Stunning summer indeed. I might just had Tiote if RDM isnt going to give Essien a real chance to get back to imself just a bit. I dont think Mikel is the right player for the 'Double Pivot' shit, Tiote is way more energetic which is perfect for our line up.

Its not realy worrying, if Studge is out, we'll have a new CF. Anyway i prefer that he'll stay and fight for Torres's place. I think both of them and Moses as a 3rd option are enough.

This game got me thinking that maybe we do need Cavani more than we need Hulk, as i thought the opposite. We had so much talent in the attacking midfield in the second half, with Sturidge and Oscar coming from the bench. And on the other hand, Torres didnt deliver the threat yet again. Just think about Cavani with all those players around him...damn. And my god it will be great with a proper DM... cant understand why RDM isnt trying Essien, its not like Mikel is that good that we'll lose so much for this single try.. Despite those notes, im pretty optimistic and even more excited, it seems this team could always score one more than the opponent. And that talent... i just want to see more!

Ash probably the best LB for a long time now. Essien was considered best defensive mid in the world for some time. Lampard was kind a "voted" the best midfielder in 2005 when finished 2nd in ballon d'or, and was at least in the top 3 in a couple of more seasons imo. Terry and Carvalho, i think there were times that you couldnt say there is a CB who is definitely better than them. And Maka off course...

Everyone who respond to me- name one team in EPL with better central midfield. Go on. (And by central midfield i mean- our Mikel, Lampard, Essien, Meireles.. City's Toure, Barry, Rodwell and De Jong... United with Carrick, Cleverly and Scholes. Not Silva, Nasri, Oscar and Kagawa. Its hilarious how people here are so sensitive about a "compliment" to Arsenal... lol And M'vila is much more then average.

Let me explain myself- i meant Central Midfield. If they sign Sahin and M'vila, they will have the best central midfield. Second best will be City's imo.

I dont know if Real are better than us or not, but the fact is they didnt prove they are that good like they say they are. How many big big games they had in the last 3 seasons? a lot against Barcelona (and they won like 4 from 15 games or somthing like that..), two agains Bayren last season and they were pure 2nd best even in their win at the Bernabeo, and apart from that they played Spurs (2010) and not a very good side of AC Milan. Thats where youre wrong. Did Mourinho said he want Modric to play with Alonso in the double pivot? he didnt, I think, and almost everyone of Real's fans (that i read) thinks Mourinho want Modric to get more options in the team. To play with a midfield of 3 (Alonso, Modric and Khdeira) against teams like Barca. You can be sure that they wont play with Alonso-Modric against decent teams. He wont change it from Alonso-Khdeira to Alonso-Modric just like that, his team scored like 200 goals last season... he dont want Modric for more goals, he wants him for more position. You'll see the partnership of Alonso-Modric against weak oppositions.

You know what fascinates me? how almost everyone (example is BlueLyon from the post above) in this fourm decided that the best pair for this double pivot would include a player like Moutinho or Modric, a 'Deep lying Midfeilder' like you like to explain, and you just dont bothered with some facts: 1. Moutinho NEVER played in this position, and for his entire career he played in a 3 men midfield when he's the one who playes upfront (like Lamps along the years). 2. Modric did play in spurs in this position, but do we realy want to be as exposed defensevly as spurs are? not for our level. 3. How is it that every manager of the best teams in the world, who use this 4-2-3-1 formation, disagree with you? look at that: Bayren playes with Gustavo (with Martinez next season) and Schweinsteiger. Schweinsteiger is not a CDM, but he's way more of a defensev type of player than Modric. Real Madrid are playing in the same system- Khdeira and Alonso who is very similar to Schweini, even more defensev. City are playing with Yaya and Barry, and Mancini wanted De Rossi this summer. Do you see what they are all doing? when you play 4-2-3-1 you firstly need strong midfield. The fact that there arent many good options like De Rossi, Alonso, Schweini in the market, doesnt mean its right to go for someone like Modric. If we are realy in for a midfielder, its need to be somone like Axel Witzel.

Why we need a striker (i mean a big named one)? i agree with those who prefer a striker over Modric, but we dont NEED a striker when we have Torres and Sturridge. We need a striker only if there is an agreement in the club that Torres is not the one to lead us. Torres and Cavani probably wont work for Torres. Its a risk.

Hazard also played 4-3-3 at Lile. And C.Ronaldo is playing LW in Real's 4-2-3-1, and he's very similar to Hulk. Hulk and Hazard will need to contribute more defensivly but its definitely not strange to assume they could do this.
