  1. Potter won't get sacked no matter the results. Todd probably wants to prove the is making the right decisions, so Potter is supposed to be part of a "long term project". I was a little optimistic when he was signed, but so far he is easily the worst manager of past 20 years, and that's a big achievement when we had Scolari, AVB and Lampard. I get the feeling were are going Manchester United and Arsenal way. I mean, they were willing to let a mediocre manager like Solskjaer stay there for 3 years...
  2. Discussing transfers is pretty pointless at this stage, as long as the clueless owner is in charge of transfer market activities.
  3. United is for sale. Glazers finally realized they don't know how to run a football club. Lets hope it won't take that long before Todd Boehly realizes the same.
  4. New owners looking for serious growth. The solution: lets hire the guy who works for the company that makes FIFA games. LOL
  5. LMAO He was given a 5 years contract, and the owners want him to pick a new Director of Football. 🤡 The club isn't in a good shape right now.
  6. Wow. Things are getting really ugly. New owners are indeed a bunch of clowns.
  7. The thing is: do you believe the club is in good position to make this kind of decision right now? All the football structure was gone, and the new owner appointed himself as DoF. LOL It seems he also loves the spotlight, and is posing for pictures with his new players...he is basically acting like a billionaire with his new toy. If thats not a huge red flag, I dont know what It is.
  8. Someone from news comment section: "Chelsea have just spent almost 280 million this summer... sacking Tuchel is absolutely crazy... This is what happens when American cowboys take over your club..."
  9. New owner spent a lot of money on players that Tuchel asked, sold players Tuchel wanted out...6 days after transfer window closed, this same manger was sacked. As I said before, right now the club lacks short, med and long term view. Even for Chelsea standards, the timig of this sacking doesnt make any sense.
  10. WTF! First time I'm against sacking a manager after poor results, then he is sacked. 💀
  11. Squad is weaker, and its not even a top 5 material. Its weaker because compared to the opposition, the team was left behind, despite being the top spender.
  12. I cant believe we thought William was a frustrating player, then we went to buy Sterling...I mean, he is one of the most selfish players around. He is always trying one extra dribble, instead of passing the ball. Ballack and Lampard never won a UCL together, while both Mount and Havertz won 1 creating a great goal in the final, and I will always be grateful for that. However, everytime I see both put their usual lethargic, anemic and passionless performance, I do miss that old english-german duo.
  13. Im 100% against the idea of sacking Tuchel right now, for one simple reason: this time there is no one in charge of the football activity. There is no proper director of football, and disaster of the last transfer window is a proof. I mean, the team was the top spender, and yet the squad is weaker than it was last season. Liverpool, City, Arsenal, United, Spurs have better squads. Right now the club have 0 direction, and it was expected. I mean, the club was sold in a hurry and out of nowhere there is a new owner, the previous board completely left the club. So, building a new direction takes time. About the "power to player" thing, this is nonsense. I mean, in any football club in the world, the stability comes from above. The so called "managers" nowadays are no more than coaches, and they are "dispensable". It happens in every professional club. Guardiola went to City, because he realized that there were people running the club that would allow him to implement his ideas. City, to other side, hired Guardiola. He is not your average manager, he is a different breed of manager. He is probbaly one of few managers in the world that is as big as players in terms of sucess and name, and in some cases, he is the biggest star of the club. Since Mourinho MK1, we never had a manager of this caliber. Tuchel isnt this kind of manager, he is a good manager, but he has his limitations, but right now, it doesnt make sense to sack him. This season is the first time the excuse of "transition" makes sense. Priority this season must be building a new board that understand what football is and hiring people who understand what it takes to build a sucessfull club. Say whatever you want about previous board, but Chelsea was by far the most successful english club of past 20 years, in terms of major trophies won.
  14. Yeah, I'm sure american billionaires buy famous sports "franchise" because they are super interested in sports. 🤡
  15. The disaster of this transfer window was always heppening. I mean, an American who probably never watched a "soccer" match before appointed himself as director of football. So, the team went from Lukaku and Werner to 0 proper strikers, and it seems the only new striker arriving will be a 33 years old Aubameyang. Lost both Raphinha and Kounde to Barcelona, and 3 weeks later there is no other CB or winger, instead Chalobah, Odoi and Zyech are expected to leave, while the club is linked to Fofana, Maguire and Anthony Gordon...
