  1. I've never lived anywhere near London and over the years its cost me a great deal of time and money to go and watch Chelsea. I had choices to make, follow Chelsea or spend the money on the other things that i wanted to do or buy. I've paid my dues many times over. My decision to stop going to matches was made at the start of the season. You either have principals and stand by them, or you don't have any at all! Very different reason for me not going than those complaining about cost, restrictions or even not being able to spend more time in Portugal. As I said eàrlier, fans in much poorer parts of the country would have snapped up all the tickets as soon as they went on sale, no matter the cost or difficult circumstances regarding Covid.
  2. Seeing that you asked. No, I'm not going. Due to my very strongly held political beliefs I will not be going to anymore football matches for the forseeable future.
  3. Its not about the ticket office staff having the authority to resell the packages. Its about them saying the tickets were sold out when they clearly weren't sold out. Again though, a genuinely big club in England would have easily had enough fans to buy up all the tickets no matter what price they were going for. Its not like we had an allocation of 20,000 +. We could not sell 5,800 tickets for the biggest game our club can play in. The fans have massively let down and embarrassed the club! They've showed piss poor passion and commitment towards the club and I can see the consequences of this hurting the club for a long time to come, because who in their right mind would spend a shit load of money building a 60,000 seated stadium after this insulting no show by the fans?
  4. Some fans saying the club said the tickets were sold out. I do not believe for one second the staff dealing with the tickets would say they'd sold out with 800 of them sitting in their office. Not possible to be that stupid. Then the cost excuse. Again, one way or another all those other clubs would have sold out their allocations. Furthermore, the average Chelsea fan in West London has more money to burn than the average Liverpool fan living in their City. Yes, we have a good following abroad but they're not the match day fans. In terms of fan support in England 'we're a medium size club and probably 4th in numbers London. Like it or not, the damage has been done. We're being ridiculed and have excuses that just won't wash. .
  5. Let's be honest. Does anyone think Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and other clubs would have sent back tickets from an already small allocation? This is a massive embarrasent for the club and fans from those other clubs can now rightly say we're not a proper big club, just one that's proped up by a rich owner. This is one very big reason why we should neve even think about trying to move into a 60, 000 seater stadium.
  6. Since when has Pep ever gone for players with a first touch as bad as Lukaku's? He'd look a right fish out of water in that team.
  7. What I don't get is why some fans seem to be in hurry to get rid of him? Yes, he's had a disappointing season, but so have some others in the squad. We wait for years for our youth to finally break through but then want go get rid of them after one very difficult season in a very difficult year for every one of us. Surely we can wait one more year to see if he's going to be good enough. Same with Tammy, for me. Though i dont think Tammy will ever be good enough as first choice, I'm sure he's got enough ability to be a good squad player for us. Doesn't look like TT fancies him at all though.
  8. I'm hardly a big fan of William, but I do think some of the hate towards him is a bit OTT. He was another very frustrating player who never fulfilled his potential and his body language on the pitch left a lot to be desired at times, but he did have some very good games for us too. Also, he never downed tools in the season of the three so called traitors. For sure, we should have moved him on earlier than we did, but all the same he's not deserving this level of stick.
  9. Sky Sports saying Willian wants to return to Chelsea. While I think he would have done better than CHO has done for us this season, it would be the wrong move to bring him back. Prefer to see CHO be given one more season to see if he's got what it takes to make it here as the right sided player.
  10. I stay well clear of all those social media outlets.
  11. I'll certainly agree about his shooting and losing the ball too many times, but even with those faults he's still better than the others in midfield and attack. I said elsewhere, the one player who's really getting away with murder is Kovacic. Does feck all in the opponents half and in the space of a week lost the ball and cost us a goal and on Sunday lost it again in the same position and almost cost us another goal. Back to the shooting. The standard of shooting throughout the whole team is a very unfunny joke. I cannot remember seeing a team with so many players who are so bad at shooting. Shots go everywhere and many of those on target end up being more like a pass to the keeper. So bad its become borderline unprofessional.
  12. Gus, of course. Somehow forgot about him. Lovely reception, first time especially. Rafa was very more muted. Some respectful appluase for the good job he did, but with no real affection. Understandable after the stuff he said while at Liverpool. To this day we're stuck with the "Plastics" insults.
  13. Bit unfair that. He had a lot to prove when returning from Derby and he's gone on to be a player who's consistently singled out for praise by many in the game. The only one of our midfield/forward players who turns in consistently performances. Been a bit more up and down recently though. Not a world class player but he has moments of real high class and just an all-round important player in the team.
  14. The problem there is neither Donnaruma or Mendy would settle wih being a number two for very long. While Mendy isn't an elite keeper he's proven to be good enough for the position to no longer be a big weakness. Kepa would be OK for number 2 level keeper. Its just his fee and wages that made it such a bad deal.
  15. Fair point. But I still expect to see some progress in a player and I'm not seeing any in James. I honestly don't think he's any better than he was two years ago and that's a worry. Mount is the only one of the "Chelsea Boys" who's kicked on.
  16. It was nice to see Nuno getting a warm goodbye from the fans. Did a good job there but good to see both the club and manager know its the right time to move on having taken Wolves as far as he can and left on good terms. Think I'm right in saying we haven't been able to give any of our managers a send off since the departure of Claudio.
  17. No, not just you who thinks this. He has the occasional good game but his average level is very ordinary. Not that good at defending and really not doing enough going forward either. I hope for noticeable progress next season. If there is none, then Its probably time to sell him. Same with CHO.
  18. I think most of the negativity towards him is just down to the frustration of seeing him not playing to his potential more often. He's a real talent, but a wildly inconsistent one.
  19. If City play their best they will probably win this fairly easily. For us to win we're going to need all the luck going our way with them not taking their chances and us knicking a goal and hanging on.
  20. He's going to have to start setting us up differently next season. His current approach will be enough to grind out narrow wins but far too many games we're walking on a tightrope. That will mentally wear players down over a whole season. Keeper, three at the back, two wingbacks and two holding midfielders is way too negative and leaves us with just three attack minded players, which clearly isn't enough. Anything can happen in the Cups, but in the league I would only just about give him a pass, and I have to add that I haven't enjoyed watching many of our games under him. He's got a year left on his contract, so I think they should let him see that out and have another talk this time next year. Also, i honestly cant see us putting up a title challenge next season either, so I don't see him lasting more than another year anyway. Just too much work needed on this squad over the next couple of years, but we know Roman don't give him that time. If he can start clearing out the deadwood and maybe win a trophy along the way, then it'll be a decent job done. The clearing should start with Jorgi and Kovacic asp this summer. As with Kepa, I dont care how much of a hit we take, just sell them for whatever we can get.
  21. Yep! Liverpool's keeper has scored only five fewer than our top scorers.
  22. I'm just at a loss, scratching my head thinking about who we should go for. We are not getting Kane or Harrland. I'm not s fan of Lukaku. Dread the thought of a 34 year old Lewondowski leading our attack.
  23. Kovacic is the one really gets away with non performances. Without doubt one of the most vastly overrated players to pull on a Chelsea shirt. Cannot wait yo see the back of this fraud. Him and the equally bang average Jorgi have been absolutely killing us in midfield these past three years.
  24. It's quite difficult to put a time limit on how long you give a player to start performing consistently well. We didnt keep KDB or Salah for long enough, which will always haunt us, but how long before we give up on Puli or CHO and move them on? Not sure if CHO is really all that, but no doubt Puli has the talent to be a top player for us. Can't wait forever though, so I'd give him next season to start producing and sell him in the summer of 2022 if he doesn't. Same with CHO, Werner, Kai and James too.
