  1. Personally, I hope Chelsea watch the other fullback playing for Switzerland that day..
  2. I don't know how I feel about his arrogance. On one hand it's like, sure whatever helps you play better.. On the other it's more like, 'dude, the fuck?'.
  3. Oh if we sold Hazard, I absolutely would. Cos that would be stupid by the club unlike the aforementioned....
  4. Precisely my point. His name was plucked out of the Serie A hat first by journalists and they haven't looked back since. Who else emerged since then? Bonnuci, Leichsteiner (forgive my poor spelling), Pogba
  5. Yeah but thinking ahead of getting us to where we should be, there's no sense in it. If we wanted a work horse why sell Ramires? I'm not saying Ramires and Kante are alike, before anyone jumps, but we'll need much more capable cms on the ball. We're going to fork out between £20-30m on him and just not gonna need him in the end. That being said, if Kante means we do business fucking do it Chelsea. I grow more and more negative about the coming season..
  6. Don't get me wrong, that wasn't a dig at all the proposed transfer targets.. But right now they're absolute rumours with no base while our rivals are announcing signings! We were 'meant to' have signed Nianggolan already apparently . We're making Ed Woodward look like he's a fucking genius right now lmao! We need to sign before the Euros. Well it's bloody too late now, so no business until the end of the tournament.
  7. I'll say it now. Xhaka will go down as one of signings on the season and I fucking hate saying that about Arsenal. Not saying he alone will win them the league or any other trophy, but boy has been a massive coup for Wenger. City have announced Gundogan, in a rather cringe online way, and should be wrapping up Laporte any day now. United will announce Zlatan, probably as well as De Gea staying. That all spells trouble for Chelsea. Real Madrid will turn their attention to Courtois and who can blame him for going (well, we can definitely but looking at the bigger picture here..). Mourinho's going to show us exactly what you must reinvest every season, especially when you win the league. I really laughed when it was tweeted Piet saying Roman's going to invest hard in this summer window. Well unless RM's brilliant plan is to wait for an over inflation of prices upon the conclusion of the Euros/Copa America (depending on what kind of players we're signing), I don't see any signs of this yet. And before anyone says it, we know it's only June but ffs. The names we are linked with aren't the world-class players this team is desperately seeking. I'm going into the next season as a pessimist to be honest, I hope the club pulls a fucking gorilla out the hat to save us from an already crumbling situation.
  8. Fucking joke isn't it? It's actually ironic that our most effective transfer window to date was JM's season year where we managed to sign Fabregas, Costa & recall Thibaut (let's ignore what we lost). I'm resigned now to believing such effectiveness was a one off. We are now third/fourth rate for top players coming to england. In Jose and Pep, United and City are now the preferred option. Did we really, really, think Conte was going to attract names like Zlatan Ibrahimovic? Can't wait to start the season with Benteke..............................(!)
  9. I really want him to come to England and Tielesmans, I want to see if they live up to the hype.
  10. Becoming a regular fixture in the media now, after every failed season "could Roman leave". The dude is financing, himself, our new stadium. Does that really spell out leaving signs? What's this been deduced from exactly too, his numerous(!) interviews in the media? . I actually love the fact our owner is silent in the media, because it goes to show how much garbage they talk. Apparently RM told Ranieri he would never win a league title, yet CR says he and RM have nothing but a good and respectable relationship Fascinating, isnt it?
  11. All we wanted from Hiddink and/or JM was to move Azpilicueta to right-back. If, as a left-back, he was good enough to replace Ashley Cole then in his natural position he should be far more effective. But even Azpi isn't as offensively gifted you could argue as Alves, Luis, Alaba etc. At least he would defend the flank, but that is only really key because we have some weak centre backs to be frank . I do struggle to remember that last time we had a pair of fullbacks that were as effective in attack as they were at getting back to defend..