  16. Right now there is no one in charge. Its clear club lacks any direction, and the new owner put Tuchel in a position hes never been before. Thats why the club transfer window is pretty erratic. For example: getting rid of both Lukaku and Werner before buying another proper CF. Lost both Raphinha and Kounde to Barcelona...and 2 weeks later no other CB or winger arrived. So, the club didnt have any plan b, instead we are now letting Chalobah leave on loan and Zyech is also going back do Ajax. Madness.
  17. I have a soft spot for players with epic hairdos. He is now my favorite player since David Luiz left.
  18. It will take some time before the club becomes a proper and professional club again. New owner doesn't know how to run a football club, and doesn't even know who to hire to do job. This transfer window was always going to be a mess.
  19. Easily the worst take I've read on this forum, and thats really an achievement.
  20. Optimism level: 0 Despite what many people said, Chelsea success in past 20 years had everything to do with people who were running the club. New owners got zero experience with football, and he comes from American sports background. In USA you might run a franchise like Knicks, who gets poor results and still makes cash. The future of this club is probably the present day United and Arsenal: 0 pressure for results, as long as financial situation is great. Chelsea was a club that demanded results. Not different how Real Madrid, Barcelona or Bayern operate. Now the clubs is going in a different position. They are basically giving Tuchel the mission to take the club out of this difficult situation. Look at Liverpool: they finally got the right manager in Klopp. After Klopp, Liverpool will go back to their former mediocrity. A successful club is not a one which the success relies on the manager, it's a club that can find success no matter who the coach is.
  21. If Roman was United's or Liverpool's owner this kind of thing wouldn't be happening. Fuck everyone who is trying to destroy the club, and fuck anyone who claims to be a Chelsea fan and still support this kind of shit.
  22. LOL at people who were or are supporting this circus. Anyone how think this is about "peace" or about supporting victims of the war brutality is a fool.
  23. Devastated by the news. Success of past 20 years wasn't only a product of Roman's money, but also of his direct involvement with the club major decisions. His ruthless decisions will be missed in coming seasons, because I'm afraid whoever buy the club would be more interested in profits than in results on the pitch. The worst case scenario would be the club being bought by Americans, who would run the club like American franchises (results won't matter as long as financial situation is great), so its basically Arsenal and United way. Roman will be forever missed, and despite the initial british press negative reception (who used to said Roman was buying the club to be his toy, and after 3 years he would get bored and leave, so Chelsea would become the new Leeds), Roman turned Chelsea into a european powerhouse with global appeal. He invested heavily on the academy. If not for silly british regulators, right now there would be a brand new stadium as well. 20 years later he is selling a self sustainable club, who is the current Champion League champion, and won more major trophies than any english club in past 2 decades. Those news also made me thought about this forum since I joined it 12 year ago. Many things changed since them, many great members left, and just like most forums nowadays, this place isn't crowded as it used to be. I myself don't have the free time as I used in the past, and I barely visit it, but I still feel like this place is some kind of family. This is a moment of uncertainty, and nobody knows what's going to happen with the club in the future, but I really hope the next 20 years will be full fo great moments like the ones from past 20 years.
  24. There is no difference, and we dont need to bridge any gap to City or Liverpool, we actually just beat City in a UCL final few months ago...and you can go from finishing 10th in a season to winning the league in another one. This squad is good enough to win PL, and Im pretty sure If the players were available, at this point the team would be sitting confortably at the top of the league. This team will finish inside top 4, and will win at least a major trophy this season.
  25. Some people never learn the lesson. Lukaku is a proven player, prolific goal scorer and a leader. In past years we already tried those player who were supposed to be the next big thing and were massive flops: Morata and Werner. Paying any money for a player like Silva from Bundesliga is a big mistake, since he will be just another Werner...but thats no surprise, months ago folks on this sub were saying they didn't want Messi because he would destroy "Lampard's project". LMAO
