You're not. But it's funny seeing Liverpool fans go into collective hysteria.

LMAO, de Rossi is old? At 29? Makelele joined us when he was 30. Didn't do too bad. Zola? 30 as well. Decent player, wasn't he? Age is just a number as long as you have the quality. And de Rossi is quality. Sign him up.

Some total lad in Brazil named his son after Lampard :

"Were [sic] the most loving and supportive fans towards are [sic] players and always defend them, but if you leave god help you." LOL.

Good deal for everyone concerned. KdB doesn't have to worry about only being a rotational option here, he gets to play in Brazil next year. Schurrle obviously differs from our current wing options and hence will find himself playing plenty of times. For us we have another exciting young talent who's already a full international. £20m seems a little steep but that's the market these days for these kinds of players.

So while the tedious silly season is setting in and Mourinho aside there's little else to talk about, why not look back at the year just past? You can keep this Chelsea specific or Premier League specific or throw in your verdict on as many clubs or leagues as you watch. Should make for some interesting reading. Player of the season : Young player of the season : Best transfer of the season : Worst transfer of the season : Best managerial appointment of the season : Worst managerial appointment of the season : Goal of the season : Overachieving team of the season : Underachieving club of the season : Best match of the season : Best moment of the season : Complaint of the season : Comment on as many or as few as you like; hell, add your own categories if you want.

Cheap shot at Monaco and Falcao in the thread title there

The most important match that got us Champions League football
Madmax replied to Tomo's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
I'd go with the win at OT. We didn't really need to win there but the fact that we did allowed us some margin for error against Spurs in the next game. -
I genuinely wouldn't mind in the slightest if we begin next season with Courtois in goal. I love Cech, he is a legend but good teams don't hesitate bringing someone in when that someone has obvious world class potential. Thibaut is that man.

It's an FFP consequence. Young players cost less in transfers and wages, they come under little pressure to succeed and the club has the bonus of selling them on at a decent price even if they don't become starters. If they do, you obviously hit the jackpot anyway. Regarding buying youngsters instead of using ones from our academy, 2 things - in a historical sense our academy hasn't produced Chelsea calibre youngsters till the last couple of years and secondly, if they're good enough, they will get in. What I agree we can improve upon is that even if someone like Todd Kane isn't good enough to be a regular starter, he's a better rotational option than Ferreira, who pockets immense wages without providing a massive upgrade in his (rare) opportunities. Competition is never bad, it brings out the best or worst (Stoch) in players, which is useful to know if you want to keep them around.

How 'bout Torres? I hear Benitez says he provides services like being great in training and clearing corners. Plus, he sells lots of shirts in America.
-
I before E, except after C Wasn't there talk of Luiz being seen as the next captain? Now all of a sudden Mourinho is okay with selling him. The press don't know shit about this one.
-
Like I said, it's ups and downs and I appreciate that. Just not quite Chelsea starter quality yet but will undoubtedly be there one day, in 2 years perhaps.
-
Yeah, I meant that in a positive sense haha. He has had an extraordinary success rate with our transfer deals so more power to him!
-
I don't know who you've assumed me to be but I'm not stupid enough to be saying this after watching half an hour of this game He hasn't been at the level he's showed previously and it's been a while at that. I'm not blaming him; I understand it's part of his development.

15 mn. And to think, some here wanted Chalobah to be a starter for us next season. Obviously he is talented and he will make it here (imo), but we do no favours to these young players with the hype we generate around them.

Emenalo's prints all over this one.

Made the provisional 26 man squad for Spain's Confederations Cup campaign, funny enough. Real dearth of forward players if you look at their list - Mata, Torres, Pedro, Villa, Navas, Soldado.
