Huh, wonder where I thought of 5 . 3/3 in that case!
-
Please no It was unbearable enough when they almost won the PL. You can just see it now, if they win the EL (beating Sevilla too, the 2/2 champions) they'll use the back story of overcoming Dortmund and Villarreal. Then they'll find a way to include Hillsborough and for the entire summer all you have to hear is how the myth of the "famous of European nights at Anfield" will return in the Champions League . Hope Sevilla go on to win it anyway, would be incredible if they can make it 5 in 5 3 in 3 years!

It's a ridiculous, superficial show of power. They're trying to send a message to the team, one that's about 5 years overdue, that's no-one is indispensable now. Terry, from what we seem to know, is the least disruptive in the dressing room. The only time it ever came into question was under Rafa, but Terry's since proven the Spaniard was wrong to drop him. One would presume Ivanovic is less out-spoken in such times. You've rarely seen him linked with any former sides that have previously clashed with the likes of Villas-Boas, Scolari, etc.

next joke please...
-
They probably forgot he played for them..
-
Incredible to think the sums they've spent on the calibre of player and they still can't fill in for him. Mangala, Otamendi, Savic, Nastasic, Boateng, Demichelis etc We've wasted our fair share of talent, but that's a list of centre backs alone
-
He's just recently signed a new contract, he's bottom of the pile to be sold. Even on a personal level for him, he's not getting a better 4-year contract at any other top club at 29. His only options are a lower league team or going for early retirement in China/USA. He'll stay.
-
Well I wouldn't go that far , but yeah it would be good for someone like that to get a taste of the big time glory. I don't think he'll see City win the CL tbh, who knows how patient Guardiola is willing to be with him. He trusts his players through injury, but Komany is someone he's not yet all too familiar with. They're already linked to buying Laporte, who himself is sidelined with a broken leg until October.
-
He's this generation's Ledley King. Brilliant defender but he'll continue to be plagued. Perhaps I hold King in a higher regard, but that's on a personal preference more than anything. But, like King, Kompany will go down as one of the potentially best who's career of injuries blighted an otherwise great record.
-
Get used to seeing this a lot this summer.. . It's like Carlo and the AC Milan link all over again.
-
I trust this won't be added to your already extensive collection?
-
Fucking hope those @We Hate Scouse rumours about Nike are true. At leas they can do simple when they set their minds to it.
-
Oh I see. I wasn't comparing them, no no. It was more how they're so almost similar that our midfield is so static and passive. It has to be one or the other, having both is far too restricting and almost a burden on the rest of the players either side of them.
-
Yeah, missed the point too.. It wasn't about shooting ability at all. It was a lack of Man you sort of missed my point.. It wasn't about Maka or whatever, it's just how inept he is. 3 anomalies don't expunge an otherwise poor record, at least Maka knew his limitations.
-
Remove the lion print and it would've been a simple and pleasing kit. What the fuck where they thinking
-
Good on him for committing. Actions speak louder, so let's hope he stay true to his word.
-
Man you've just made my night. When I went to Prague this was showing at the hostel we were staying at and I totally forgot what it was called
-
From throwing pizza at SAF to slapping Tottenham's balls. You really couldn't hate this man if you tried , he's a bit like Ashley Cole in that way. Came from Arsenal, but makes it difficult to dislike him for it
-
At 2-0 down it just didn't make sense to me, throwing Hazard was positive but why continue to play to rigid and static? A goal from us would've swung the momentum regardless of whether we had 2 holding players or not, it seems counteractive. Individually they're capable enough to cover that area, Mikel and Matic. I guess in hindsight it worked out, but boy was it ugly.
-
He's an odd one though, it's not as obvious as Oscar where you just know he's good for nothing going forward. But Costa is actually a goal machine, when he's in the right mindframe he can easily get you 30 goals a season if the service also matches. But keeping that mindframe is an unwelcome distraction and task sometimes, as Mourinho found out. Conte v Costa has headlines written all over it
-
I think we're just doomed to have a central midfield consisting of players who can't do anything in the final third of the pitch. Why Matic attempts to get forward when his left foot seldom finds the target and he himself knows these limitations is baffling. I guess that's not his fault, the attacking players should be in those rolls, but come on even Maka could thump a shot when there was room for him. Neither Mikel or Matic is capable of that.. Mikel-Matic.. Mikel-Matic..
-
Genuinely still can't believe we played 78 minutes of that game with a midfield of Matic-Mikel . Absolutely woeful and I hope we never have to see that again once Conte is in, what a dull and static midfield it was. Meant we only had 4 attacking players on the pitch. Why he took Pedro off instead of one of those holding players at half-time, I'll never know. Appreciate what Guus has done to get us to 9th until now, but lord was that horrible to endure.
-
Glad they exposed themselves for the scum they truly are again. Was getting bored of the media wankfest.
-
@The Skipper I bet it starts now
-
Lmao for once Hazard's fit and up for it and we leave him on the bench Happy to see Terry on though, between himself and Fabregas there's enough anti-Tottenham feelings to still put out a strong performance. Hazard has to come on between 45~65m
