Why would man city pay that much for a guy who would probably only be in a rotation for them?

I think Sturridge/Lukaku are capable backup strikers, but I would not get mad at adding someone of Cavani's stature

Im worried that Roman will hire an interim manager for a year and await pursuing Pep next year after his year off. I dont like the idea of a lame duck manager all of next season. I honestly want Pep, but I would tell him either you become our manager for next season or no guarantees that the job will be there next year.

Agreed, he is signing Chelsea kits, wrote on his twitter he will be signing with Champions of Europe, every major media source has reported it...I dont know what else people want. I can understand a little hesitation on the Hulk front since he hasn't said anything but Hazard seems to be nothing to worry about.

With high price transfers of Hulk and Hazard, I can see us still involved here. Hopefully he goes to Madrid instead of Man U

Say Pep brings in a formation looking like this one and employs it at Chelsea Lets also say we sign Hulk+Hazard For us it could work Goaltender and 4 defenders are obvious, Busquets role could be played by Mikel. I think we would need to add someone like Modric to play Xavi spot. Mata would take Iniesta role, and then you would have Hazard-Torres-Hulk up front. Might not work as well as at Barca, but I think the guys we are bringing in or rumored to be adding (Hulk, Hazard, Modric, Fellaini) are all guys who could probably work in this system. Which again makes me wonder if Roman is getting these signings done early to convince Pep to come.

Im surprised the rumored Hulk numbers are bigger than Hazard's. I like Hulk, but I rate Hazard higher. But if we complete this, it looks like we will pay a higher transfer fee for Hulk. I guess FCP is better at getting more money for their players

I think they WANT Torres to score (scored tonight for Spain) and are hoping he is the guy, so instead of pissing him off and signing an expensive striker, they are hedging their bets by adding (potentially) a winger that has a scoring touch, so we can get goals from other positions if Torres struggles again.

I think our early adventures in the transfer market were to convince pep to come. We can run his system a lot better with hazard, hulk and modric (showing interest again according to reports)

If we get Pep to be our manager, could Luka Modric play the Xavi role in his tactics? The guys we are adding seem to be guys who could fit in Pep's system. Wonder if you we are trying to get these guys to further convince Pep to manage us.

Drogba leaving I was fine with when he was supposed to be going to China. But if he ends up at Barca or Madrid as some rumors are saying, I would be a lot less ok with it.
