  1. To be fair I've not read him demanding such wages, the transfer fee is down to Southampton he can't do anything about it. Chelsea can always compromise on his wages over a long term, if he's indeed a fan I'm sure he'll be open to such negotiations.
  2. I'd say it's more him than his father. Almost certainly priced himself out of a premier league move with his wage demands and being caught up in his own hype. Could've been back at Liverpool instead ended up at Palace. Inter are the only ones who'll pay his ridiculous demands.. But it'll be good to see him being successful abroad.
  3. Yeah Terry alike. But I don't see Lampard moving to another English club anyway, certainly not one that would be in a relegation scrap for sure. Abroad makes sense.
  4. Didn't he win them their first Ligue Un title?
  5. He also spends almost recklessly and then leave said club to go bankrupt or in severe financial trouble. As a motivator he's brilliant, even man management could be classed astute. But tactically he's anything but inept afaic, he's good for getting teams promoted but so is Nigel Adkins, Chris Houghton, Sam Allerdyce and Ian Holloway..
  6. It's not just that though. They've made the deals with the American and Australian football clubs to have ownership or whatever it was. This immediately increases their brand value to unprecedented levels (for them).
  7. Don't see that being the case, they can only officially sign these players in June when the 2013-14 season has ended. It would be the 2014-15 summer window.
  8. LMAO I read this too and Rio?! Wheeler dealer Harry Redknapp has truly returned back to the Premier League. Thankfully Lampard has more class and dignity, bet Rio will jump all over the offer..
  9. Apparently he can't do it on a cold night in Stoke..
  10. Agreed, but we have shown before that you don't necessarily need a marquee player that wins the Ballon d'Or to have that. But yeah, if Hazard is going to live up to the hype then he must be the one to showcase his talent on the grand stages not just against Newcastle in the EPL. It's only natural we're gonna hear about PSG, but the club spent so long chasing him they won't let him go when we need him the most.
  11. Well Henry admitted they lied about the clause to the media.. In private I'm sure they told Suarez as they be contractually obliged to.
  12. Someone said this before and to be fair their recent success in the striker department have been players already established as that good. Aguero & Falcao most prominently.
  13. Yea but they'll be able to replace him as they've always done.. They'll reinvest that money from Costa on another upcoming/established striker who they'll then repeat the cycle with
  14. Don't think that matter, I've never heard any rival fan bring that up as an issue.. But our rise is in a relatively young age too, it's only very recently we've become a top European side (with 2 European Cups in 2 years) so I don't think they expect us too. That being said, Lampard was inches away from 2005 it's a shame he was competing with Ronaldinho.
  15. Doubt it's true, their board won't make such a move 6 months after signing him for such money.. It simply wouldn't make sense.
  16. OMG as if they've done a photoshop image of him... That was bad enough when members here did that a few years back
  17. Because they're not in a European competition?
  18. By QPR? I'm sure they're paying Rob Green more than we pay Cech
  19. Hm, I'm not sure about the parking bus tactic next season.. I think his signings this summer will aim to serve a new plan a and plan b so that we don't have to park the bus. It was done a limited amount this season and with his first tenure with us.. During his first tenure he had the players required to avoid that tactic.
  20. I don't think the Evra situation will affect him. It's a 1-year extension.. United are losing Vidic, Rio and Giggs, they will lack leaders on the pitch so I feel this was done for appearances and so that LvG can identify the leaders of his Man United. Shaw would still play more than Evra though. And he probably hasn't transferred yet because Roy Hodgson has banned agents from England's training camp as he does not want them thinking about their transfer issues during preparation/the actual tournament.
  21. Probably because his agent would anticipate a stock rise upon his World Cup performance and use that.. It would give him the bargaining power. That's not true at all.. The concern is how Costa will treat the injury. Whether he/Spain will rush the treatment in order to get him fit or whether they will allow a natural recovery. Del Bosque has delayed naming his squad now till 2nd June which gives Costa 8 days to prove his fitness.. Cuts it a bit fine tbh. To this, I'd say see above to my response to 'didierforever', the issue is not "he could get injured" it's "he is injured, will he recover in a good way?"
  22. I wouldn't say he's overrated as such, I mean he is very knowledgeable but I do agree with you. Mourinho won things with Porto and Inter Milan weren't they weren't in a position to win such things. What Porto and Inter did in Europe especially goes a long way to his pedigree and that's why Real Madrid came calling for him. Pep has taken an easy route in Germany, come on Bayern are the premier house in Germany right now because he's got them when Ribery, Robben, Schweini etc have matured. Until he takes charge of a team who's not challenging yet and reaches unexpected heights I don't think he can be put in the same bracket as Mourinho.
  23. Can't agree, I've never seen why people think Redknapp is as good as is continuously stated.. He's one of the most tactically inept managers around.
