the main problem but it was having possession and not knowing what to do next ...??!
  22. the type pf player that we need is a right side winger who can play like ronaldo , nani , ribery , robben or alexis sanchez ...!!! not a central winger !!! a winger should play on the wing else-wise he would just be another anelka . looking for a central winger or a midfield striker then anelka would be your man .
  23. this is exactly what we should do +1
