Thing is @Jason, 4-2-3-1 just often becomes 4-3-3 anyway. I mean think about it with our personnel in the first place; Matic Fabregas (/Ramires) - Willian(/Oscar) Pedro - Costa - Hazard It's just very easy for whoever is playing ahead of Matic to drop back into the middle, since our tactics are pretty much passive.

Tbh, I'm just positive that he came on in a time where it was important.. Any minutes will help, the performance wasn't much to talk about.
-
I remember Garay at Benfica, Man United were constantly linked with him.. He was meant to be like the next Thiago Silva wasn't he? At 28, I'm baffled as to how he's an apt replacement for chasing a 21yo Stones.
-
Lool, I don't think he cares to be honest. He was happy to let Rondon go to West Brom after all.
-
Indeed. I'm sure towards the end of the season/just before pre-season activtiies Mourinho specifically stated he wished to bring in a striker, midfield and defender?
-
Yeah man, there's nothing to be overly read into here. Mourinho, and Chelsea for that matter, love to make these proclaimations and then go back on it lmao.. Let's see what actually happens on/by Tuesday 11pm (BST)
-
Oh man, Mourinho don't do that, don't suggest the transfer window is closed :-( We do need signings. What's more evident today than anything is we're severly lacking leadership in the defensive reigon of the pitch. Look at Ivanovic today, the vice-captain who's going to be more captain than vice with Terry's form, who was responsible for nearly all the mistakes made today. Stones isn't a leader either, so the question is Mourinho, what are you planning?! He needs to tell one of these guys, Azpiliceuta most suitably, that 'you MUST organise this defensive line'. In losing Drogba, Lampard and Terry we've failed to replace them with guys who are ready to step up. This is what makes players like Rooney, Gerrard, Viera, Keane, Terry, Lampard and Drogba so irreplaceable at times. When you don't sign leaders to take their mantle, you feel their absence a lot more. When Mourinho first came to Chelsea he identified Terry as the leader of the group and entrusted him with it. We see how Arsenal have fallen apart since Viera left the club - They're still trying to replace him! Who does he now turn to? That decision will be important.
-
Fabrivanovic to be precise.
-
Lool this place is so boring when we lose, if you're gonna attack someone then make it our Serbian right-back
-
Ah come on man, it's 4 games in. We'll turn this around lol, 34 games. 102 points still to play for, when the threshold to win the title is between 80-90 points, chill.
-
Did you see much of Kenedy in Brazil, mate? Where do you see his best position in thuis current team?
-
Yeah mate. I think it's entirely pointless to change the manager.. These players just suck at the moment lol. Not sure why they're playing how they are, but Mou can't ignore the obvious anymore. He's still got time to turn this around, there's still 34 games to go, I just don't want a board knee-jerk reaction.
-
Lol, I must be alone in not wanting Mourinho sacked now?
-
Can someone call Germany and ask Eden to come back? It's clear what's happened, he and Thorgan have swapped places
-
Every player out there should come out and apologise to all the fans who went to Stamford Bridge today and all those who watched the coverage on TV. It was embarrassing, lethargic and frankly disrespectful. I'd rather having fucking Joey Barton kicking the shit out of everyone and making them play for their fucking pay. What a load of shit, they literally came last season to win the PL and thought 'right that'll do for a couple of years.' Fine the lot of them their wages. Pricks.
-
Give Juventus half the fucking team for him, complete wankers.
-
Slight hyperbole on Rooney's issue. He didn't get those wages by earning them, he did it by holding Man United to ransom, twice he threatened to leave and they only gave way because there was no other alternatives for them to sign & they didn't want him going to a domestic.. But that's besides the point anyway lol.
-
Yeah like I said, most people won't care lol but it would be nice. I'm not saying we should sign players for that reason, but it would be nice to have them.
-
But look at the caliber of these defenders. Cahill and Ivanovic concede more goals from their side of the pitch than we do any other side, including straight down the middle. Now Terry's having his dip in form which leaves Azpilicueta as our only competent defender at the moment. Who the fuck knows where Rahman is going to be deployed, I still think he'll spend the next 2 seasons being back up to the Spaniard. I hope Zouma has a real breakthrough season, whether it is in place of Cahill or Terry I don't really care to be honest.
-
Yeah but it would've been good to have another one. We once made up an important core of England in Ashley, Lampard and Terry.. I know that most don't care for the NT, but there's a sense of pride in having NT players be from your club.
-
Shame, would've been nice to have an England representitive for the future.
-
Didn't generalise it to England, I think it should be closed everywhere before the season starts lol. Just open it in May, instead of June, and close it in mid-August.
-
Lol I actually agree with this, I want us to have a tougher group than usual. That way if we progress, no-one can say anything about our claim to the trophy. Plus, it's nice to see us play world class teams, to prove ourselves against them.
-
Nah I agree with them to be honest, the window should be closed before the season starts. It just puts an end to all this nonesense which does have an impact on the players it concerns. Deadline day is probably the worst day when you're a lower club with a team full of future stars.
