Damm, Gore is really handsome.

I'm pretty sure the old anti-Chelsea bias in the press will come back this season. Unless one of new signings flops, there is no place in the starting eleven for Mount, James, Abraham or Tomori. Lampard giving those guys playing time was the biggest reason why in last season Chelsea was covered in a positive never seen during Abramovich era.

This kit is great.

We don't have Bayern, Liverpool or Juventus squad. Barcelona doesn't have shit midfielders and fullbacks, their squad is actually really good. Not sure you can describe a midfield with Vidal, Busquets, de Jong and Rakitic as shit, or describing Alba and Semedo as shit. Barcelona's problem was thinking that any manager could do the job because of the quality of the players. Valverde did a poor job and he was the one behind those two comebacks they suffered against Roman, then Liverpool. They replaced him with a even worse manager.

You both are probably saying this because we know he is not coming anyway, because its not like we have Liverpool or Bayern squad. I'm also sure if somehow he becomes a Chelsea player, you are probably buying 3 or 4 kits with his name. If you guys really mean it, then you are crazy, because right now there is now "project" that is "going places" as Juan suggested. Not sure what "project" he was talking about. In this window the club went shopping again, and next season there is a fair chance we won't be seeing Mount, James or Abraham playing many games as they did this season. Tomori is probably even going on loan to another club as 35 years old Silva will be the leading the defense next season.

But its cool to say you don't want the greatest footballer ever in your team.

Messi knows Chelsea is the final destination of any great footballer. If really knows what he is doing, he will sign for us asap.

Nice try.

Rudiger can't be worse than AC.

Must be AC.

Guardiola just like Mourinho spent the past 10 years living under their previous success. Both outdated. The difference is one is an ultra defensive coach, and the other one plays ball possession based football. If Mourinho was City's manager he would have won 2 PL trophies just like Guardiola did in past 4 years. Both are no more than mediocre managers at the moment.

Any news about his injury? I hope he wont miss that start of next season.

Anyone got a working streaming link?

He doesn't deserve a new contract. Both Conte and Sarri started Pedro over Willian for a reason. Willian's strongest point was his work rate, but he never scored enough goals or created enough chances, but its pretty clear he lost most of that during this season. Specially after the restart of the season, a lot of his performances could be described as "lazy". I can already see next season Mount+Willian starting a game against Liverpool, with Zyech and Pulisic siting on the bench.

ESPN BR didn't show me the game. It was the only Chelsea's PL game that wasn't broadcasted, and it was just the most important one. Instead they showed us United vs Leicester, Arsenal vs Watford and Liverpool vs Newcastle. Not sure why they went with Liverpool vs Newcastle, since it was basically a friendly. Lampard got a top 4 finish after all. I still have a lot of misgivings about what he can do in near future. I think what makes most of us excited about next season are the new signings instead of what was produced during this season. Some great moments, and some terrible ones. We are going nowhere if we play a great game, followed by 2 mediocre ones, with a terrible match in middle. Even the Lampard most praised thing (introducing "young blood") is a not a given to carry one next season, since none of them seems to be good enough to be undisputed starting eleven. For example, if we get Havertz the ideal midfield/attack is Kante-Jorginho-Havertz; Pulisic, Zyech, Werner. Lampard's squad management will be tested next season.

There were positive things about Sarri.

I think most people agree with me on this subject...

As the season is ending, I don't think we should judge a manager's job based in the last 3 games. The team might finish inside top 3, with a FA Cup trophy, or in 5th and losing FA Cup final to Arsenal. Very different results, but I don't think he should evaluated based in those outcomes. I don't think Lampard's job this season was good enough. The team might well finish in 3rd, but this was a very unusual season. United, Spurs and Arsenal all went through huge period of crisis, and with one game to go, we are closer to 12th placed Southampton than to 2nd placed City. Its tempting to picture Lampard's work this season as amazing and unreal if we finish inside top 4 because "nobody expected us to finish inside top 4", but the expectations are adjusted as the season progress. Lampard had some positives, specially in the way he trusted young blood. His attacking football mentality is also a bonus, and he never gave that up, even if in some games he used 5 at the back. He was also humble to review some of his beliefs, like reintroducing Giroud and finally accepting Pulisic is a key player in the current team, and at some point he also realized that he was over evaluating the quality of Mount, James, Abraham and Tomori. To other side, there are many flaws in his work. Defensive system is the biggest one. Some of his positives were also undermined by repeating same mistakes over again. If at some point he realized the english kids weren't as good as he thought, his decisions to start Gilmour over Jorginho when both were available never made sense. He gave Pulisic some playing time, benched Mount, only to bench Pulisic again in favor of Mount. At the end of the season we don't exactly what is Lampard ideal starting XI, and we don't really whats his football style. I don't think we end the season as a solid foundation for next season. I got a positive vibe at the end of last season, as I believed Sarri had created some solid basis there. I don't have the same felling right now. To other side the board knew what they were getting when they hired Lampard one year ago. I think all of those flaws in his job were pretty much expected, so it doesn't make any sense to fire him even if the team don't finish inside top 4 and don't win the FA Cup. Lets see what the board expects from him next season, specially that team is making some bold moves on the market again.

The problem I have with your opinion about Lampard is that you always come up with "yes, he is making mistakes", but at the end of the day you just dismiss most of his mistakes. For example, Lampard's biggest flaw so far is his inability to build solid defensive system, and people pointed that our defense is the same as last season (bar Luiz), but we have conceded war more goals and we look way more vulnerable, then you come up with this narrative: we looked more solid at the defense last season because Sarri played a "risk averse" football, while Lampard has this "attacking firing first" philosophy. Lampard lack of solid defensive system has nothing to do with "attacking firing first" thing. The team concedes a LOT of goals from set-pieces, and that has nothing to with what you pointed. Lampard is not as courageous and audacious as you made him look. Yesterday the team was playing with 5 at the back (very different from Conte's strategy, because Conte played with 3 at back but with wingbacks instead of fullbacks) and yet conceded 5. Sarri made a better job at building a defensive system, as simple as that.

I dont understand why Lampard didnt change the formation.

This result is 100% on Lampard. Its the same old story: he just replicates the tactics from previous game with a positive result. Liverpool is no United, and require different tactics.
-
Kepa concedes 45% of shoots on target. Thats not even a joke. He has the worst stats of PL.
-
Awful tactics from Lampard as well.

Kepa is a clown. MK II.
