Way above expectations. Proud of the lads. If only the ref blew his whistle when Suarez dived...

Napoli don't give a shit about Europa League. It was self-sabotage and they did it consciously. The team is all in for the Seria A title this season, it's the club's best opportunity since Maradona. If they blow it, it will probably take them at least another decade to build a new team that can challenge for the Scudeto. Most of the current players are either old, either will want to leave the club at the end of the season and they do not have the financial power to go after world class replacements. They will have to re-build.

How times have changed since we last played them at the Bridge. Except for Cahill, all of these guys are gone. I get the chills seeing Cech, Terry, Lampard, Cole and Drogs. Maybe that team wasn't better than the current one, in terms of quality, but its spirit and personality was levels above.

Even in the "Mourinho season" I had hopes about making it big in the UCL. Now, I just cannot feel it at all. There's no confidence around the team. We are mid-February and still have no clear starting 11, specially because of the injuries. Barca, on the other hand, are having their best season in years. Can't beat them with their rejects. 0-3 is my prediction.

And what was Conte supposed to do? Bench Costa, one of the best strikers in the world because Batshuayi scored against Brendford in the FA Cup? Or bench Morata, who's clearly a more useful player than Michy and has been consistent in his game ever since his debut? Batshuayi's problem is that he was not good enough to be the main striker. You cannot score sitters against Bristol and then expect to be in the first 11 the week after. He needs to become consistent, strong and to get shit done when no one else can. He had his chances to do that, but he never did. Even when he scored (like the brace against Newcastle), his display was poor, no involvement whatsoever, no strength. Maybe he's never going to make it here, maybe we're not a good fit for him. Who knows? But blaming Conte for not playing Bats over Costa or Morata is naive in my opinion. No manager in the world would've done that.

"This is the first time I’ve seen such an exuberant, overt, positive appreciation that includes [a player’s] religion,” FARE Executive Director Piara Powar said A lot of people (media outlets and artists included) are praising the chant, while we're claiming that it proves Liverpool fans don't deserve Salah. Lol.

Injuries again... What the hell is happening? That was our strongest point last aseason: we barely had any injury. Now there's not a week to go by without having someone with physical issues. What's the staff doing?

He's a good fit for them. He wasn't a good fit for us. Being Chelsea's striker involves a lot more than scoring goals. You cannot score forever in order to compensate the lack of power, ball control and personality that he showed here. I am confident that this loan will make him better. It was not a mistake at all. It was the best thing that could be done.

I think PSG's problem is the manager. When you keep Thiago Silva on the bench on an occasion like this, there's clearly something wrong.
-
Spurs just managed to get a somehow lucky draw at Juve. Imagine if Higuain made it 3-1 before the break. They are not through yet. I find it really silly how people are launghing at Allegri. The man's doing a fantastic.
-
He's so bloody good. There are moments when I feel that he just doesn't fit here.
-
The only thing that I regret is that there was no buy-back clause. If he stayed with us from the beginning, he would've never turned into the player that he is today.

Just finished listening to Monday's Football Weekly and during the discussion there, the panel came up with the point that Conte's training methods are too harsh for the players. I understand that us, as fans, want those guys to work hard specially since they win a lot of money. But still, let's keep in mind that they are not robots. Phyisical exhaustion can lead to mental breakdowns. This really might be a cause of what's happening this season. Last season, we didn't have to deal with such a congested schedule, therefore the results were better, the player's energy was at higher levels and we had almost no injuries to deal with! It might be the case that Conte didn't adapt his methods to this season's reality. We can't know for sure, but it kind of looks like it. I still think that the issue at Chelsea is the lack of good communication between the players, the board and the manager. Not everyone seems to be on the same page and all of these guys seem to have huge egos.
-
@Tomo - he came here with a philosophy and asked for players that could fit it. Of course he had a say in the positions that needed to be covered, but he didn't get the names that he wanted. He wanted Sandro, but got Alonso & Palmeri. He wanted Koulibaly, but got Luiz. He wanted Dzeko, but got Giroud. In most of the situations, the positions he needed cover for got covered, but not by the names that he wanted. I think that's the issue.

I wouldn't be so hard on Enrique. I think labeling managers as good or average during these days is useless. For me, there are good fits and bad fits. I think Zidane, for example, cannot even be compared with the likes of Guardiola, Mourinho or even Wenger in terms of managerial skills, but he's been a good fit for Real. He provided exactly what that bunch of players needed. He gave them confidence and freedom. He fit the squad's personality and that got them two Champions League trophies. I am not exactly sure what kind of manager can be a good fit for Chelsea, but it seems that the hard working ones tend to fail after a while. Maybe Enrique, even if he doesn't seem to be as qualified as Guardiola, let's say, will turn out to have the qualities that this club and squad need at this point. I am skeptical too, but it might be the case.
-
Maybe they want to replace Suarez with Griezmann, but I don't think we'll ever pay what they're asking and what the player will be asking.
-
Barcelona would never sell an essential player to us, unless we're ready to pay some PSG money. Not going to happen.
-
He's a good keeper, but he's not that important in the squad. Is he really worth the drama? I can't remember too many occasions when he saved us like, let's say, De Gea does on a regular basis for United. If he wants to leave, let him leave. Get the money and go find an Ederson of our own.
-
There were a few moments in the second half when I felt like he's too good for this team. Objectively speaking, he might be wasting a lot of potential playing for us.
-
Well, there was basically no reaction from what I saw.
-
Couldn't agree more, but that's a very difficult thing to do. It would involve a complete change of mentality and even getting rid of a lot of players, specially from the "old guard". Between this and sacking the manager, it's quite obvious what the board will go for...
-
I don't know if sacking him would be the right thing to do now, but something definitely needs to happen. The club has to do or at least say something. It's not even about the current results, but about the perspective. The tension is clear, everyone can feel it. Clear the air or change the manager.
-
Exactly. It's not like we're Brighton or Huddersfield. This squad is still the third best in the league, in terms of quality. At least in my opinion. We still spent a lot of money on transfers, we still have the best academy in the UK and we still play like shit. Can't blame it all on the board.

What about Marco Silva?