  12. This may sound a bit controversial but I think out of all the type of player we need, Kante isn't one of them lol. He works within the system he's in where he's basically continuously chasing the ball because Leicester play mostly without it. We're not like that, we're usually dominating possession against most teams, especially at home, and I don't see Kante being a crucial part of a team that holds the ball. He's a workhorse and perfect for a team like Leicester, but I have questions whether we really need the guy or not lol. We've got other areas to strengthen in, a box-to-box isn't really one of them. We need a ball playing centre mid, I think DLP is what they're calling it now.
  13. Brilliant, another washed up striker. I officially have no hopes for the coming season if this actually happens. Not that I have any right now lol.. Seems like we're in for another summer of mediocrity. How I wish Conte could be at Cobham right now planning.. Fucking Euros.
  14. Well Rodriguez would easily replace Monreal I think, a lot of Arsenal fans would say the same. You're right re United though, Mourinho seems to be a fan of Shaw and made inside remarks on how he was basically too expensive for us but now that he's got him.. The only reason I'm cautious is.. Well why's it taken so long for any real interest to emerge? This guy was the wankfest of this forum in the days we were looking more and more likely to sign Luis. Although I doubt even if we bought RR he would have not been sold anyway! . I don't know. Maybe it's because of all the bias views I've heard, but it makes me think there's gotta be a primary reason why no-one's approached to sign when he's supposedly the best in the world at what he does...
  15. Better not go there, before you know it the "real fans" bottle will open up. I agree with you. A respectable silence is fine with Mourinho, to chant his name while he's come to beat us...Meh.
  16. Point taken and agreed with. Juan was never going to be the long-term n10 for this club, his limitations were inherently obvious.
  17. Media wankfest is already unbarable. Playing into José's hands though, expert media manipulator.
  18. You're certainly right. Football these days is an agent's paradise.. They're more sought out than the transfer targets themselves. Nike's deal will help too, rubbing shoulders with the sponsors is just as powerful.
  19. Clearly there's an eye to move him into a coaching capacity, he said himself this contract offers him a different role to what he's expected. In one sense maybe he's graciously winding down on a high when he knows he could give top level performances for a year or two longer. It will only serve him well long-term. Frankly, he won't be welcomed as a TV pundit because of the general perception around him (yet Savage continues to run rampage). Who knows, our very own Zidane could be emerging from the shadows sooner or later.
  20. Well we were obviously not going to get such a deal but at only £18m less.. That'll do.
  21. Yes but that wasn't the issue... It's not what he isn't doing for United it's what he was doing for us. There was absolutely no reason to cull him from the team when we did, he was our most creative outlet in the n10 position. Oscar hadn't done anything at the time to justify his selection for that role to the extent we had to sell Mata! Oscar was given the platform and did............nothing. Nothing meaningful.
  22. Thank fuck for that. Second highest in Europe - pending Real's next deal. That'll do nicely in time for us building a new stadium and all.
  23. Well that's out of context.. Terry's injuries played their part, as did Cahill's
  24. Classic John Terry, an undoubted legend for what he's done on the pitch for us but scarcely does that come without controversy. Whether he's getting himself suspended for important finals, having extra-marital affairs etc there's always something. After going public about his contract situation he's got the year-extension he's wanted. Did he think the terms were going to be absolute of what they have been previously? Of course not. The club were clearly reluctant to offer anything which was wrong but now an offer's there and suddenly we're having an issue of how that itself may not be good enough? Idk, maybe it's because i'm fed up of all this politics the club plays internally from board to players. The way I see it now, if he signs then he'll prove all this mr chelsea shit, if he goes then we know it's clearly not about staying at chelsea, more so staying on terms that suit him. I don't blame him so much for going public to be honest. He clearly saw the Lampard situation first time around and saw the fans basically got him that final extension and the same has happened this season (so much for we don't have a voice huh? lol). But if he's then not going to sign on, well hey what the hell do you want JT? Let's hope we won't have to go through this whole speculation and he will sign.
  25. That's fair too and of course we shouldn't be taken for mugs either, which is why breaking our contract early with Adidas isn't an issue most fans will be cursing. After this disaster of a kit with a lack of any real PR is simply embarrassing when you're meant to be one of your brand's highest rated teams. Albeit we're only really behind United & Bayern in their standings, which is a byproduct of them being far more established than we've been.
