He gave some great performances but always had a fragile side to him that was never far from the surface. His supersub performance in the European cup final last year went a huge way towards our victory and so he should always have some love. But very sour how it ended,i’m thinking after Vinicious embarressed him he was scared of another big game meltdown that might scupper his Barcelona move. As a side note when Thiago went down early and Sarr was warming up i was about to walk home..but least Sarr has heart even if he’s totally out of his depth in upper level english football.
-
Luton away was the final straw..just pouring vinegar in the wound every time i see him now. Colwill can’t come back fast enough!
-
Sarr gotta be the worst defender we’ve had this century .When him and Lukaku start we are essentially starting games with 9 players, one of which was AC.we need to upgrade the squad anyway and if we lose Rudi then it needs to be alot more.brings the whole team down a few levels without him.

Roman saw what was coming, remember he was being targetted long before Putin sent in others to die for what he wants. i’m more pissed off with how he and us are being targetted than the fact Roman is no longer going to be our owner. Although eternally grateful to Roman, there’s some aspects of his ownership that has shot us in the foot many times.we’ve won more than anyone would have expected.in my childhood the limit of my Chelsea dreams was maybe one day i’d see us win one FA cup.we’ve had some truly great coaches that should have had more time and with having Tuchel who really is someone i want long term, not having the over impulsive Roman as his boss now is in some ways a relief.Roman leaving does leave a bitter taste the way it’s happening but in the long run it could be a blessing in disguise. we probably best getting an American billionaire to be our new owner..Saudi owners too risky now..Candy seems like someone whose heart is in the right place but doesnt appear to have enough money to keep us competitive on the top table. Liverpool and Arsenal have American owners that give their managers time and whilst not Roman’s level of financial backing, enough to get the job done.

Probably not but is 10 years younger.and whilst it's clear that Tuchel sees him as his heir apparent as he can cover RB and RCB.Dave is a fighter and looks far from ready to give up his spot for at least another, maybe 2 years. It's a shame Livramento didn't hang around as would have been ideal to have in the squad now as depth for RWB,and James could cover for RCB along with Trev. Kounde was always not really that important for now even though I hoped he would join us.

Quality signing ,best possible deal.
-
Not backing him would be not trying to sign anyone he wants, not wanting to commit to a player beyond this season is another matter. Next year then can have Conor and Billy back, may want to go for Rice or Bellingham then. Good to keep options open.
-
I don't think it's a case of not trusting Tuchel's judgement atall.more a case of a combination of other factors.1) we have Conor and Billy waiting in the wings.2) I don't see Saul being a flop but may be just so so we as has been evidenced many times in the Roman era,we buy players at either fair or inflated prices, when we want to offload some ,those clubs want to take the piss with loans or bargain guys or worse we just get stuck with them being in our books. the reported 34m ain't a bad price but see what salary he would then have. I think one of Kovacic,Jorginho or Saul would leave next summer ,if we aren't tied to Saul then that decision is easier.
-
Wonder why Tuchel never seems to be linked with any of his former players when you consider how much talent he's coached at BD and PSG including those who already left those clubs like Weigl etc..4th CM is a tough sell behind our front 3 and with Conor and Billy on the books..
-
Would love Kounde and Saul.epic squad with those 2 additions. Have been hoping for Moriba for the 4th CM spot as thought we could get a young bargain, even though is always the risk they want to return there in the future.would have been content with the 4th CM being a shared spot between a few already on our books including Mount against certain teams.but at least for this season with those two we would be serious contenders in every competition.

Lukaku is the best available rebound after we got rejected for Haaland. Lukaku is a whole different animal to the one that left us as a pup. Give Werner time too,if he can find his finishing boots he'll be sensational,no CB can mark him.
-
I like de Ligt but would be pretty much like losing Werner/Jorginho +say 40m plus either or both AC and AR as free agents next year. Kounde + keep all those players makes far more sense.
-
Internet connection must be poor right now in the lowlands ,I was expecting to see the place flooded with Belgians again.
-
Going to a place that has a good record of young players developing well there but can't help but think at 18 he become inpatient too soon.presuming of course Tuchel hadn't told him he's lower down the pecking order than most fans would think.
-
Reserving expectations until the window closes.I still believe we will have at least 2 new additions by then. I do.expect growth from majority of our younger and/or newer players and Tuchel to use better tactics against "park the bus" teams.
-
Two young defenders with good potential have left now for about the price we would have to pay for one.
-
I'm married to a Japanese woman and I'm in man love with our 4 Germans. Is probably a good job my WW2 veteran relatives are all dead now..😁

I've seen something like 25 managers at the bridge and I'd say tactically he's in the top 5.with potential to be at the top in the coming years.2012 was a bit of a fluke, deserved for those players who had been robbed when they would have been worthy champions of europe who eventually won the cup when they were arguably not even in Europe's top 10. This one though,at least just going from our European campaign,we were fookin' majestic and absolute worthy of being crowned champions. I see some of those who remained in the fringes, sometimes underperforming last season being more of a factor this coming season. Only really need 2-3 good signings away from serious contenders in everything.
-
For the double pivot we gonna be hard pressed to sign anyone whose more established to come to us knowing there's Kante,Jorginho and Kovavic ahead of them.which leaves a youngster trying to establish themselves.which Conor fits the bill.could always have someone like Ampadu who can also cover that spot incase, somebody who can cover multiple positions even though I think Ethan focusing on one position now might better his career than the current role of at best becoming this generations Clayton Blackmore.
-
Wonder what position Tuchel would try to use him.with so many of our players at the euros I can see why he'll give him a look this pre-season but would be surprised if he's actually in our 25 come the start of the season.good player but great clubs do let good players leave.
-
Him or/Mbappe would be only additions I'd go for in our frontline.we have the money and prestige to pull it off.others with prestige are shopping in the bargain buckets.go for it Tommy T and Roman! For Haaland think something like 80-100m and one or two fringe players they may like should be enough but Dortmund don't always do the sensible thing when players are allowed to leave e.g. Not selling players when they can then only seeing them join Bayern for free.

Champions League Final 2021 - Man City 0-1 Chelsea
Duppy Conqueror replied to Jase's topic in Champions Archive
Last time was with bigger names but still more a collection of cup upsets,as for most of those big names it was their last hurrah.but in some ways it was like Greece winning the 2004 euros,we were champions of Europe but nowhere near the best team in Europe. This season I'd say we still weren't the best team in Europe due to our league season but we did perform like worthy champions during our European nights.and unlike 2012 this is the start not the end of glory years with the majority of this squad. -
I wouldn't loan him out.the injury he had and Tuchel needing to steady the ship and catch up as much as possible I think were the factors in him not playing enough this last season.he's ahead of the curve, mature beyond his years like Reece is although could argue mental understanding of the game Billy is ahead of RJ as RJ can find himself out of position when defending and his pace helps him recover.Billy is probably the most football mature teenage player we've had since Ray Wilkins. He'll get more time with us next season.

I honestly wouldn`t trust Bats to poach an egg anymore. I`d prefer us to just roll with a youth player up front if we find ourselves in a position where Giroud or Tammy aren`t available.
-
delighted by this move, classy player that will get bums off seats.and a fookin` bargain in todays market. abit of a shame that Ajax couldn`t keep the squad together to really return to the big time. spent a lot of time in Amsterdam in my younger days so have abit of a soft spot for them, but of course if they gonna break up that squad, rather them come to us that go elsewhere..got a feeling he won`t be the last Ajax player joining us. Van de Beek would be nice..
